Jose Mourinho thread

Featured Replies

When a player moves to a rival after spouting their love for another club, they are not always forgiven by some members on here (I don't have names, just recall the posts in the Lampars thread). Will Mourinho be forgiven if he took over at Man Utd or Man City? Lampard, like Mourinho, was not wanted and therefore was free to do what he wanted and yet some people can't forgive him. Same with Cech. Is that because he said he'd never play for another English club? Is that the sole reason? In this day and age, when so much changes, is that the only reason you won't forgive Lamps?

Whilst not mirror situations they do have the same ending - people who were no longer wanted by Chelsea moving to a rival after declaring their "love" for the club and proclaiming to be one of our own. Will people be more forgiving to Mourinho? I question their mentality if so. Mourinho would be a far bigger asset to a club than Lampard was to man City, goes for Cech to Arsenal too.

Its that simple for me. If you say that you could never play for another English club and then change your mind the first chance you get then that leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Makes me question if he only said it to become more popular with the fans.

I wont blame Mourinho if he takes over United, hes been very open about wanting to manage elsewere if we sacked him and now we did.

Definitely not new, or youngish, or a WUM, but i will definitely say it as it is, and Chelsea suddenly became a very TOXIC place to work, and support all those fans that booed our performances either at SB, or on here, blamed Mou for his stubbornness to change tactics, play out of form players, not integrate youth payers, and wanted change, whether that was sacrificing Jose at the altar of Performance i don't know, but now he's gone yesterday we showed our known playing potential, move on and think of the Chelsea, not the circus we became......

Circumstances change, people's outlook change, so they change their minds. They're allowed to plus it's their business, not ours. Everybody moves on eventually, except us supporters, and that's how it should be :-)

Well I disagree, it cheapens a lot of other statements hes made for me. If youre not sure you mean it, dont say it.

Mata is a great player. Mourinho invented a load of rubbish about him because he wanted him out, and for the fans not to kick up about it ... no need to keep on believing it now ...

He is a great player but what about the rest is rubbish ? His lack of pace ? His ability to be outmuscled off the ball ? I take it that the millions of Manchester United fans moaning about Mata are watching someone else ?

Sorry mate - I do not approve of us spending loads of money for Mata with Fabergas still in our ranks.

I'm sure he meant it at the time, but nobody can look into the future. Give him a break, he's Frankie Lampard.

"He's not someone who is there to give confidence to his players. He is there to get what he can out of his players. He expects you to motivate yourself. If you lack confidence, all he does is put you on the bench." -Demba Ba

Sums up Jose in a nutshell. I think modern players need that confidence put in them more so than even 10 years ago. It shows the lack of character some of our players have if they cant motivate themselves to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

I wouldn't have both either .. you certainly couldn't play them both in the same team ... but I'd take Mata ahead of Fabregas all day long as I believe he offers the same potential for assists, but with a goal scoring threat that Fabregas doesn't have ...

agreed - We cant have both of them in the team.

I would be annoyed. To join a new club straight after leaving the club he say's he loves wouldn't sit right with me. Lampard joining City for one season was frustrating and Cech joining Arsenal is a bit of a piss take too.

Cech wanted to stay in London and would never play second fiddle whilst still being in his prime, I wouldn't call that a piss take.

Jose and Co allowed him to go to Arsenal due to his years of service.

No thought given to the fans with this decision though. Years of support and he goes and joins a team we hate. I still like Cech, i'm not that pathetic, but it does piss me off that another one of our greatest players has ended up leaving us for a rival.

I know it's annoying that one of our greats is currently helping Arsenal to their biggest title push in years, but it's Cech's life after all. He wanted to stay in London, he didn't want to move his family to somewhere like Paris etc because they've been comfortable there for a decade. Sometimes we need to look at these players and remember that they are not our toys that we can control and get annoyed at if they don't do what we want, they're people

Anyone else find it sickening the way he is clamouring for the UTD job who are currently managed by his "friend" & "mentor", I find it very disrespectful and crass. No manager had a go at him when we slipping down the table, and you bet had it been Wenger/Pellegrini he would have had constant digs. What I find distasteful is the unnecessary statement he released stating he was going to manage in England, it is bang out of order considering the pressure LVG is under and it is no secret he wants the job. Like common that is his friend.

PS. Won't it be something if Guardiola actually took the Utd role, you can bet your dollar the execs at City won't go near Jose.

How the ef would any of us know if he is ? Is a letter thanking the fans clamouring? The only people clamouring is media and united fans.

He didn't say a thing about managing in England either. He said he was going to stay living in London.

Where and when was he clamouring? I must have missed it.

Bore off

I see this thread has turned to sh1te. As far as I can tell the supporters and the club expect the players etc. to give 100%. Some didnt. Unprofessional. Rightly some supporters are venting their anger. In time the anger will pass. Many wont forget. Chelsea have just sacked one of the best managers in the world.

I dont understand why are you bothering yourself with this ducavis? Three days ago you told me there is absolutely no chance of United wanting José. Now you seem a bit obsessed with the possibility.

I think you might be reassessing the situation. I also think you have a big old pooh stripe in your boxers at the thought of it. Probably not half as wide as the pooh stripe Roman has in his Calvin Kleins at the fear of Mourinho coming straight back to dry hump him for a few years at one of our biggest rivals.
