December 20, 201510 yr Every fan is entitled to an opinion and I respect every opinion, but I found that booing certain players situation today to be really distasteful, and quite frankly it annoyed me. There is absolutely no doubt that the players have been poor, in some games downright awful, but I find it naive and ridiculous to single out the players and chant the name of the former manager after every goal. I love Mourinho as much as any fan but he is not perfect, and quite frankly his performance this season as Chelsea manager was at times scandalous. Everyone knows he didn't get the right support in the transfer market, but starting off with the Eva Carneiro situation, followed by his ridiculous refeering claims and generally, his downright woeful tactics, this season Mourinho showed that he is not the angel he was portrayed as at the bridge today. The shackles are off for our players, and I think we're about to really kick on Interesting view on it, the things I've read online from opposition fans are extremely positive.A lot of them saying that we're not actually the most fickle & plastic fans which they've accused us of being. That we've stuck by our belief Jose should have stayed (majority's belief that is) and continued to show that even when we're winning instead of just dropping it and asking, Mourinho who? Because we won. some even going as far to say, one of the most passionate fans in the league, where most teams would be screaming for the managers head in our form, we still stuck by him. In regard to booing, I've said before I'm not a fan of it, but how else can fans voice their unhappiness to the club? I'd prefer it to us just sitting quietly when there's things going on inside the club, we're not happy about. Even Ivan/Terry said they understood the reaction of the fans.
December 20, 201510 yr I think José just hit the self-destruct button the way we played after new yr the abysmal pre-season the bust up with the meds the under performing players which he constantly picked week after week all this could and should have been avoided why did it all happen....anyway onwards & upwards...CAREFREE WHERE EVER YOU MAY BE!!!!
December 20, 201510 yr painful to read that Roman ignored Jose's plead. He could've helped him in the summer, didn't do that. Could've helped him with the coming January window, didn't do that. Could've helped him with that pep-talk Jose wanted, but even didn't do that. All he did was giving him ''more time'' than other previous sacked managers, thanks for giving him 1 month extra in exchange for the 6 beautiful years he gave us. Like all articles on this subject, there are no names to substantiate its validity. Just say it was wholly kosher, José asking for Roman to appear in person to address the squad was an admittance that his own man management skills had failed. With this in mind the board would have made the correct decision.

Those oppo fans are hypocrites then. What was the response when we made our opinions known when Rafa was put in charge? That's right, we were slated left right and centre, 'plastic', 'classless' 'ungrateful' were all used and more. What's the difference to what was done then, and yesterday? Nothing. I for one give zero f**ks if fans of other teams 'back us' or give us stick. They are all pathetic bitters. Edited December 20, 201510 yr by Blue Exile

