Sunderland vs. Chelsea (PL) 07/05/2016 KO 15:00 BST

Hiddink said that he wouldn't play our younger players out of respect to other clubs.

So he plays Mikel and Matic instead.

I'd call that taking the p*ss.

Maybe the FA threatened to expel us from the league if we picked some youngsters in a vital game that could affect who goes down. I can't think of any other reason for not giving an opportunity to the younger players when there's nothing at stake for us.

Seem to recall Fergie sending out a weakened team against Hull, who were in a relegation battle at the time. Richard Scudamore actually came out and defended him for doing so!

But the chances are it would strengthen us.

This game epitomized the way we have self destructed this season. The total lack of commitment by the players once we have gone in front has been nothing short of disgraceful, a sort of "That's it, we've done our bit" sort of attitude. Not for a minute thinking that the other side might actually have the balls to fight back, and when they do it's like, "Oh bollox to it, I'll still pick up my pay cheque anyway".... These people do not care about the club or the supporters who spend hard earned cash to travel to places like Sunderland, Newcastle and further afield in Europe to give much needed support (sometimes in extremely hostile environments) to a bunch of players who are picking up a massive amounts of money every week for simply "going through the motions". I read in a recent interview that some of the players stopped playing for Mourinho because,.. "He stopped talking to us"..When you look at some of the performances since they got the man sacked (because that's what they did !!!) can you blame him for not talking to them ?

Don't blame Mourinho or Hiddink for the disgraceful fall from grace we've seen this season, but instead, take a look at the so called superstars on massive wages who have been given every chance to prove themselves under two quality managers time and time again and also being supported by the best supporters in the country. Despite these factors they have failed miserably, and in the process cheated themselves and the fans to a point where I, after almost 55 years am getting to the point of thinking "is it really worth all this sh*t?"

Pretty terrible display. Hope to god we recover next year.

The game was a typical summary of our season. Go in front, fail to close down players and end up losing from a winning position.

shocking Dm and defense. By far these areas need addressing. Even baba rahman ( granted only first season), but he is turning out to be a pretty useless let back.

Did we lose an away game to a side fighting for survival or is the world coming to an end ? All you get on here now is moaning or people insulting each other. Its bloody boring.....UP THE CHELS!

Guus has now completely bottled it regarding playing the kids and has reverted back to more or less playing the exact same players that moved Jose on ... why?

Full strength side. Go in front twice. Still lose.

Pathetic.

Terrible way for it to end for jt too. Out with a whimper. Just as it was for Gerrard I guess.

Bigger problem is the bench. When we were struggling in the game, we had no one to call upon to change things. Just Oscar and a few kids.

don't be harsh. he did a good job steadying the ship. however past that he hasn't really deliver what we expected

It's not harsh. Any manager coming in would have given enough bounce to clear any relegation worries. Hiddink has done the bare minimum and was in the perfect position to change things, yet did nothing.

Honestly I didn't think we were anywhere near as bad as most of you are making out. Looking at Sunderland's three goals, the first was a bolt from the blue, one of those unstoppable, once in a lifetime goals, on a par with Nigel Winterburn's winner for the Arse, which can also be said of Kanu's equally once in a lifetime hatrick, a couple of years later,

Sunderland's second equaliser (from Borini who like Lukakum always scores against us - deal with it) and eventual winner came in a three minute spell in and around the time Ivanovic was injured, surley a contributing factor.

Ultimately, as has been proved so often, football is a game of small margins. Costa should have put is 3-1 up. Had he done so, Ivanovic injury or no Ivanovic injury, the way the game was panning out at that time, I couldn't have seen Sunderland getting anything from the game. I

Again, Sunderland may have been "only a bottom three team" but they were - still are - fighting for their Premiership lives. Besides which, with Norwich losing yesterday, the third relegation spot will surely go to either of the North East teams. And given who's currently manaaging the Magpies, I know who I'd rather see go down.

If we had players who were not on astronomical salaries, along with low-average ticket prices, you would be right to condemn the moaners.

But we have some of the highest paid players in the league and Europe, we pay some of the highest ticket prices in the league and Europe.

We pay for the creme de la creme, but were getting fully skimmed.

Was at the game yesterday, although Sunderland were crap they fought for there survival, showed passion and commitment which we didn't. we looked great passing the ball from side to side and the odd little flick here and there but not drive. For me that game summed up our season, dominated possession looking comfortable on the ball took the lead twice but  ended up losing.

Great support though

The thing that disgusted me the most, not one player came over to clap us at the end! Tibo didn't even turn round just straight down the tunnel.

I think Sunderland deserved the win for the second half performance, they showed real guts.

Take your pick.......

"Grey Day"

"Yesterday's Men"

"Tomorrow's (Just Another Day)"

"Rise and Fall"

Or that other classic, "we're shi. and we know we are"

Nobody saying much about their 2nd goal being so obviously offside!
