April 28, 20215 yr Think we should be happy if we got £40 million for Abraham. Can imagine a lot of players will leave the club this summer to be honest. Some we should get good money for like Abraham, Tomori, Barkley and potentially decent money for the likes of RLC and Ampadu as well.

April 28, 20215 yr We're going to sell him for 40-45m and then in 3 years there's going to be reports that we are looking to bring him back for 80m because he offers exactly what we're lacking i can't freaking wait /s

We will probably get £30m+ and add on clauses. Ideally we stick either a buyback or a sell-on %.

In the covid market it is unlikely, but I could see 25mill from either Leicester or West ham, or other english teams.

If we are to lose Tammy then using him as a bargaining chip to get Rice or Nidini or Barnes could well be useful. Or maybe we offer 60mill plus Tammy for the foxes current goal machine and turn him in to the new sutton lol
April 28, 20215 yr My take on this is that i'd like Tammy Abraham to stay. He'd be a great second choice. But would I be comfortable going into next season with Abraham as our undisputed nr.1 striker? Not at all. Unfortunately I think Abraham wants to be a clear cut first choice and in that case I believe a new club would be best for both him and us.

He doesn’t though and I have never heard that idea floated about. I reckon is issue is just not getting any game time, which wouldn’t be an issue if Habeeb’s/Werner were scoring regularly.

We have problem against small team so probably, player like ndombele/thiago is what we need
April 29, 20215 yr Tammy situation is very interesting. We have a 24 year old homegrown striker who scored 15 goals in epl last season and people said we should sell him and at the same time we can't give up on werner so we don't repeat lukaku/kdb/salah situation. There is something wrong with the logic here
April 29, 20215 yr Tammy has done very well for his age and relative inexperience in the PL. Credit to him. The issue is his game has not evolved. To me he is a poacher, and a good one at that with the ball in and around the feet. He is poor with his head (miss times his jump and often his body is ahead of the ball), and hold up play / balance isn't strong enough. I'm also not quite sure he has the full winning mentality / fight we need. Very talented player, but think Chelsea can do better and in todays climate 40M is reasonable. Reinvest that into a better striker.
April 29, 20215 yr Good finisher with the ball at his feet but not a good enough all round footballer to be a starter in a possession based team like ours. Simple as that.
April 29, 20215 yr I have a lot of time for Tammy. Excellent player in the box, not so much when it comes to the press. Hold up play is mixed, sometimes good sometimes less so. He also knows and understands Chelsea very well. Not sure how many strikers our there that are available that are clearly better. Pretty sure Werner was supposed to be the one but he now seems slotted to be a wide player or one of a roving front two.
April 29, 20215 yr Think it's going to come down to who we would sign as a new striker whether or not selling Abraham is good business. Abraham isn't going to be content playing back up. He's showed enough in his career up to this point that he's good enough to be a regular starter for a Premier League side. So if we were to sell Abraham unless we're bringing in a Lukaku, Haaland or Kane, which is pretty unlikely, we're probably going to sign another striker of Timo Werner's profile and as Timo has shown this season that doesn't mean you're necessarily getting an improvement. So why sell a 23 year old striker whose best years are ahead of him? Tammy's record for Chelsea right now in the Premier League is 57 appearances (including 2 sub appearances in 15/16 season), 21 goals and 6 assists. Or 1 goal involvement every 122 minutes played. That's already a respectable record in my opinion and I just think with some coaching and patience he could become a decent striker. Edited April 29, 20215 yr by ForeverCarefree

But as the poster I quoted said, Abraham isn't content being back up so that's why he'll probably leave. I'd love for him to stay as second choice.
April 29, 20215 yr If i was Tammy it would be a tough choice, but i would stay at the club and look at some of our players in the past who have been 'decent' but not top notch , but they still won lots of silverware and had hugely successful careers as squad players.

April 29, 20215 yr I have a feeling he will explode with a midtable side. He's more suited for the Prem and he'd find joy in defences that don't park the bus as much as they do when playing against Chelsea

The trouble is I think it's kind of obvious that he wants to be a star striker, he wants to be the main man which he isn't here. There has been a lot of talk on Abraham leaving so I think if he can't accept a reduced role in the team, it's best to sell him. Can't be keeping an unhappy player around. I get people's point on Abraham being our most reliable scorer but we'll find another one somewhere, perhaps it's not even a striker that will get us goals regularly, maybe Pulisic, Mount etc will.