I think you've missed the point I was making mate, what I mean is that when opposition fans are siding with us, it can't be that bad because usually anything would be used as a stick to beat us with.I don't really care what opposition fans think either, it was more just an example of how others not emotionally involved (bar maybe hatred) are viewing it. I was just making the point that I can understand why fans voiced their displeasure.
December 20, 201510 yr "José Mourinho is pleased that he returned to Chelsea football club because he was able to give the fans another Premier League title, which they had not won for many years. He is immensely proud of his eight trophies at Chelsea, and thanks the fans for all their support throughout his two spells at the club." "During his career, José has sometimes chosen to leave a club, but only at Chelsea has the club decided that he should leave." "Each time represents for him the end of a cycle, and the opportunity to start a new one. José hopes that his future after Chelsea this time will be as successful as when he left the club in 2007. "He will not be taking a sabbatical, he isn't tired, he doesn't need it, he is very positive, and is already looking forward." "Because of his love of football, you will see José at football grounds working and supporting friends. He will not be attending any high-profile games because he wants to discourage any speculation about his future. "José will remain living in London and hopes he and his family will be given the opportunity to do this privately." "José will not speak about his current situation for the foreseeable future. He asks the media to respect this decision."http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2015/12/19/10625822/mourinho-statement-chelsea-sacking-manchester-united-rumors Only thanked the fans. Don't think I've seen any manager in world football feel the need to make a "statement" after being fired ... he is so up his own arse it's unbelievable ..
December 20, 201510 yr Jt, dave and willian have all improved massively under mourinho. I imagine Azpilicueta would have improved more in his correct position ... Mata is too similar to Fabergas in terms of strength and weakness - Both need space on the ball to work their magic and a solid defense behind them to allow them to concentrate only on offensive duties without the worry of trying to track back if they get out-muscled off the ball. Mata is a great player. Mourinho invented a load of rubbish about him because he wanted him out, and for the fans not to kick up about it ... no need to keep on believing it now ... painful to read that Roman ignored Jose's plead. Roman probably didn't feel the need to have to do Mourinho's job for him when he was already paying him the equivalent of a decent lottery win each season ... can't say I blame him ...
December 20, 201510 yr Don't think I've seen any manager in world football feel the need to make a "statement" after being fired ... he is so up his own arse it's unbelievable .. What? They all do.
December 20, 201510 yr What? They all do. I just googled all the PL managers who've been sacked this year, and yes you're right. I probably didn't notice as I have no interest in those clubs :) Gary Monk, Brendon Rogers, Dick Advocaat and Tim Sherwood all made statements, but in a very different in tone to Jose's though ... much more classy .. so I stand by Mourinho being up his own arse, as he even makes his leaving statement all about him rather than the club, and lacks the class to thank anybody other than the fans ... Contrast Mourinho's to what Gary Monk said when he was sacked by Swansea: It's with great sadness that I am leaving this special club. Over the last twelve years I have been part of the Swansea City family. It has been both an honour and a privilege to play for and manage this club. I believe that whenever you join a football club, the supporters deserve your blood, sweat and tears. I can say for sure I gave all those things and more. I have had too many amazing memories to mention them all. As a player captaining the club to three promotions, a League Cup winners medal and of course winning promotion to the Premier League via the Championship Play Off Final will be some of the best highlights. The biggest honour, for sure, was wearing the white jersey with pride. The transition from player straight to manager in the biggest league in the world is never an easy challenge, but it is a challenge that I have relished and immersed myself in. I have always tried to improve the principles and values that we have built at this club on and off the pitch on a daily basis. Recruiting high potential and established international players from different cultures and helping to develop them to fit into the team ethos whilst creating valuable players for the club. Taking over as manager in February 2014 whilst the club was involved in a relegation battle, two points above the bottom three positions with 13 league games left, then helping guide the club to safety, comfortably, whilst also managing the club in the Europa League were both amazing and great learning experiences which gave me great confidence to take the club forward. Then in my first full season taking the club to an historic 8th place finish and highest points tally in the Premier League, combined with starting this season so well leads to obvious disappointment of our recent run of results. Everyone at the club from myself, my staff and the players themselves have been working tirelessly to change this loss of form, but unfortunately have not been able to in satisfactory time. I have no doubt whatsoever that these players will start to show their true quality again very soon, and the club will be looking upwards once more. I feel truly proud of all we've done during my 22 months in charge. I would have liked to continue because I strongly believe we would have come through this period together and stronger but I will now use my time to reflect and improve, ready for my next challenge. I would like to finish by thanking Huw Jenkins and the board of directors for giving me the opportunity to manage this remarkable club and for their support throughout the whole of my journey at Swansea City. I must also thank my staff who have shown great support, work ethic and professionalism during my time and they all deserve massive credit for their contributions. To the players, they have been a true privilege to work with and to create some special memories together. Then most importantly I'd like to thank the 'Jack Army’, who have just been incredible from the moment I walked into the club. Your loyalty and support for me has just blown myself and my family away and I will always carry a special place in my heart for you and this club. I wish the Swansea City family all the best for the future and continued success. – Garry Monk. I don't think Mourinho will learn anything from his experiences in the last year. At 52, he is too arrogant, too stubborn and too set in his ways. Manchester United are welcome to him.
December 20, 201510 yr So you don't like mourinhos statement because it was all about him (though I'm not sure what elsrva personal statement can be about) but like monks. Even though half of monks sentences start with "I". Ok..... Theres nothing worse than people desperately hunting for things to be outraged about. Edited December 20, 201510 yr by dkw

Even though half of monks sentences start with "I". Ok..... Theres nothing worse than people desperately hunting for things to be outraged about. Or clinging on to the brainwashing they have had after the Cult leader has departed ... Monk clearly thanks everyone at the Club. Brenda did the same. Mourinho thanks only the fans. Nothing for his staff behind the scenes, nothing about the club, nothing about the players, nothing about the owner who paid him handsomely and gave him the backing and the opportunity to bolster his CV ... but if you're happy with that than more power to your elbow!.

