March 20, 20215 yr Some (compared to what he said about Gilmour) not particularly encouraging words from the gaffer: “He knows a role in our team can improve his chances to have a role in the English national team. We did not talk about it but it would not surprise me if it’s in his head. This is totally normal at this level that the players have their own interests.”

April 5, 20215 yr Mad really specially when Giroud struggles to get involved for the 60mins he can show abit of movement and Werners confidence is shot.
April 5, 20215 yr Not sure whats going on so i wont claim to. If he's fit he should be involved in the 18 for match day, even if he's not used and stays on the bench, to leave him out all together is insane. Same for Giroud, both should be on the bench at least. Its no wonder our goals + is stagnating. I'm all for Werner starting every game, but we need to see our other strikers more in the later stages of games.

Biggest problem with Tammy is that he's been bad for a while now. Looked like a proper striker early on last season but he's been nowhere near that level ever since.

He was our top scorer last season and is also the top scorer for us so far this season, for a team that is struggling for goals I think it's pretty foolish for your biggest goal threat to not even make the match day squad. We have an incredible squad with amazing technical ability, I think we can afford to play Tammy who may lack in the buildup stage but is more likely to finish off a move in comparison to some of our other attacking options.

Top scorer last year and top scorer so far this year, you'd think he would be included more, especially when we have 3 LBs in the squad. Maybe Tuchel is just being overly cautious but I feel like he would say that if that was the case.
April 5, 20215 yr I think people are also forgetting how poor Costa's linkup play was and yet his position in our team during his time here was never under question because his ability to put the ball in the back of the net was second to none. I am not saying Tammy is on the level of prime Costa but he clearly is our biggest goal threat so therefore making excuses for his exclusion is just clutching at straws.
April 5, 20215 yr Costa may not have had perfect link up play but his off the ball movement was as good as it got. He could not be involved in an attack in terms of ball play and still be a key part in the goal because he drew defenders out, he was an expert at that. Another advantage Diego had over Tammy is he did it against the big boys, Tammy looks overwhelmed in the big games, a few times now my main thought has been that those games are simply too big for him. I see him similar to how I did Lukaku, if he's happy to stay as an option in the squad great, if like Rom he wants to be an unconditional numero uno then there's a deal that suits every party involved ready to he had.

I agree with all your points However the point I was trying to make is that even with all his limitations Tammy is our biggest goal threat and when fit he should be at the minimum be part of the match day squad.
April 6, 20215 yr The situation with him is really unfair, with our current good form I don't expect Tuchel to pick Tammy in the starting lineup, but the minimum is reaching the squad. I afraid this will be the final season for Abraham, he will ask to leave which is legit enough to continue his career.
April 6, 20215 yr Tammy Abraham goals this season came against ; Barnsley (1), Luton (3), Arsenal (1), West Ham (2), Newcastle (1), West Brom (1) and Barnsley again (1). 15 games as a starter; 7 goals 11 games as a sub ; 0 goals 6 goals as a starter in the PL in 1019 minutes ; 1g/169min Edited April 6, 20215 yr by DidierDrogbalala
April 6, 20215 yr Tuchel confirmed her was left out of the squad, he is back from injury. The baffling thing for me is we arent playing with a striker. We are not Man City, so what are we playing at. They can and are getting goals from everywhere, so they can afford to do that. However, we are struggling big time for goals. Abraham and Giroud arent world beaters, but they are our only out and out strikers, and seeing as we are struggling for goals, they need to start playing, especially as Werner can not put the ball in the net.

April 6, 20215 yr Tammy Abraham, who has not featured in the past eight matches, would also be part of the squad. ‘They are fit enough to be in the squad and will be in the squad so this is good news,’ said the boss.
April 7, 20215 yr well it's not like our goal scoring has improved without Tammy in the squad, so he's got that going for him. Strange that we haven't seen Giroud really since his match winning performance in Europe a month ago
