December 6, 201510 yr I see most of the posts have us losing. If our dressing room is like this no wonder we find ourselves not being able to beat the likes of Bournemouth. This is a different competition, a sneaky 1-0 win for the good guys especially as it's probably Jose's last kick at the can.
December 6, 201510 yr It's going to be a tough night. Hard decision, should we win and stay in the CL, or we can lose points and go to Europe League? I'd like to see this XI: Courtois Ivanovic Cahill Zouma Azpi Matic Loftus-Cheek Willian Hazard Bertrand Traore Remy I'm feel broken from the last game, but I still love my team, COME ON CHELS!!!!!!
December 6, 201510 yr A draw would be enough to qualify so kind of know on what kind of style we'll be expecting from jose.. Jose was so trolling on benitez's stint playing in europa league even though he's not responsible for that, and how he hopes wenger-arsenal fail to qualify, hopefully those cocky words don't get to bite him but looking at the omen, with casillas at porto, it's no good.. What's the chance of tel aviv getting their 1st point in CL this season? we can even lose this one if they can do us a favor.. Edited December 6, 201510 yr by bola
December 6, 201510 yr Author Why do you refer to us in the third person? Way to commit a Freudian Slip. How you haven't been banned for trolling yet is beyond me. Conveniently forgetting that I had referred to Chelsea as 'us' in the previous sentence, and do so in many of my posts. Nice try. Claiming someone isn't a Chelsea fan because they don't say us at every opportunity
December 6, 201510 yr True, but they didn't. In theory, Porto have to win, and you'd expect them to commit to attack if we can keep it even. Apologies for being optimistic, I just fancy us winning this one. Well f**k my proverbial old boots...this is what it's come to in here, a Chelsea fan feeling the need to apologise for being optimistic... There's people on here predicting 4-0 losses and someone predicting a win is apologising...give me strength.
December 6, 201510 yr Well f**k my proverbial old boots...this is what it's come to in here, a Chelsea fan feeling the need to apologise for being optimistic... There's people on here predicting 4-0 losses and someone predicting a win is apologising...give me strength. Indeed Chippy. It will get better though ... it is not difficult to see why the team is in a tight spot if just half of this "sentiment" is also festering among the lads. Football is a funny ol' sport in that sense. Nothing goes down in a straight line, and especially not a team like Chelsea. The main thing is whether JM will be here to see us through. I don't think Porto will be paying much attention to our PL form here in their approach ... They will be happy with a draw, but I think JM will be going for a win.
December 6, 201510 yr Sadly, I believe if we lose this then it will be the final straw for Mourinho. If we lose and we go into the Europa League it'll be truly horrible, but every Chelsea fan who either spends the 90 minutes at home watching the game or spent their hard earned money to be there deserves to watch a team show desire and passion on the pitch. Therefore if we lose having given all we possibly could then fair play to Porto and we move on
December 6, 201510 yr I won't actually be as bothered as usual if we were to lose here, considering the PL is our top priority and the three teams at the high end of the CL are too good for us at the moment anyway. That said I do think (hope!) that we'll bounce back with a win. Edited December 6, 201510 yr by Teritus
December 6, 201510 yr So much negativity..I know it's hard to be optimistic about this one the way the season is going but we have to believe in the ability of the team & the manager , when we do play at our best we are a very capable side things can turn around and with some deserved luck we can progress in this competition & it's the only one that can save our season. Jose will have us up for this one I'm sure we will win n top the group.
December 6, 201510 yr I am going to stick my neck out and say we will beat Porto and Leicesters charmed existence will end next Saturday two wins and all will be well. This will go down as the season of two halves. Edited December 6, 201510 yr by claytonblue
December 6, 201510 yr It sounds horrible to say but it would be somewhat poetic if Jose's second tenure with us ends at the hands of Porto. It's either Porto or Leicester that are going to do it, my money is on Porto. A loss here and elimination from the Champion's League in front of our home fans would without a shadow of a doubt push Roman and the board over the edge and put Jose out of his misery. Unfortunately, I can see just that happening. Chelsea 1-2 Porto. It's either Porto or Ranieri - an odd symmetry indeed; fate is truly fickle
December 6, 201510 yr I think Willian will bail us out in a 1:1. It will be revenge of the Tinkerman comes the weekend.
