Because player power is too high in today's game.

There is no excuse. He's the boss, you do as you are told as a player or you don't get paid. Well, that is how it should be anyway.

If i was to suddenly start doing sh*t in my job just because i didn't agree with my bosses methods, then i would be sacked, and i rightly so too. The same should apply to footballers. If they can't be bothered to do their job properly then maybe they should have their wages cut, i bet that would soon get them working hard for the team again.

The players don't deserve to have excuses made for them. If they can put in a performance like that only a few days after their manager has been sacked, then there is no reason why they couldn't have done it at other times this season. Yesterday, Leicester played the same way they always play, the only difference was that they put more effort into it.

Whilst most will agree with this viewpoint morally, the reality is that the players are a commodity that increase or decrease in value much the same as stocks and shares. Clubs invest in them, giving them the security of a contract over a given time with the hope of a return on their money either by trophies( that generate revenue) or by a good sell on value. They are hard to get rid of en bloc. This isn't going to change anytime soon whilst money is generated via transfer fees. Both footballers and managers( most who have been on the opposite side) accept this status quo. Whilst i have sympathy for the manager who gets sacked as he is easier to remove, he will get a good financial compensation package and no matter how hard done by the manager may feel for his sacking, he will be only to happy to climb back on the horse and do the same again for another club even though the result may be the same.

Based on the above opinion of the LC fans post it seems that the were doing what their manager was instructing them to do, it just didn't work for them. I'm sure they put in more effort against Liverpool but it also looked like they were returning to tactics that won them the title at the same time.

If your boss was telling you to do something different and you were doing a sh!t job because of it would the owner be justified in firing you?

I'm not siding with the players here but surely as with Jose and our players there could have been some sort of compromise or understanding from both sides that would have allowed both to do their jobs without the other looking bad

It could be Claudio was simply trying to save their legs for the long season he knew was ahead of them by not pressing and attacking like they did the season before from a pragmatic sense. On the other hand maybe he was trying to transition to a more traditional Italian style and his players were just not ready or capable of it given how familiar they were with being proactive rather than reactive and how much they seemed to enjoy playing attacking high energy football.

This is probably what separates someone like Ancelotti who wins at a high level wherever he goes, in whatever country he is in regardless of the team he inherits because he varies his tactics and managers who have one way of doing things al la Pep or even Jose to some extent. Sure Pep looks like the best manager in history when he coaches a team who have literally been brought up to play his kind of football at a club that have his ideals in their DNA. Remove him from that team and put him at Bayern and it becomes less effective. He still had top top players at Bayern but they had to be coaxed to play how he liked and never won what or as much as you would have expected a world class squad+'world class' manager to win.

In short, asking 'What's tackles?' when you manage a team in England is a one track way to go about things that probably isn't going the best thing to put out there, especially when your team also doesn't seem to know what they are.

But the coach is not the boss, he is paid by the same person's' as the players are. His job is to get the team playing to the optimum. If he can not, he is not doing his job well enough. Man management is a massive part of football.

Robbie Savage used to create alias/fake accounts on fan forums and big himself up, Just when you think he couldn't get any weirder? Having said that, Just to let you know, I'm not actually Kinkladze the City fan, I'm Gabriel Jesus, Notice how i slated Aguero a few weeks back and notice how i never compliment Sane and Sterling on here. I also think that Ivanov guy is Hazard or Costa given his opinions regarding Mourinho, Just playing mate.

I'd sign up and be totally open about who I was, but offer no evidence. So they'd think I was just joking, until finally, one day, I reveal it was true all along.

For the first time in a long while I actually looked at the league table properly as I have tended to look only at the top or bottom.  I was very surprised to see WBA, Spammers and Stoke in 8th, 9th and 10th, as I thought they were all just above relegation.  Like maps, I do find new things in league tables to wonder over all the time.

I want to know why the hell the guy is doing slanty eyes in the first place. We don't have anyone of Asian ethnicity

Doesn't every Liverpool supporter kind of suffer from some sort of mental disability?

But in all honesty suppose you're right though... :Alex_03:

But we are not being discriminatory to any disability.

This is better. But I hate that man trying to make himself look like an East Asian (has to be specific with that). Who was he mocking?

Anyone watching the city vs Huddersfield game? Not a bad half, bit of a soft pen for augero though!

I've been watching, the commentary from Danny Murphy on BBC1 is unbelievably bad though. Probably the worst i have heard all season. I don't know what it is with ex Liverpool players, but they just have this habit of being terrible pundits and commentators. Danny Murphy sounds bored and sounds like he is trying to put people to sleep.
