February 8, 201610 yr It's too early for giggs.. I'd rather see him the number two for the next United manager (e.g Steve Holland) and then be the next main man, he's had more time than GNev but still not enough to take over this United side in need of a massive rebuild. If he gets the gig right away and doesn't live up to it.. then what?
February 8, 201610 yr To be honest, it looks like he was destined for failure no matter what. They haven't taken to him from day 1 and it seem's like the players think the same way. You can't manage a club that doesn't want you there. Come back to Sky i say. Edited February 8, 201610 yr by Scott Harris
February 8, 201610 yr Author How can he go back to sky with his tail between his leg How can he criticise another managers tactics and say what they should have done. Haha I think he'd have too much personal pride to just come back. If he's serious he should earn his stripes like everyone else in a lower league first to see if he can cut it.
February 8, 201610 yr You can look at the Giggs question in reverse: how often does a top class player become a top class manager? It happens but it's not the rule.
February 8, 201610 yr You can look at the Giggs question in reverse: how often does a top class player become a top class manager? It happens but it's not the rule. A rarity indeed.. but there aren't many players that have the personality and the chance to play and learn under Sir Alex.. I think Giggs might be the exception
February 8, 201610 yr I can understand turning on Neville but the extreme fan reaction is way over the top, Everton and Chelsea have suffered a similar sort of decline this year, You don't see them lynch mob style going to the team bus swearing etc. These Valencia fans deserve everything they get, They drove out Unai Emery because to them finishing 4th and getting the to the quarter finals of the Copa Del Rey year in year out wasn't good enough, Real weird bunch. Unai Emery on the other hand has guided Sevilla to back to back Europa Leagues, 5th in the league and in the Copa Del Rey final whilst still being in this seasons Europa League.

Same sort of thing with Real Madrid fans as well to be fair. Utterly awful 'support'.

You can't manage a club that doesn't want you there. Come back to Sky i say. This shows the difference in professionalism between Chelsea and Valencia. FSW might have been a hate figure but our players (mostly) turned in performances whether they shared the fans' feelings or not.
February 8, 201610 yr After my dig at Real Madrid fans earlier, I just found out they took just 11 (ELEVEN) fans to their away game against Granada. It has been said about Arsenal fans, but it definitely applies to RM fans - they don't got to games to support the team, they go to be entertained.
February 10, 201610 yr Just saw the Valencia-Barcelona second-leg result from tonight, 1-1. Sure beats the 7-0 loss in the first leg!
February 11, 201610 yr Just saw the Valencia-Barcelona second-leg result from tonight, 1-1. Sure beats the 7-0 loss in the first leg! A very weak barca team, by their standards. https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1052494/Live Edited February 11, 201610 yr by kiwi1691

February 26, 201610 yr Good on Gary, hopefully he's turned a corner and can keep this momentum going for a while.
March 30, 201610 yr He's been sacked: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/mar/30/gary-neville-leaves-valencia-immediate-effect
March 31, 201610 yr Exactly, but that still wouldn't stop JR from thinking he, in some weird way, had "one up" on him. Probably, but at least the Neviller had the stones to give it a go. JR is a clown and probably needs his Mrs to help him do his tie up before coming on TV.
March 31, 201610 yr Author Back to Sky to sit in the high chair and look down on other managers? Kind of hard to do that now!
March 31, 201610 yr Fair play to the guy for giving it a go in one of the toughest situations he could, not knowing the language or the team that well. Would have been very easy for him to have not bothered but he gave it his best shot.
March 31, 201610 yr Back to Sky to sit in the high chair and look down on other managers? Kind of hard to do that now! Food critics don't need Michelin stars to slag off chefs do they.
March 31, 201610 yr Back to Sky to sit in the high chair and look down on other managers? Kind of hard to do that now! A good and balanced pundit doesn't look down on others.
March 31, 201610 yr Back to Sky to sit in the high chair and look down on other managers? Kind of hard to do that now! Meh, Shearer relegated Newcastle but he's doing pretty well for himself now. Sometimes, no matter what job a coach takes, it just never works, no matter what they do. Valencia never took to Neville from day one, no matter what he did it was never going to work for him there. March 31, 201610 yr Neville now has the unwanted statistic of being both the worst ever British manager to manage in Spain and the worst Valencia manager of all time. Ouch.
