December 28, 201510 yr Our expected lineup: De Gea Darmian Jones Smalling Blind Bastian Morgan Mata Herrera Martial Rooney Memphis will most likely be dropped after his performance, perhaps Blind for Young too though Fellaini may feature on the grounds of Plato's theories..... Not expecting much to be honest, 1-1 draw if we're lucky. Best of luck Shed End.

I guess you could look at our team the same way but I just do not know how United have lost 4 in the league straight with that sort of a team. Top keeper, decent defense. Midfield two are class, Mata is a cracking player, as seems young Martial. Then there is Rooney, usually a big game player. How can you not be confident in that side against a side a few points of relegation? Strange times.

How can you not be confident in that side against a side a few points of relegation? Strange times. Hasn't exactly panned out like that. We've actually never played with the lineup I've posted above except for once in a Champions League match. It's just that a 35 y/o Carrick had 90 minutes on Saturday, Schweinsteiger returns from a 3 game suspension, Herrera, Schneiderlin and Darmian are also back from injury and Fellaini was horrible against Stoke so it's pretty much a default midfield that Van Gaal has barely bothered selecting out of the ones available but yeah, our issues are deeper than just a squad selection at present, we've lost 4 games in a row ffs. Not even sure we'll see this but it's just a rational guess. Edited December 28, 201510 yr by Juan Matas Beard
December 28, 201510 yr No more of Hazard as striker, just confuse the sh1t out of the players. If Remy and Falcao aren't fit, give Traore or Kennedy a start, can't believe these guys never fit when they don't even get the chance to be injured in match situation. I think it's more likely a bore draw between 2 very ordinary teams
December 28, 201510 yr just curious, is Falcao available to play? I am sure he would be up for it to get LVG fired if he was to score. I am sure he would have plenty of motivation. Still I am not sure he could deliver, but it might entertaining to watch.
December 28, 201510 yr What's the point of trying to stick as close as possible to the exact same players that got Jose the sack and got us in this dire situation in the first place ... if some of 'em are injured then that's a blessing in disguise ... Play the kids or give squad fringe players a chance ffs ...
December 28, 201510 yr How come every time Costa misses a match,Remy is unfit? Another player happy to draw the wage without putting the work in perhaps?
December 28, 201510 yr Cesc ill (has not traveled) Hazard, Remy, Falcao not fully fit Diego suspended Cesc allegedly has a fever. Probably brought on by being whipped off at half time v Watford. Very hard to predict this one. Can United really lose 5 in a row? It's being refereed by Martin Atkinson - we've not won any of the last 5 Chelsea matches he's been in charge of. Although we are unbeaten in 8 v United. Will Guus play Traore? To be honest I'm hoping for a result but fearing the worst. It'd be just typical of this season if United suddenly remembered how to play just when we show up.
December 28, 201510 yr Desperately want three points following the miserable bad luck against Watford, but this is our season in a nutshell. This game has a draw written all over it to be honest. Utd have been woeful and will be edgy, but no matter what you think about the LVG situation, we're under much more pressure than them. We remain pinned close to the relegation zone, and our new manager continues to talk about the mathematical possibility of a 4th place. Bonkers if you ask me, but we seem to have adopted a see no evil, hear no evil approach to our situation. I dearly hope we scrape through.
December 28, 201510 yr I'd love to see him start with Traore. Get as much pace in the side as possible.

Exactly my feelings too, this side is not too good to go down, it needs spelling out to all at the club. If we continue to ship two goals a game to workmanlike teams like Watford we will find ourselves in the Championship next year. Our aim first and foremost has to be seven wins from the remaining games, the sooner the better to give us the breathing space we require. to rebuild for the future. A good chance to get one of them today, we will never have a better opportunity, they are in effect US a couple of weeks ago with a manager tottering on survival and confidence shattered. I don't want to hear Remy has a slight niggle, if he wants first team football he will never himself have a better chance of making himself the number one striker here for the remaining games. All hands to the pumps now and fight for the future of the club.
December 28, 201510 yr With just two days rest I think we'll see a much changed squad. Could be Hiddink goes for massive changes with the logic: Tried one squad on Saturday, lets see how the subs do on Monday. Here's hoping...
December 28, 201510 yr That's no good. No strikers and no Hazard. Oh well. Guess that leaves us with...Bertrand Traore.jpg If true that might actually be superb news... I'm still of the opinion Traore is our best finisher, so finally give him a shot... Why the hell did we keep him if we don't intend to use hin?
December 28, 201510 yr Man Utd's last four opponents, all of whom have beaten them, have done so with 44.5%, 31.3%, 44.9% and 47.8% possession. I think it's fairly clear what approach we need to take this evening. I imagine van Gaal will have cottoned onto this however - this could well be a cautious and unexciting game to watch.
December 28, 201510 yr Meanwhile while Traore rots on the bench or in the stands Ajax want him... http://www.westfieldtimes.com/uk/dutch-giants-ajax-be-a-part-of-race-for-highly-rated-chelsea-teenager-bertrand-traore/53359/

Jesus Christ, just how bad is he??
December 28, 201510 yr Got a strange feeling this game will end at either 2-2 or 3-3. Don't query me on why I think it but it's just a feeling I have. If Man Utd lose this, surely Van Gaal is sacked.
December 28, 201510 yr Author Hazard, Remy, Falcao not fully fit Are these guys all confirmed to be out?
December 28, 201510 yr Game of two wounded animals this one. Hopefully our lads are full of optimism and confidence. This is probably the hardest game of the season for people who bet.
December 28, 201510 yr I just hope our lads really try. Similar performance as we did against Porto home and we should win. Edited December 28, 201510 yr by evissy
December 28, 201510 yr Are these guys all confirmed to be out? Remy is reportedly slightly injured (not sure if that means if he is out), Falcao is not fit (and Hiddink says he has yet to start normal training). Not sure on Hazard but Remy and Falcao seem to be out....
December 28, 201510 yr have a horrible feeling that this will be the game that united find their winning form, chelsea just seem devoid of any sort of luck at the moment even when they play well
December 28, 201510 yr Been reported lvg will leave United after this game, regardless of the result. Did not leave after Stoke as this game was just too close to it. Expecting him to resign. Giggs to take temporary charge while they agree terms with Jose. Far as the game goes I doubt guus gives traore a chance. Lad deserves it, but has been so starved of them the little we have seen he has been very selfish. Understandable as he looks to make a name for himself. I expect against United guus wants only team players.
