Make a nice change for you to send one instead of getting that one off your mum every year. You'll always be her ' Special' little boy. Edited February 7, 201610 yr by Passed It
February 7, 201610 yr Mikel go forward, you see what happened at the end of the first half? I actually don't see too much between Matic and Mikel, Mikels playing a bit better but will never get taken off as his Hiddinks number one man. Then when Mikel is playing crap it's always because Matic is playing. I think he had a solid performance. He made three failed passes i can think of and one time he miss controlled the ball when going forward, really not many errors but everybody sees the game differently.
February 7, 201610 yr Apologies, your English is good, it's short for anti bacterial , you know like hand wash to keep germs away. It was a friendly joke. haha oh i see.
February 7, 201610 yr Lol this thread is absolutely ridiculous. We played well after 25 minutes and we were playing good football it was expansive high tempo and the passing was reasonably slick, and it was probably one of our more exciting performances and I'm sure the game would have been enjoyable for the neutral. Yet reading this thread you would think we played ultra negative cowardly football and were lucky for the draw. Also how is Hiddink cowardly for starting Mikel next to Matic, It was a tactical decision where Matic is playing in a box to box role to match Fellaini going forward and going back. And considering he doesn't want to risk Hazard who isn't yet 100% match fit and the BPL isn't a priority for us as it is all but over. So you either play Matic as the Box to box midfielder or you bring in a recently returning and not really up to scratch Pedro or an inexperienced youngster in RLC who can be found out in a game like this and could dent his progress. I wouldn't call this cowardly . welcome to the modern day CFC fan mate. The expectations now exceed the actual footie. If CFC don't win 7-0, then it's not a good performance. Remember last season when CFC won this corresponding fixture 1-0? Many so-called CFC fans said the same thing. IIRC CFC won, but only had 1 shot on target. I remember the moans, but in my eyes I was ecstatic. I have always viewed a day to beat the dirty red mancs a positive. The mancs always get the benefit of the doubt from the refs. I am surprised a dodgy pk wasn't given to them today. Ok it might have been lucky for CFC, but I actually agree w/ LVG on his reasoning why the dirty red didn't get all 3 points. They didn't have the composure to win the match in the end. If Blind stays on his feet then DC wouldn't been able to received the ball. Maybe we should give more credit to Magic Cesc w/ his through ball to DC instead. I rather take this dirty point than a loss. Hey at least we are staying up
February 7, 201610 yr I'm sure there are a lot of commenters on here that have never kicked a ball, and don't understand the subtle nuances of play, once we weathered utds early storm we came into it a lot more, i loved the Battle between Matic and Foulannie, Matic fancied it early and easily won, the difference between Mata and Cesc, two different players, Mata always moving and receiving, Cesc conducting and setting the Tempo, i think if Hazard had of done a full 90 then i believe we win, De Gea pulled off two world class stops, and a couple of other top drawer saves, 4-2 or 4-3 could of easily been the final score, and that doesn't include the 75% pen call, i thought the game was very open and fast flowing, not the claustrophobic fare served up by Jose this season, so we are not going down, so lets just enjoy the remainder of the season, and maybe the swansong of our super leader, JT was immense today, all over the park breaking up, linking up, always trying to spak Chelsea, come on Roman fix his breaking heart..

February 7, 201610 yr I can't remember a time when the manager wasn't being criticised for being too conservative. They can't all have been useless, and we have to assume that none of them actually had the power to change very much. One minute we're being overrun, the next we're bossing it and unlucky not to win. It's all finely balanced out there and knee jerk substitutions are not required. We stay up and do our best in CL and Cup. That's it for this season, so Guus is doing his job well..
February 7, 201610 yr In mid December, we had 15 points from 16 games. Now we have the same number of points from 9 games. If we had accumulated at this rate since the beginning, we'd have 42 points which would have us in 5th place.
February 7, 201610 yr Don't know if it has been said previously. It was good to see our fans again showing a former favourite the appreciation he deserves. Still love you Juan.
February 7, 201610 yr Thats 4 points the coward has cost us in two games no point denying it guys the bloke is awful safety first 2 DM at home for heavens sake matic has turned into a liability ivan the worst ive ever seen shut up

