Bertrand Traore

Featured Replies

The guy got something like 20 goals and 30 assists playing behind Torres and without a proper defensive pivot behind him. Would take him back in a heartbeat and its staggering how he's now been at United longer than he was here.

I think everyone here would rather have those players back NOW but IF we were playing better and top of the league how many would want them swapped with our current players?

Beat dead horse some more. Lukaku is definately not world class, Mata not either despite how good he was for us. And KDB, well if 1 1/2 great seasons makes you world class then Florent Malouda should be very happy.

At this point the young players we have need to be playing as a matter of principle. There are no excuses, we're 15th and cant perform consistently

To say mata wasn't world-class when he was with us is plain wrong.

You must have forgotten just how good Mata was if you think he wasn't world class with us. 20 goals and 35 assists is nothing short of amazing. His second season for us is up there with the best seasons i have ever seen from a midfielder.

You know, sometimes it's okay to admit Mourinho has made a mistake. He's not infallible. He's human like all of us.

Spain sure didnt mind leaving world class Mata on the bench. I did say he was great for us didnt I? There are only so many players you can call world class at a time. If you want to argue about what those two words mean, we can. For me Juan Mata is not a world class player. I love the guy but there are better players.

He may have had an outstanding season or two but then again many other players have as well. Harry Kane was on fire last season, is he now world class? Form is temporary, class is permanent.

Jose made a mistake in selling KDB, Ill admit that. But he's done it, its over, lets move on

Under Jose's watch we might as well shut down the youth academies ... a Fergie, Jose definitely ain't!

Emenalo and his scouting staff might as well go on vacation because Jose is stubbornly NOT interested in any other persons opinions or purchases.

Hence, Jose purposely dismantled all previous efforts by getting rid of an amazing array of talent acquired b4 his arrival just to prove a point that Jose knows best ...

Like it or not, the Academy does well to beef up the bank account.  Acquire young players, give them world class coaching and facilities and sell them for a cool couple mill.

It's the business model, and while I want to see our own youth develop into first team players, I do also like competing for trophies.

Also having read a few comments below this one, I have to say I think Mourinho made the right decision with Mata.  i was a huge fan, he was easily our best player, but Jose saw that he weakened the team in other areas.  Mourinho knew how he would bring the premiership back to Chelsea but couldn't factor Mata in to the team, thus making a hard decision but in the end the right one.

I can't blame the selling of Mata for a poor season we are having 2 years later.

There is a reason why we done so well when Jose first came and after. We had a deep core of English players who were the face of the club and moved it forward. You rarely get that with foreign imports alone.

If Jose wants to stay for 10 years he needs to learn how to build a squad without throwing obscene amounts of money at it. Just give the players a chance. Where would lamps be if Ranieri didn't give him a chance?

Lukaku is better than Remy or Falcao by a long shot, but he's a far cry from world class. Mata had a couple of world class seasons, but he's not quite there now.

I will take Mata ahead of any of our midfielders except Willian

Even if we are winning the league every season I will still want Mata here. The way he was treated after giving every thing for us is pathetic

What was the point of bringing back Traore?

Falcao has been rightfully sidelined, Costa is crap, Remy doesn't seem to be trusted, so why not let Traore play at least some 20-30 minutes or even start in a few games?

kills me to see him languishing outside the first team on a constant basis. this lad should be in the first team on a regular. as much as i've been a strong advocate of oscar, i feel a front 3 of willian, hazard and traore would be fantastic. i would really like to see him up front and feel he'll add movement and danger within the box. i do think him and kenedy will get their chances on a fairly regular basis though, we just need stability in results atm.

  • 1 month later...

why can this lad not be used in central midfield? he played this role for us a few times in his first pre-season here, right? i don't see why this isn't being thought of as an option over fabregas. isn't scared to shoot from distance so will give us this alternative when going forward. frustrates me to see absolutely none of our players shoot outside the box, only to instead opt to play it around the box like a diet barcelona.

He isn't a central midfielder at all and I don't think he has played one minute of his career there. He's a forward player. Wide, up front or behind a striker.

That said it was a totally ridiculous decision by Jose not to loan him AND at the same time keep Kenedy in the squad. They've cannibalised each other's minutes with the first team.
