True, you need everything to be a great wingback, but without pace you are struggling to be an average wingback.

I don't know how good this guy is but we need another LWB aswell as RWB for sure. We can't rely on Alonso and Moses all season.

Not sure what happened but massive drop of form this season for Wolfsburg. Really poor by his standards. Obviously can do better, but based on this season he's a bit of a risk and not an upgrade on Alonso.

Even Wright Phillips had moments but overall these players weren't good enough, they weren't guys who would score the amounts of goals needed nor the assists.

Not just scoring. I remember him assisting as well in a number of games. Just playing well in general against us. Maybe my memory of him is just limited to 2-3 really bad games for us.

Looks like we may bring Nathan ake back to cover this spot. Good ideas in my view.never liked Dave at left wing back. No left foot for crossing, he is much better in centre.

He's been playing quite poorly, so ATM overpriced. 

I'm torn between gambling with Kennedy given his previous promise at LB, recalling one of Ake or Baba given their high upside, or going for another young gun with the potential to be better than Alonso such as Benfica's Grimaldo, Celta's Jonny, Nice's Dalbert or even Leverkusen's Wendell.

If they are, then we should look to buy him. Have not seen him play in a year or 2, so can anyone update how he has been doing. 

If we want back ups for Wbs, this guy would be a great one (if Baba is not rated by Conte)

No Wolfsburg aren't relegated yet but will be if they lose a relegation playoff (not sure when or who against sorry)

Re Rodriguez, last summer I would have said buy but that was before Alonso - Ric Rod is too similar for me. Alex Sandro would be ideal but can't see it happening. Personally hope we take a punt on Celtic's Kieran Tierney.

Have not watched Celtic. So cant say much

BUT..

Dont we need someone similar to Alonso. I would not mind that, specially if we get him for cut-price. United/Palace games showed us exactly how important the wing-backs are to the balance of the team. I dont expect Moses/Alonso to be running for 55/60 games next season, hence I would take someone similar to Alonso.

Personally no I don't think we need someone similar, but I'm not Conte lol

I think we could do with someone who can play out of tight spaces, who can cut inside and win take ons toward the centre of the pitch (in other words an inverted wing back). Ric Rod just gives the same as Alonso (run down the flank, cross, recover). From what I've seen of him Tierney can cut inside and run the flank - he has the quality to be our Ben Davies imo (not quite 'world class' but good enough)

David Alaba would be a good fit imho but I'd be surprised if Bayern let him go.