December 7, 201510 yr I may be an outlier here but does anybody else doubt the tactics and reputation of Mourinho? He plays the same squad over and over again expecting different results. There is somewhat of a mutiny against him in my opinion I first saw it in the league cup game against stoke when he was trying to talk to hazard before the penalties (which hazard is our best taker) hazard shook Jose off as if he wanted nothing to do with him then missed the penalty, something he never does. Then the costa shakeup against tel aviv and the bench bib incident as well. Cesc is playing like a lost puppy out there as well as matic. I just can't shake the fact that Mourinho doesn't last longer than 3 years at a club there must be some question to that correlation. He was run out of Inter and Madrid by the fans . I honestly don't think he's the man to take us back to the top.
December 7, 201510 yr Can see this one ending 0-0 A nervy, squeaky bum game. Can see Jose taking no chances with the line up. Courtois Ivan - Cahill - JT - Dave Mikel - Matic Willian - Fabregas - Hazard Costa
December 7, 201510 yr I for one , who knows we wont win the european cup this season, hope we get knocked out. concentrate on pushing up the prem to 4th
December 7, 201510 yr I am hoping we come out and attack them! Give the fans (both at the game and at home) something to enjoy. If i see the same old play style, and no change at all in personel, i will feel like smashing up the sky studios and hitting henry with a freshly baked baguette. December 7, 201510 yr Please stop letting splishsplosh start the match threads. We can do this, a draw and we qualify right? I know it may help our league form if we get knocked out but I don't believe that's the right attitude, there's nothing like a good run in Europe.

That's something Arsenal fans say when they are knocked out of the league cup :). We want to play in everything. Right now, we also need to play as often as possible. League, FA cup, CL ... doesn't matter. Just keep the fixtures coming ... only way to get out of a bad spell. Not sure what Porto does, but I can see Mikel starting this. Will shore up our midfield. Fabregas really needs a break.
December 7, 201510 yr If he doesn´t want to play the youngsters i would at least go for Mikel instead of Cesc. Please no Ivan. He can´t cross anymore and seems not really confident on the ball. For the last time, play Remy!!! This Costa, not moving into the box getting me sick. If you want, try Traore but not Costa. What i noticed too is; he never really subs. He only really subs when we concede a goal. He always wants the same f**king eleven, what i really don´t understand. Edited December 7, 201510 yr by Nevamind
December 7, 201510 yr Courtois Azpilicueta, Zouma, Cahill, DaSilva Mikel, Loftus-Cheek, Willian Traore, Hazard Remy Lets do it
December 7, 201510 yr I predicted a win against Bournemouth and we all saw how that went. Basically every time I predict a win we f**k it up, so whether you think i'm being a pessimistic twat or not: Chelsea 0 - 2 Porto
December 7, 201510 yr Considering the fact that a draw will be enough, Jose will play safe with Mikel and Matic in the midfield. No way Jose will play Baba here. He will rather go for Azpiliqueta

I'd like to see this XI: Courtois Ivanovic Cahill Zouma Azpi Matic Loftus-Cheek Willian Hazard Bertrand Traore Remy I'm feel broken from the last game, but I still love my team, COME ON CHELS!!!!!! That looks as about as decent as we can put out right now, with JT coming in for Cahill if fit and possible Kenedy over Traore, but just seeing either of them would give me a bit of optimism. We ALL need a lift. MUST win but I don't want a scrappy 1-0 and us hanging on for dear life. I know it's yet another example of the result being more important than the performance but I think we need a good performance to lift everyone and bring back some confidence. As you say..................... COME ON THE CHELS!!!
