I hope the FO agrees w/ you - especially after I am hearing all of these clubs queuing up to purchase the lad off our hands

Been saying this all season.

Who the f**k thinks hes better than Happy?

English media and pundits. They go on like Stones is going to be a world class CB, i have seen nothing that makes me think that way about him just yet. It's like people think that because he can control the ball well and pass it around it means he is going to be great. Being a good passer of the ball doesn't make you a good CB. Positioning, strength, tackling, heading, reading of the game, all of these things are more important for a CB than being a good passer of the ball.

There are CFC fans that believe this. Hell there are peeps on this site that believe this. Still I maintain that Zouma is miles ahead of Stones. Also I like posters like @Scott Harris who rate Christensen better.

Christensen IS better. Ive been saying this since day 1 of the Stones transfer saga as well. Being English is the only thing Stones has over him

Someone in a comments section summed him up brilliantly.

a 40 million quid footballer but a 5 million quid defender

And we have enough 40 million quid footballers already that play like a 5 mill players....we don't need any more.

Yep,

we've Christensen and get to keep $40 million in the bank.

No brainer.  Also shows how suspect I am of Jose's passion to land him

Do people still want to take a chance on him? I remember some people saying he is better than Side Show Bob. I think not and especially after that gaff today he had playing for England today.

He's a young player and young players make mistakes. He's still learning the game, but he's got the ability to do things that very few defenders his age can.

Luiz's problem was that he was still doing silly things when he was 26.

Maybe so, but for 40 mil? I think not.

Young, English, massive potential....the transfer market is crazy and it's only going to get worse. If Sterling and De Bruyne are worth what City paid for them then so could Stones in the long run. Ok maybe closer to £30 million but with add-ons you're looking at something in the ballpark of the price you've suggested.

As i stated earlier in the season, we have dodged a massive Bullet, alright if you want to play like Hansen, he had a brilliant team around him, massively over rated in my book...

I think anyone writing him off now is maybe jumping the gun. I remember there being plenty of people saying the same about JT at the same age and we actually went so far as to accept an offer on him.

Stones at a similar age looks like a very special prospect, and something a little bit different from traditional English centre-halves. He's going to make mistakes like all young players.

He's brave enough to trust his own ability on the ball.

Me personally, I like that about him.

The biggest fault with Cahill and Zouma is their inability to play out from the back which I think is a key attribute for top quality centre backs.

It's a big key in what made Terry and Carvalho such a brilliant pairing.

Shaw it's just the way of the market.

thought this lad was over-rated as well...it's like what @Maksimov just posted...'English so massive overpriced' & yes I believe the same of Sterling. Don't believe he was worth the 50 mil that Citeh paid for him.

I think it's somewhat ridiculous to value Shaw now considering his season-ending injury.

did you think he was worth 30 mil? I didn't & Saint fans will tell you that Bertrand is better - they are happy w/ the money they received for him

We've got Christensen so there is really no need for Stones.

If Terrys going a high class mature CB is needed. Stones is not that.
