September 13, 201510 yr i don't think that jose is happy, and it is not just because of Chelsea's slump in form, what ever the reasons are, he does not seem right in himself. he was not quite the same when he returned and i put that down to his time in the boiling pots of italy and spain. i think he has issues and this is obviously affecting the whole team. i just hope it gets resolved before he walks or gets booted.
September 13, 201510 yr Bring back Ranieri - what a response from Leicester this afternoon, great stuff - they showed what our guys are not; fight, effort, determination, bottle Edited September 13, 201510 yr by carrickblue
September 13, 201510 yr We might even say this is the biggest challenge in Mourinho's career yet. I think that's exactly what this is. The club has to back Jose and give him full support, but can he overcome this? I really hope he can. Mourinho never stayed anywhere long enough to get into that deep of a trouble, but the moment he probably secretly dreaded is finally upon him. So far the signs are not great, but we need to wait and see.

Mourinho never stayed anywhere long enough to get into that deep of a trouble, but the moment he probably secretly dreaded is finally upon him. So far the signs are not great, but we need to wait and see. I could imagine Mourinho has never been as afraid of a game as he will be against Arsenal. Imagine Wenger of all people being the one who destroys him... Unthinkable. A lot is at stake for Mourinho. It's clearly not just about Chelsea for him. His family wants to stay in London, his father probably gets the best medical treatment here and he wants to be close. His children are studying here, too. Even if everyone at the club says they are backing him, Mourinho knows how quickly things can change in football. He must be very, very scared at this very moment. I hope he can turn it around because it is not his fault.
September 13, 201510 yr Bring back Ranieri - what a response from Leicester this afternoon, great stuff - they showed what our guys are not; fight, effort, determination, bottle Have a lot of respect for the tinkerman and, while I do not want to see him back and support Jose, I am made up for him that things have started so well there.
September 13, 201510 yr We need to accept this isn't our season, rebuild the team by giving players like baba and RLC a chance, for sure getting fab out of that position, changing formation, playing about and seeing where we are at in January and if need be SPEND BIG, that way we can aim for top 4 and come back next season the finished article, I think if the fans know that is happening and jose says that we will be more than patient, it's the lack of anything tangible happening to improve and us being told we are unlucky that has left us in the dark, so many things to try, we have a fantastic squad, 4,3,3 or playing with wing backs, using 2 at the top, we have plenty of ways we could get this side looking fantastic in a matter of a couple of months, BUT jose has a winning formula, he sticks to it, not it's not working for the first time i his career, it's a big big test for him and I think he will show his class, he isn't a man to be broken or cave in under pressure...we could put a positive spin on this, that as long as we see change and we are told we need to complete the rebuilding of teh squad it will be interesting to watch, worst case scenario, no changes, same excuses, Roman flips and sacks him, then we would be in a shambles and start maybe losing our top players in the summer, this is such a crucial time for Chelsea football club, not that many appreciate the implications for the next 5 or 10 years.
September 13, 201510 yr Its all part of a Chelsea master plan this season we will have no pressure to win the league so we can blood all our young players And we concentrate on winning the champions league and the world bows to chelsea
September 13, 201510 yr Fabregas's time in English football is done. He has declined physically and athletically since January, a return to the slower pace of La Liga would be best for all. When we bought him I pointed out that he was 27, Iniesta 30 and Xavi 34 yet Barcelona were willing to dispense with the youngest one out of the three, they did ok last season without him. Ivanovic's future at Chelsea is as fourth choice centre back, nothing else. The immobile Mikel starting in the same eleven as Fabregas was ridiculous,Loftus Cheek or Ramires would have given us more energy. We need to go 433, would like to see Oscar in a midfield three with Matic and Ramires/Loftus Cheek, sure he could prosper in a deeper role.Howabout Rahman at right back against Arsenal, Sanchez will be cutting inside on his right foot, perfect for a left footed defender.
September 13, 201510 yr It's a broader problem than it looks imo, lots small clues that something wrong in the club which result in below par stuff on the pitch. We had the 4 week run in which was far from perfect, so we played the arse a week too early in our prep and they were much sharper. Swansea tactics were better than ours and we were exposed, 10 men was unlucky but the Eva furore was all about Jose getting it wrong. We then had the the JT fiasco and then bringing in a player JOse hadn't seen, then EManalo interview etc etc etc. Wnd finally, keeper gets bad injury and we play really poorly at Goodison, when JOse picked a midfield and defence lacking pace and an attacking group with no bite or sharpness. Eden and Diego not on it at all. Weds is important to get a result and expect JOse to stay loyal again with the tried and tested - but I would prefer him to change it and go for broke, it's only 1st game so why not take a risk and use it as a pivotal moment. Jose interview, plus words from Ivan and matic also very flat so only way to get a lift is CHANGE IT. MY team is fit would be in a 433 Bergovic Cesa Zouma JT RLC Matic Kennedy Ramires Falcons Pedro And the fans need to be proper 12th man. COme on Jose, time to be brave