December 20, 201510 yr Love Gary Monk, but he and the others are nowhere near Jose. Arrogant, stubborn and extraordinarily successful.
December 20, 201510 yr So your initial reason didn't work out so you just invented another one. Ah, ok then. Loads of goalposts being moved on here lately. Quite sad really, seeing the desperation of some to find the tiniest little thing to throw at our most successful manager ever.
December 20, 201510 yr So your initial reason didn't work out so you just invented another one. Ah, ok then. Invented ? LOL ! Have a great day !
December 20, 201510 yr Loads of goalposts being moved on here lately. Quite sad really, seeing the desperation of some to find the tiniest little thing to throw at our most successful manager ever. Desperation ? LOL. No denying he is successful, but plenty of people are successful without feeling the need to be a total arse ... so looking forward to us returning to the story being all about the football club and not the manager!
December 20, 201510 yr Yes, desperation. Lol. First, no manager ever releases a statement ....except they do. Which you accept. So move on to his statements have no class as its all about him. When it's pointed out that's what all personal statements will be mainly about, you then move on to him only thanking the fans. Why he has to thank everyone in the media is beyond me. So yes, goalpost moving, desperation etc. Lol indeed.
December 20, 201510 yr Glad to see Jose go to be honest. Yes he has been our most successful manager, but it's what he does now and it wasn't good enough. The guy lost his charisma from years back and was just a grumpy sod who blamed everyone bar himself. Yes the players didn't help with the performances but Jose lost the respect he had with them, and there was no going back after that. No one is bigger than the club, regardless of your affiliation with them. Edited December 20, 201510 yr by Malcolm9
December 20, 201510 yr Loads of goalposts being moved on here lately. Quite sad really, seeing the desperation of some to find the tiniest little thing to throw at our most successful manager ever.Usually I'm a staunch defender of the newbies on here when they create threads when theres already one there because we all had to learn the ropes at some point. But it's interesting that the majority of the 'thank god Jose is gone' brigade are new members. I'm not saying there's not new people who honestly do feel that way who've followed us a long time (probably longer than me) we obviously have long term posters who are quite glad/accepting he had to go. But I'd wager my mortgage on the fact that the majority will be WUMs from other clubs fans or people who have followed us in the last couple of years and don't appreciate what Jose means to us & think that 16th in the league is the worst position in the clubs history. God I sound like my dad, I'm only bloody 22!
December 20, 201510 yr To be honest opposing fans wanted him to stay due to the dramas at the club, they were loving it so I hardly think they'd bother to WUM. Potentially this will free up our creative players and we can move on for the better.
December 20, 201510 yr Players should get criticism not Jose. Players' yesterday performance was the best of this season so far, they ran so hard never like previous games of this season. Oscar made 108 touches yesterday, and he made only 18 touches vs Porto. Also I have never seen Fabregas defending and sliding tackle to opponent. Ivanovich ran so hard, good overlapping and accurate crosses. Obviously some players did not show their 100% skills in previous games, and the reason for that is to sack Mourinho. It is unacceptable to fans that is why we should be angry to them. They let down us and the club to succeed what they want, they never care about fans. All they care about is their wage and manager who they can handle easily. People who say club is more than one manger Mourinho, we will move on but we should remember that it is not Mourinho who ruined this season, it is players who ruined this season and club's reputation.

It was both, Jose hasn't been an angel this season.
December 20, 201510 yr I think the fact that Jose asked Roman to make a speech tells us that he lost the players.
