About time Arsenal were punished. They have been sh*t of late and they have been really lucky to get so many results go their way.

Tbf to them (which isn't like me) they put out a weak team tonight. Wenger has never won this Cup though so you'd think with a semi final place up for grabs he'd try and get one in the bag given he's probably not got long left in management. He's been there since 1997 you'd think they'd have won one by now wouldn't you?

Much better them having Thursday night football, less time for them to recover, hope there is lots of east European teams still left, & they draw every one up to their KO in semi finals.

I bet they focus on top4 and start throwing out weakened teams, they just employed that tactic in the CL when they still had a shot at progressing and it's only November

Yeah, they've still got to draw with or beat CSKA to get there.

To be fair, no one cares about Carling Cup or whatever it's being called now. However, still funny to see Arsenal lose at home, despite Wenger claiming this year would be different. Jose is still on target , win a trophy and call it a successful season.

Arsenal paid 20m for that Lucas Perez, I think they could get Kalou for free and he could much more to their attack.

About Manchester United, their attack looked very strong, especially because of Mkhitaryan. Jose must keep him in the starting lineup, he's fantastic player.

I hate the attitude, I'd love for us to win it as I would every season. I hate when anyone calls the league cup or FA Cup meaningless or a Mickey Mouse trophy. I for one respect all trophies and I'm greatful for any we win so I don't call them meaningless or unimportant when we aren't in them. I also don't agree that no one cares about them.

I agree. There is no greater feeling in football than seeing your team win a trophy. It's what you dream of seeing your team achieve every season.

I would much rather see Chelsea winning cup competitions than be like Arsenal and be content with finishing 4th every season. Nobody remembers how many top 4 finishes you make.

De Gea has made a few mistakes this season for United and there is another one.

Martial has been really good tonight. He's actually pretty similar to Hazard, his decision making and end product isn't as good though. If Mourinho doesn't want him at United, i wouldn't mind having him here with us.

Even last season he made silly mistakes and let in shots (including one from a corner) that he should have saved.

Hes a good keeper but I can't believe even some Chelsea fans think Courtois isn't fit to lace his boots and this best keeper in the world propaganda is beyond laughable. He makes saves that look good on camera (which are often him making up for poor positioning in the first place) which has duped people into thinking hes better than what he actually is.

In the premierleague alone ID take Tibo, Lloris and probably even Cech despite his twilight age before him.

As much as the fans think every match is important, and players say that want win them all, the reality is it can't be done. That's why the manger plays youth or squad players for the cup matches.  The Carling cup or EEL is just not a priority. Would I exchange 2 points for a win over Westham last round? Absolutely not. I was  a little disappointed we lost to them, but it's worth it as we won the game against SouthHampton 3 days later. The only team ( in the top 6) that takes EEL seriously is United, because Jose knew he's not going to win the league, he desperately needs that 1 trophy to add to his resume and convince the fans he's worth it. I'm taking a 3rd or even 4th spot in the league over a EEL or even the FA cup.

Arsenal made 10 changes and Saints made 8 so don't think they can use that excuse!

It would, perhaps, be the defining irony of Arsène Wenger’s uneasy relationship with Chelsea if it turns out that when he finally devised a way of beating them it provoked a tactical shift that won the Blues the title.

I had a good chuckle at this opening line

Not at all but as with any team making a lot of changes makes a difference. Southampton's obviously gelled better.

I counted it myself, and the F-bomb was dropped 15 times in this interview.
