August 24, 20169 yr Ajax are currently losing and in danger of not making the group stages of the CL.
August 24, 20169 yr He should be playing right forward, so he can cut onto his left foot, he's not a center forward at all.
August 24, 20169 yr And 4-0.... Traore has been awful tbh (though doesn't help that his teammates are second rate), lost possession for Rostov's 4th... Edit: better since moving to right wing Edited August 24, 20169 yr by the special one
August 24, 20169 yr FT 4-1 (5-2 on aggregate), no CL for Ajax Edited August 24, 20169 yr by the special one
August 25, 20169 yr And 4-0.... Traore has been awful tbh (though doesn't help that his teammates are second rate), lost possession for Rostov's 4th... Edit: better since moving to right wing A local newspaper rates the Ajax players after every match, with scores from 1 to 5. After 4 matches, Traore has an average score of 1.75, the lowest but one of all players...
August 25, 20169 yr He's been there about 2 weeks and people are expecting wonders. Judge him at the end of the loan. If i remember correctly he wasn't great at Vitesse until the new year. Give the lad time to settle in and adapt his game.
August 25, 20169 yr An already pointless loan made even worse. Yip. Now the excuse about having CL football is put to bed. It's a pointless loan playing in a country where he has already proved himself.
August 25, 20169 yr An already pointless loan made even worse. Have to agree. A loan to a Championship club would surely have been better?
August 25, 20169 yr He is a decent player but i have never really understood the hype he gets from some. Lacks physicality and/or the pace to be a really good, Chelsea-level striker in my book. Compare him to the likes of Rashford and he is miles off. Traore is also 21. Really hope he does well for Ajax though. But i don't see him as a future striker for us at all.
August 25, 20169 yr Sometimes I wonder if there is anything you supporters like about our club. "We have no style, board have no idea, we loan too many players, we loan them to the wrong clubs, we sign the wrong players, he's woeful and should be sold".If Bertrand is as good as we all hope he is, he should do good things this season and play every game in a decent league.
August 25, 20169 yr Have to agree. A loan to a Championship club would surely have been better? I think so. But you are not really allowed to have an opinion on it because it upsets a few souls.
August 25, 20169 yr I think so. But you are not really allowed to have an opinion on it because it upsets a few souls. That's not even slightly hypocritical either, but hey, you're right aren't you?
August 25, 20169 yr Agree. Infact, I dont think he should even be on Loan. I think if you gave him the choice of playing as first choice somewhere for the season or third, on a temporary basis, he'd choose first choice.
August 25, 20169 yr I think if you gave him the choice of playing as first choice somewhere for the season or third, on a temporary basis, he'd choose first choice. Probably. But he is 20 and the managers/coaches have to guide him. I feel he would have benefited more staying at the club and getting some gametime than going to ajax and just playing. Adjust himself to the way conte wants to play. Get accustomed to the plays conte would like to players to play.
August 25, 20169 yr Hes 20, I think he will benefit a lot more from playing week in and out then the sub 1000 minutes he would get here. Plenty of time to get acclimated to the team
August 25, 20169 yr It's probably worth bearing in mind that he already has a positive working relationship with the Ajax manager as well.
August 25, 20169 yr Hes 20, I think he will benefit a lot more from playing week in and out then the sub 1000 minutes he would get here. Plenty of time to get acclimated to the team He is 20, his game is not a finished product. Its evolving and we should make sure it evolves the way we want it to. WHich will happen when he stays, trains with the team. There is a reason why pedro has looked so poor here but "looked" like a decent footballer in barca. I think FIFA and FM have actually made a myth that young players need loan spells and they come back better. If our loan system is anything to go by, it for sure does not seem that way at all.
August 25, 20169 yr There is a reason why pedro has looked so poor here but "looked" like a decent footballer in barca. We get it, you don't like Pedro. Don't have to shoehorn that point into every thread you post in.
August 25, 20169 yr We get it, you don't like Pedro. Don't have to shoehorn that point into every thread you post in. Taking things out of context. There were 3 other lines in that post too and this one was just to make a point. Is there any other player in our squad who spent his whole career in an academy like La masia that I could have pointed out just to show the impact of training, running plays and playing to a particular philosophy. If there is I will retract my words right now. Edited August 25, 20169 yr by didierforever
