April 9, 20215 yr My main issue with TA due to his size he should be far more effective in the air with his head at least inside the box from set plays or blinding crosses . He needs to have some Billy whitehirst brought into tammys game as in to put his head in where it might hurt . If Tammy us getting fat lips ,facial cuts and lumps ,broken nose ,nose bleeds goals will be the reason why . Learn to head the dam ball Tammy alan shearer style and attack the ball just like him . Tammy has to bring to the table what likes of wenner cant do and will never be able to do. He needs to man up if that is the correct way of putting it across .

Yet we have to put up with Werner, Havertz and Ziyech stinking the joint out. Tammy has any sense he'd be looking for a new club in the summer. What was said?
April 9, 20215 yr IMO he should have a good chance to fight for the starting lineup next season, specially since Giroud will be leaving. I think that he has been a good player for the past 2 seasons, we see clearly that none of our strikers are doing that well right now so it's more than just the player but Tammy has shown the ability to score goals out of nothing and that quality you can't teach. He can be our own version of Inzaghi, he has the instinct for goal.

We had results without plenty of players that get back in, and the one position we are really struggling with is the attack, so its not like he isnt playing due to the amazing goal scoring of Werner and Giroud. That's a complete load of horsesh*t.

One is pretty much done the other is playing all the time while not producing This is madness

With the big difference that Alonso deserved the treatment for disrespecting the team and coach and afaik Tammy has not done that. I'm not a great fan of Tammy, I think that he is not the striker we need, but I realise that he is young and he needs minutes to show if he's capable or not of doing it at Chelsea. Furthermore, he is so far our highest scorer of the strikers we've got. So he should be getting playing time in the rotations Tuchel does. I thought he was injured and Tuchel was being cautious, but if what has been reported is true, Tuchel has not made himself any favour or indeed Tammy with those words.

TT likes to use false 9 strikers like Havertz or Mount. Sometimes he prefers us to play handicapped so he picks Werner there.

The disconnect with the team is another one I find interesting. As to the same extent Silva was out injured and Christensen was playing well yet Silva walked back in to the team on Saturday. Am sure others have been injured and brought back in as well. Seems TT has an issue with Tammy or could be because he is not signing a new contract TT sees it as a lack of commitment? Who knows.

Run behind?? We have 3 players who can do that. Finish chances? You got to be joking. Keep the ball in final 3rd? You got to be joking. Created chances? We have 4/5 attackers that are better than him at this.

The problem is he is the type of striker that we need. If you want a player who can complement both mount and Havertz, you need a complete type of striker who can do it all aka tammy.

I believe TT has a couple of conditions to meet to get a contract extension. One is to get Werner and Havertz going.

As I pointed out in an earlier post, Tammys goals/assists have one us only a single EPL point this season, when he scored the last min equiliser against WBA. Other than that, none of his goals have been result changing (i.e minus his goals and the outcome would have remained the same). He has scored 12 goals, and got 1 assist, 5 of his goals have come against lower league opposition, with only 1 coming against a team in the upper part of the league (West Ham).

Last season Tammy + Mount was our best attacking duo for most of the season till Tammy got burned out and injured and this season Havertz + Tammy already showed some good synergy. Tammy is still young but he has shown that he can score even when we don't create much at all.

As always, it is not as bad as the press make it out to be, with spin and sensationalism making things sound much worse than the context of what was actually said. TT said that he chooses teams based on he sees as best for chelsea, and not on what the players national team ambitions are (the question was framed around Tammy wanting to play in the Euros). He gave an example of Kepa. He pointed out that he was playing before the injury, albeit not making the impact Tammy had hoped for. He admitted that at the business end of the season, it is not easy for players who have been absent like Tammy to be given lots of minutes and reintegrate. He reiterated that Tammy needs to continue to work/fight for a place, and take his chances when they come. He said that if he does this, he will be vital for the team come the end of the season. This all seems very sensible, justified and reasonable. Unfortunately sensible and reasonable does not sell newspapers or get people talking!

I think it's more than just the player but given the fact that last season was Tammy's first in the PL I think that it's harsh to count him out while playing Giroud that will be leaving and Werner that hasn't been good enough. He has scored more than Werner - but how many of his goals won us EPL games? This season the total is zero. the only EPL points his goal has directly secured is the point away to WBA. This season we have simply not been able to rely to Tammy to score big goals that win us games. Even less so against teams at the top of the league.

OK but if we're struggling with goals in general how much does it hurt to have someone like Tammy on the bench at least? Tuchel has been having for example stuff like 2 keepers on the bench, 2 left full-backs while not having a backup option striker. Giroud scored 4 goals in 1 big game, part from that him and Werner didn't really deliver in big games either I think, it's not like we're treating everyone that underperform like Tammy. I mean it's all good if we manage but IMO having Tammy as an option is better than not having any option part from Werner and Giroud and then simply put use Havertz as a false 9 because hey he can do it...

Agree, he’s the type of striker we need as we are playing, but he needs to be stronger, rougher and score with head, left and right, as well as being able to bully defences and create his own chances. We need a Drogba, a Costa, and Tammy is so far the incomplete version of these. That’s why I would like him to get more playing time to see if Tammy can grow into the position, and given the competition he’s got, he should be a nailed on starter, to be honest. Can he do it? I hope so, but we need to see him on the pitch more often.

Simply because he cost £50m - that’s why. He’s not performing well to be playing on form and Tuchels reason is pish, our attack is painful to watch the vast majority of the time and we struggle to score goals. In general our league form isn’t great either to be honest - we’ve won two out of our last six.
