September 24, 20169 yr I remember posting on the Swansea match thread how there was definitely a fighting spirit returning to the team. How wrong was I. No guts, no fight, no passion, nothing. The majority of the the players are not playing for the club, they couldn't care less. It really puts things into perspective when they can't be bothered to turn up against our fierce rivals. They could not give one flying f**k. Between the lack of passion and lack of quality, I genuinely fear that, unless there is a complete overhaul of the team, starting in January, we could be staring down the barrel of serious decline into football's barren wasteland with the other fallen giants

It's the tactics, players, and mentality against top opposition that we need to improve upon. No qualms if it's back to 4-1-4-1 with Oscar back in the team for Hull. September 24, 20169 yr Zouma Terry and Luiz are good CB options, we arent panic stations in that area in the future if they stay fit, our LB and midfield looks more of an issue judging by this, just seen contes interview, looks absolutely fuming, basically said we look great on paper but our attitude is sh*te, he is spot on. Said 3-5-2 is the future.
September 24, 20169 yr Remember the club never signed the players conte wanted, like he was probably promised when he signed, to play the system he wanted to play. Cahill and Ivanovic are not ballers, so playing from the back isn't working, that's simply where the game was lost today. We were pressed high and couldn't cope with it. I feel that the system isn't balanced. Dave on the left, Eden on the left, we never put in a ball from the left side. Any decent player knows these guys are going to their right foot. Matic and Kante are doing the same job, we don't need matic in there tbh. I honestly think we are in for another tough year. Think we need to do business with Real Madrid see if bale and hazard do a swap deal. Hazard great on his day but we need a left winger with pace to burn. Need defenders to ideally replace all the ones we have apart from Dave, and we need an absolute baller in the middle of the park. If we are to get back to where we should be. Sad times. No way RM would do that deal. Bale is the successor to Ronaldo.

If I was conte I would have had JT stand near the defensive end with a megaphone and yell out commands. Is that within the rules? Sounds like a joke but it couldn't get any worse. I feel sorry for Kante, it was like he was trying to cover for about 5 positions today. Both CM positions, attacking midfield, RB and CB. No wonder why he looked so all over the place at times, he had no choice because everybody else was so sh*t at it.

I'm sorry but the idea that Gareth Bale would leave Madrid to join this Chelsea team is just crazy. We need to do a Liverpool, find some unknown talent and start afresh - Klopp's had a whole year in the Premier League and it's starting to show; give Conte that chance and let him have the sort of players he wants, then we might be able to compete

Sad times. 2 The players he wanted did not want to join us mostly, and others were just priced too much. Conte himself was a 4th? choice for a manager position behind Pep, Sampaoli and Simione System we are playing - talk to Conte about it, he knows what he does the best. Again player choices - I suppose Conte is there on trainings and watches players regularly, so he picks them according to what they show on trainings Maybe Hazard is Bale+Isco/James Examples? Prices? Do they want to play for chelsea and under Conte?
September 24, 20169 yr Appalling, embarrassing performance yet again. These are becoming far to frequent following the loss against Liverpool last week and our abysmal defence of our title last season. The board must know that if managers like Jose, Hiddink and Conte can't get this team playing there must be something wrong with the actual players on the pitch. Everyone on this forum has been saying for at least a year that certain players are well past their sell by date and need to be moved on. The board have failed to bring in quality replacements in defence and apart from Kante (who had a shocker today) they have failed to strengthen the midfield. I still find it astonishing that they weren't even going to give JT another contract. It's going to be another long and difficult season and on this showing we will be fortunate to get into that top four.

I just watched a video on youtube, some Irish guy trying to have a chelsea chanel and they are saying conte out? Not the f**king players that Mou, Guus now conte couldn't get going but teh manager who put spain out the Euros with southampton rejects....People think it's defence and now it is, but JT, Luiz and Zouma are all good CB's we badly need a top LB, the sh*t organization is rubbing off on Azpi, if we have Azpi Luiz/Zouma New LB we are more than ok at the back, what we need badly is a good CM to play with Kante and a winger who can score and assist, KDB might have been ok for that role this might sound controversial but Haz is a big problem, too much reliance on him and when he fades we fade his style also stops us moving forward as directly as we could he stops and starts too much, and he leaves gaps, willian was one of my favourite players but he is just not quite good enough, we need a LB a CM and a top quality winger and a change of system, I doubt we can get that in January but if Roman doesn't want to slip into obscurity he has to do something.
September 24, 20169 yr Jose sold off our good players, mata, cech and a prospective de bryune, so much for buildingJose won the title after Mata and De Bruyne left and selling Cech was Romans decision. This is basically the team that won the title just 15 months ago so I think it's time you stopped blaming him and move on.
September 24, 20169 yr We will not get top four if we do i will come back to this thread bump it and donate £100
September 24, 20169 yr Embarrassing. Conte has only himself to blame for that. Cahill has been a joke for weeks and Ivan's been a disaster for well over 12 months yet keeps selecting them in important games. I'm sorry but that's sheer bad management. What do you think about the Matic and Kante partnership because I have seen us struggle in the midfield many times this season. And when your midfield is struggling it ultimately affects the defence. And we have conceded a lot already this season, I can't even recall our last clean sheet.
September 24, 20169 yr Author The only conceivable positive to take from this game is that we have really built up the title hopes of the Arsenal fans.

They guys has been key to city's vital start to the season.
September 24, 20169 yr I think both Conte and the players should take the blame for this humiliation. Conte got his tactics wrong today but he needs time to adjust and play the system he wants with the players he wants. Half of the team is simply not good enough and the other half doesn't care about the club, they are here to pick up a cheque don't think another 10th place would bother at all a lot of these players. Time to play the kids and get rid of a lot of the players in Jan / summer and rebuild from scratch. 3 quality managers can't get this lot to play, i think it is obvious where the problem lies.
September 24, 20169 yr I don't think we have the p[layers to play how he wants. We can't play it out from the back, we just get xlosed down and either lose it or panic and smash it straight back to them.

Don't buy that any longer..Pep hasn't lost a f**king game and he has never managed in the league either. Conte has been slow to realize that he has not got the players to play like Juventus...so guess what..play some other way because this is a f**king shambles tactically and the players look like Fred Carno's army on that pitch,
September 24, 20169 yr Miguel DelaneyVerified account?@MiguelDelaney That was just Arsenal's sixth win over Chelsea since 2004, and four of them have come in a new manager's first game against them.
September 24, 20169 yr We just don't have the quality - this is now clear from the last two league matches - the win at Leicester was largely down to their mistakes. Difficult times ahead I'm afraid. I would ship out most of the team apart from Costa and the new guys, including Luiz, should be given some time. Most disappointing is Hazard with Courtois not far behind. Cahill made an awful mistake but at least he tries. I thought Matic had a reasonable game but maybe I'm thinking of the second half. Fabregas and Pedro were surplus to requirements at Barcelona and we see why, although neither are bad players. I find it very difficult to see any positives at the moment.
September 24, 20169 yr Embarrassing what a joke, we are the only team in the league that finished last year 10th and only make one change to the starting line up (Luiz aside Terry would have played if fit) Willian a one season wonder absolutely useless this season ,Cahill shot to pieces ,Ivan should never play a first team game again Hazad back to his w::k self . I also think Conte has a lot to answer for and if no improvement is seen over the next 3/4 games then serious questions need to be asked
