Harsh but I second this.

Forget JS, if we couldn't get him in pre season, then we have no hope now + we aren't the viable proposition we were at the start of the season, now he may not want to come, seeing as we're playing like a busted flush!!!

He still makes many mistakes and for the price it's not worth the lack of defensive solidity. I am sure there are other talents out there, of whom are more talented. I know he's English but if that's the only real reason we want him then we should avoid.

I think we dodged a massively overpriced bullet in pre-season, we were blinded by a quest for mega expensive English talent!!

He's definitely not showing he's worth £40m anyone know how long he's got left on his contract?

Now Jose has gone maybe the new manager will not be wanting Stones ?

I like stones but I'm starting to think we would be better off signing a top class centre, that is ready now. We have a young star in zouma. I think we need an experienced head next to him. Hummels would be perfect although probably unrealistic.

He's a good passer of the ball, but his defensive work hasn't impressed me much. Paying 40M for him it's like buying another David Luiz, at least Luiz got that look and the occasional Free Kick. If we sign him, there's no way we could start him and Zouma together without a Senior man, so you either sign another Senior defender and shift Zouma out ( f* mistake that will be), or bench 1 of them.

there is about as much chance of john stones coming to the bridge as there is of jose been in charge for the next match....zero.. move on.. but I do think that given natural progression stones will be a top top class player...

Hummels would be a much better option than this fraud.

who watches him regularly? seems to be a bit overrated, but i haven't seen nowhere near enough of him to determine if he would be a success here. 

One things for sure, he will be kicking himself if his value drops. Seen it all too often with players that are flavour of the month. Look at Andros Townsend. Was once hot property and now he is rumoured to be sent out on loan.

I have watched a fair bit of him this season and i haven't been impressed once. He's quick and makes the odd last ditch tackle but he look's very erratic and get's caught out of position a lot. He look's like he definitely has a lot to learn.

Yeah he looks like a player that COULD be very good one day. At this point in tine hes just above average. Not a fan of paying 40+ million for him

Totally agree ! £ 40 million for a young boy who is still learning his trade and plays in a mid table team and doesn't create or score goals is absolutely riduculous imo

Stones is just another example of an over hyped English player.

The fella is class, he's already a very good defender allied with great confidence with the ball.

Passes well, can carry the ball towards plus doesn't get bullied by forwards and has good pace.

Personally I'd go all out to get him.