But your right Tibos save was good, but i think De Gea proved he is the best in the PL.
February 7, 201610 yr Just back from the game and the injury to Kurt has really put a cloud over the whole day. The season is a write-off so one of the few pleasures to be had is seeing youngsters like him develop. Seeing him suffer a potentially-serious injury is sickening. The match itself was similar to the Watford game and fits in with the theme of this season - a lack of ambition. There's just no effort to give the fans something to get excited about, no hope being offered and that started in the summer. Speaking to a few United fans on the train back and they seem desperate to get Jose in. Said it would be a statement of intent and reckon he'd have a massive transfer budget. Otherwise, great reception for Mata, huge support for JT but people are getting increasingly fed-up and I don't think it would take much for the atmosphere to get a little hostile towards the club. The expectations of the club seem to be survival and nothing more and Hiddink will get us there. Beyond that, it's best not to look for anything more. The sooner the summer is here, the better.

If we had accumulated at this rate since the beginning, we'd have 42 points which would have us in 5th place. Pretty pointless comment. Generally when a manager gets sacked there is always a performance boost in the players, specially in Chelsea's case as Jose had lost the dressing room and the quality of Chelsea and where they was in the table. Unless your Liverpool of course. But I still don't think 2 wins in 8 is great form

February 7, 201610 yr Been to game today, sit in M H U and like a lot thought first 20 we weren't at the races. After that we didn't set the world alight. After seeing utd's previous games I thought we'd beat them. Second half our touch seemed poor, we don't break quick enough this season from back to front, the transition is too slow. Have to say us the fans were not at it either, thought the atmosphere for this fixture was as poor as I can remember. When the board went up for the six minutes of injury we came alive. It was almost like we were waiting for inspiration from the pitch to get us going. Made me laugh people behind me jumping all over Oscar saying he's sh*t get off the pitch after he's scored at hatrick the week before, there were other players making mistakes all afternoon and no reaction to that. Still unbeaten but don't think we are in much better position since Jose's gone.

There's just no enthusiasm in the support and people seemed to be getting to their seats at a very relaxed pace. People also increasingly getting on the players' backs. Reminds me a lot of Rafa's time here.

You just knew he would be hooked early today and rightly so. But as you say, others were just as bad. Thought Willian in the second half was dreadful. it seemed every time he got the ball he gave it to someone in a red shirt and yet again his corners & free-kicks were poor.

February 7, 201610 yr Back from The Bridge and like most didn't see Chelsea in the field until well past the first 20 minutes. Then we had a mediocre game until Zouma's injury. Then ManU scored a great goal, and like before our guys started playing with intensity and pace creating chances. I just don't understand why we have a to be losing for the players to get a grip and start trying to win every ball and play fast. I do really understand ManUtd fans frustration, their football is not better than ours at the moment, so overall I think it was a fair result although we could have won it in the second half (and that penalty...). Very nice to see the ovation that Mata had from us and the final songs to JT and him giving away his boots to the MT stand supporters. Some good things from today's game, Ivanovic managed to stop Martial although he was helped mos of the time, Matic won its particular battle with Fellaini (who I particularly think is an overrated player), and JT carrying the ball to their box and playing as a striker to encourage the rest of the team mates. February 7, 201610 yr As others have said, it wasn't a horrible performance, but considering where we want to be, we really should have pushed for the win. The team we sent out is a 1:0 team at best (e.g. Arsenal), more often that not it's a team build for a draw. Just like Wednesday night, when we did press them hard and dominate possession,we looked a far more better team. Instead, we spent the vast majority of the match playing the waiting game, hope they could make a mistake for counter. Seriously, would defenders rather facing the trickery and speed of Hazard( even not at his best), or the lumbering one footed Matic? We are playing Costa out of the game when we have no attackers near him and expect him to beat defenders on his own from long balls. Fortunately, he captured the only chance of the game for himself. Jose was guilty of playing too safe in the early part of the season, Hiddink is doing exactly the same. We keep playing safe like this, we will probably need another 8-9 games to get to the safety zone of 40 points. We need to set the tone and go out win the game, rather than waiting for things to happen.
