Tottering Spudster and Captain Barrel beer company from Beersel, Belgium, both been bottling it since 1882. True story, look it up. Another interesting fact, Ghent and Beersel are only 64km apart.

Would Leicester sack Claudio's replacement if he goes on to win the Champions League ?

I just don't think we as a club have the moral high ground on Leicester with regards to supporting managers.

One of the worst tackles i have seen in some time from Dele Alli. This is as close as it comes to breaking someone's leg without actually doing it.

That's disgusting, I thought his leg was about to snap...

Yep. Such a nice man. Sad but inevitable.

He never seemed like he had it in him to be a winner and you kinda got the feeling he got lucky last season. But he deserved that bit of luck - alas it run out.

Lucky or not they are 1 result away from progressing to the f#cking Champions League quarterfinals. Leicester City! Its understandable they're concerned about getting relegated but c'mon even setting aside him winning the league last season he's still got them out of relegation places right now and they just got a decent result away to a very good team in the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE last 16!

It's not my club so they can do what they want, it's even worse than us sacking Di Matteo a dozen matches after delivering the first CL in our history

Poch saying tottenham are the biggest club in england. What an absolute joke.

That is a joke in any context. I'm not even trying to say we are the biggest, they are just clearly not. Not even top 5

Of course we don't. I was just suggesting that Ranieri has achieved a bit more with Leicester than AVB did with us.

Ranieri gave Leicester what they never could dream of. Winning the league and creating players like Mahrez, Kante, Vardy, Drinkwater and next season reach the last 16 in Europe, I think he has done more than well in this club. But now it seems like he lost few of his plans, the club isn't playing well and the owner of Leicester did right the thing for him.

I'm feeling bad for Ranieri, but he always will be remembered in the Premier League and of course Leicester football club.

Good luck in your next club, Dilly Ding Dilly Dong!

I think the summer was the beginning of the end when he brutally poured cold water on there chances of retaining the title and said there was more chance of ET landing. I know there was very, very little to no chance, but hearing you're manager say that before you have played a minute of the title defense must have been pretty demotivating.

Leicester are back where they belong at the bottom of the league so i think it is harsh to sack Raneiri. Should have given him to til the end of the season to try and keep them up, which should have been their aim since day one.

That being said there has been many harsher sackings over the year. imagine getting sacked after finishing second and winning the double the year before..

Very sad day for Claudio Ranieri as he deserved a far more dignified exit than he received. The timing of the decision was awful as well.

Leicester have been poor this season, but other managers (except Wenger) must think that any kind of slump they experience will result in a sacking regardless of what they achieved in the past. I still find it strange that the players stopped playing for him so to speak and they need to be held to account for their form slump.

Leicester went above and beyond last season and I doubt they'll replicate that kind of performance ever again. Ranieri was a victim of unrealistic expectations and it shouldn't be forgotten that Leicester avoided the relegation drop at the end of 2014-2015, and Ranieri brought them up to new heights they never dreamed of and now they've comeback to earth with a thud.

Based on results only, the decision to sack him is understandable, but obviously sentimentality and loyalty counts for f**k all these days.

Crazy to think that someone like Arsene Wenger is still the manager of Arsenal because of his consistent 4th places finishes, yet someone like Ranieri, and Mourinho last season were sacked after a form slump and they both coached title-winning teams the season before.

Tottenham went out of the Europa League to Gent last night.

If you haven't heard of them, they are a small team from North London

They won the league and spent £60m, no one was expecting them to retain the league but to not score in six games and be fighting relegation is unacceptable.

Carlo was awful all second season, some of his tactics was ridiculous. Infact despite the nation constantly preaching to the contrary, very few sackings are harsh without good reason (Rowett is the only one i can think of recently, before that probably Big Sam at Blackburn).

Thats harsh mate, thats very harsh.

Leicester won the PL. The only place this looked plausible was on FIFA in the amateur mode. They are in their rightful place at the moment or there-abouts. Of course, raneiri was going to shut down any talk of retaining the PL. Such things happen once in 10 lifetimes and we were lucky to witness it. Dont think that was demotivating at all. The players need to know where they stand.

All said and done, I wish nothing but misery for Leicester from now on.

"It’s hard to know how to feel as a Leicester fan this morning. Months ago I wrote of our love for Claudio, and however bad it got it would always be his call. Over the past weeks my view had swayed. His sacking tonight has led to an outpouring of negativity towards the club. I’m not sure these people understand our club or what we’ve seen at close quarters over the past 3 months.

Let me say we have not competed (just competed) in a football game in a long time. Google our last 15 results, look at goals scored, look at goals conceded, look at shots, tackles, possession. Look at how many games were over by half time. This is a sustained downward spiral. Our fans can handle losing, we can handle lack of quality and we can handle relegation, we’ve seen it all before. What we can’t handle is lack of fight and hunger, we’ve always had that however low we’ve been. Having been at a number of games I can tell you that had gone. Spirit had gone, fight had gone and the team collective had gone. To coin that awful phrase, he had lost his dressing room. Our fans don’t need trophies or Europe, just a competitive football team. We cannot accept being relegated without a fight, 1 away goal sadly does not change that.

People say relegation shouldn’t matter, for us it means the near complete dismantling of our first XI, if that’s not the heart of the club what is? As heart wrenchingly tough as it is, the only way I could see this addressed is a new manager, with a clean slate, fresh ideas and new energy. There is little precedent for a manager staying to turn this around, there is plenty of precedent for new managers providing instant impact.

Most importantly of all let me say this. Claudio will never be forgotten. Last year will never be forgotten. Vardy, Mahrez, Kante, Andrea Bocelli, 7 May 16, never ever forgotten. Be assured nothing will ever change or taint that for us. Claudio will forever be with us at the King Power. Grazie Claudio. Bellissimo"

Is it their rightful place?

I mean, ofcourse no one expected them to retain the league and if they were mid table his position as manager would be under lock and key. But over the season they have been getting worse, they started okay drawing to Arsenal and technically drawing against us before losing in extra time and got 12 points in ten games. In the 14 games since their draw at WHL they have picked up 10 points, scored 12 (9 of which in the first 5 games of the 12) and conceded 27, for a bit of perspective if that's repeated in double that would be P28 W4 D6 L18 F24 A54 Pts20. That even only tells part of the story, they don't even look capable of scoring bar getting lucky on a set piece and looking susceptible to conceding every time the opposition attack, basically us last season but worse, they were going down under Claudio made even more certain by Marco Silva and Paul Clement's turnarounds at Hull and Swansea. If Leicester's new manager beat's Seville, performs a deep run in the competition (with good tactics and god's looking out for them, you just never know) and climbs up the table everything will be forgiven and forgotten.

Also to add to what i said re there recent run, who has the lowest budget in the league? Probably Dyche at Burnley, i bet even he would fins himself under serious pressure if he had a run like that. We as much as anyone has preached constantly at how players (especially Ivanovic and Malouda) shouldn't get free passes based on what they did in the past, why should it be different to managers?

Last season was supernatural though, right now they are where they belong. Other than that N'didi, their signings have been poor. Over £40m for Slimani and Musa is beyond laughable.

I think the vast majority of people would agree the Carlo sacking was harsh though.
