First half was pretty poor, but we certainly lifted. Great goal from Pedro, and Moses ghosting into the box unseen for the winner. Nice win.

Willian seemed an obvious one though, he was the only option on the bench capable of carrying the ball and drawing fouls to see out the game. Might not have done an awful lot but his presence meant Spurs could never commit too many too far forward at the end.

 

They can not be running empty, they got a whole week rest compared to spurs and it's spurs who were more on intense pressing game so they're more inclined to be 'running empty..'

Hazard were doing ok, he's still 1 of the few players we had there who can make out something when he's on the ball or when counter attacking.. Unless both hazard and moses picking up a knock then they should have remained on the pitch especially under that situation.. Defending 1 goal lead is dangerous thing to play, taking off our goal threat and at the same time creating a nervous defence by putting on a what? a just coming back ivanovic? hell, even a 100% ivanovic is not good enough let alone a half fit ivanovic..

 

Willian was a good choice though, that I agree but he should have come on on for either alonso or pedro.. I also think if we're going for performance, regardless whether he's top class or not then kante should be off , maybe chaloebah should have slotted in for him in this game..

You might not agree with the subtitutions but you cant argue with the result.We defended well and Spuds were poor in the last third.We will play much better than this but we didnt have too.Always nice to beat an unbeaten side whilst not at our best.....ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!

Fu*k that little bi*ch Pochettino. Sacrificed Champions league where they've  participated twice for 15 years, motivated his players to play the match of their life and at the end - lose. Agreed. I am glad we grinded out the victory but I was shocked when we took off Hazard. Yeah, he might of been tiring but so was Pedro and I think it is vital at those stages of the game that you keep your best player on the field. If we had a 2 goal advantage then understandable but a 1 goal lead is never safe. The amount of times teams take their star striker off then concede and regret it because they now need that star striker to win them the game. City done it with Aguero against Boro and Boro equalised late on and with quite few mins added on, they could not turn to him.

If Spurs equalised, we would have found it very difficult to win the game with the more defensive changes we made but as I said, luckily we held on but I was really surprised Hazard came off as he is the best player and one that can make something out of nothing. He was not poor, nor great, decent. Same with Pedro but he scored a great goal. Just felt Hazard came off way too early and I don't want us to regret something like this in forthcoming games.

I think usually, but I can't imagine elbowing and booting players in defence is too different from elbowing and booting players in midfield. 

Alderweireld's injured too, so I guess that had something to do with him playing there.

Someone uploaded the BT Post Match chat on YouTube so I rewatched it and Harry was worse than I remembered. The face on him, the guy is a bitter twunt and in all honesty it was unprofessional to do that as a pundit.

Just to let you know as I've posted on here before about the bin dippers winning the league.

Since Tottenham last won at the Bridge, my mate joined the army as a little snotty  nosed guardsman went though the ranks became the regimental sergeant major, served his full time, left with a full pension and has now settled back in civvie street. 

And has more medals than the whole of the Tottenham squad put together.

He will probably be a Chelsea pensioner time Tottenham win at the bridge again!

I found it amusing that we didn't play One Step Beyond at the end, because, well, beating the Spuds is just routine isn't it?

They were doing Spuds shirts 2 for a tenner at the boot sale in Northumberland Park this morning. Buy four and they throw in a free box of matches.