September 13, 201510 yr I've said it before but I do think with the season starting earlier and us having very few pre season games hasn't helped much, the players still don't look fully fit.Saying that we have been in poor form since the tail end of last season, we just so happened to be able to defend. Poor form from our most important players though is alarming Hazard was winning games single handedly last season, this season he looks podgy and disinterested. Summer recruitment was poor barring Pedro, can't really comment on Baba yet. IMO we should have gone straight out and improved the squad as we did last season as city showed last season you can't just stand still and not refresh the squad just because of a title win, United under Fergie constantly changed players but kept the spine. Would like to see this for the next few games... ----------------------------Begovic---------------------------- --------Zouma-----Cahill--------Terry-----------Azpi------- ----------------------------Matic-------------------------------- --------------------Oscar-------Fab/RLC--------------------- -------------Pedro---------------------Hazard----------------- ------------------------Costa/Falcao---------------------- Tempted to see what Zouma can do at RB he's quicker than Brana and still gives us the ariel presence, If not it'd be nice to see Baba in there not sure if Jose thinks he's ready yet we shall see.
September 13, 201510 yr to answer the OP, we should have kept Ryan Bertrand so we could have the option of playing him on the left & moving Dave into his normal position - that whole saga w/ our LB situation hasn't worked out IMHO
September 13, 201510 yr Have to say Martin Samuel has a point here to: http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9989712/stagnant-chelsea-have-handed-premier-league-rivals-the-initiative-says-martin-samuel This article says it all really. Jose was screwed by the Board's failure to land his key targets or even any suitable alternatives. Jose's been left, more or less, with the same 11 players from last season. From reports, Jose said he needed a new spine and a quality alternative to Costa. Jose got none of it. So this year we’re older, our weaknesses more apparent, and trying to keep up while every other team has strengthened and improved. In other words, we have fallen behind and there's no easy way out. The problem now is we might not get into the top four which means our recruitment (and income) next season will be limited. So we'll end up falling behind further. That's what the two Manchester clubs understood and that's why they spent to upgrade. We didn't and now we're paying the consequences for the Boards incompetence. Frankly, I'm surprised Michael Emenalo has still got a job. No wonder Jose is looking pissed off.
September 13, 201510 yr to answer the OP, we should have kept Ryan Bertrand so we could have the option of playing him on the left & moving Dave into his normal position - that whole saga w/ our LB situation hasn't worked out IMHO We spent over £20 million on a young promising LB, it's crazy we are not prepared to use him.
September 13, 201510 yr ... MY team is fit would be in a 433 Bergovic Cesa Zouma JT RLC Matic Kennedy Ramires Falcons Pedro And the fans need to be proper 12th man. COme on Jose, time to be brave Well I bloody hope that we'll start with 11 players on Wednesday
September 13, 201510 yr it's not going to get better. Alot of the mates are playing in Euro 2016, so, they have another big tournament to worry about and want to win and play a bit safer than usual. I say sack Jose and sell the guys the new manager considers surplus and bring in new guys.... This window we got Pedro, who is still on eof the top signings in Europe and begovic a quality GK.
September 13, 201510 yr ^^^ word salad. The talk of sacking Mourinho is absolutely insane. He has messed up so far but he is the best manager on the planet and deserves time to turn this around.

September 13, 201510 yr Lots of reason why we are were we are really. A complete shambles of a transfer window ( somehow lucking out getting Pedro after getting whooped by city and Utd fluffing about helped a bit) awful preseason that got us nowere ready, Mourinhos stubberness reliance of certain core players and tactics, key players all being completely off the boil at the same time (Costa, Haz, Fab, Matic, Ivan) Think José needs to bump some skulls and break some egos to get this one back on track.
September 13, 201510 yr Just thought it over, with pre season we have 6 defeats, 3 draws and only 1 win. It is disturbing.

September 13, 201510 yr It's pretty simple, we started off with couple of players not in form. Instead of making changes, Jose persisted with them and the system, With each bad result came in, everyone got affected and start losing confidence in themselves and team mates. We now have a situation where no one is in form, even our striker is afraid for taking shots. There are alternatives left on the bench, but Jose just ignored them and keep doing is way. Tactically, every team figured us out and Jose haven't got a counter act yet
