I think he's fantastic, no wonder the vitesse manager converted him into a striker. He probably would have had 2 goals today if Oscar hadnt robbed the penalty from him.

Would say at this point in time he is looking a better prospect than RLC.

he's a good prospect but would you really have him over Costa if we only have 1 up front?

Traore could be the player that breaks through the stigma that the club has towards our youth players, lets hope it leads to players like Abraham, Solanke, Christensen and Charly Musonda getting a proper chance.

He can become a regular in the team without having to compete with Costa.

He's going to make it, even if we are going to sign a big name striker in the summer ( highly doubt it). He just looks he belongs there, goals also help.

I honestly think that him and Costa up front would be brilliant, hopefully our new manager gives it a go.

He looks lively every time he comes on and he's got an eye for goal so he deserves to be second-choice over Remy.

 

However ,I'm not sure if he breaks the stigma of youth players not being given a chance anymore than Courtois or Zouma did because he didn't really come through the ranks. We've yet to really see that truly homegrown player be given a run despite having one of the best academies in the world and that was brought into stark contrast with City's approach today.

 

He's certainly very special though and hopefully his development continues under the next coach.

Well neither did Tibo and Zouma come through the ranks, and anyway it's players like Traore that are the kind to grab the attention, and in a much quicker manner than a keeper or defender by simply keep banging the ball in the net every time you get your opportunity.

I din't mean he can become a regular starter, just a regular amount of time of the bench and be prepared to fill in for the big man when he's injured/banned.

I agree but my point is that the issue has been getting players who have come through the ranks here to cross the divide between being an excellent prospect and being a contributing member of the first-team. That's the real stigma and it's brought into sharp focus when you play a team featuring a number of players who featured in the Youth Cup Final against us.

They prioritised arguably the biggest prize they could possibly win this season. It may well prove fruitless if they aren't successful and will thus appear stupid, but they obviously aren't as confident as you are in their inability to win it.
