That's 1 way to look at it..  Another way is if win by large convincing margin, sooner or later oppositions would lose hope, give up... "why do we even bother when chelsea are that damn good" soon will play in their mind, despair comes into play and affect their game eventually..

But if we only just do enough to get by, it actually gives them hope in the actual game time that they have realistic chance to cut the gap at any moment, that in itself is a motivation for them..

Or it could make them think f**k what's the point if they keep pulling off 1-0's when they are in a performance slump. I can't speak for anyone else but in 06/07 i was confident we could have caught United because they were playing well but i was confident we would have  a chance to pounce when they had a rut and we would have actually caught them if we didn't decide to turn into draw specialists at the end.

In 08/09 when they kept grinding those results i thought what's the point, in the most recent international break my mates who supported opposition clubs thought we would hit a rut of results when performances dipped, i can tell you they are a lot more nervous now the performances have dipped but the results keep coming.

Game is on sky sports mix for anyone who has basic sky package.

Got excited to see zouma. Oh well glad luiz is fit anyway.

This is going to be a battle. Disappointed cesc isnt playing, as he has been quality at Selhurst park for the last 2 seasons.

Think it will be tough but we will get 3 points.

Those 3am Monday mornings (4pm Sunday kick-off) are a killer especially if you work later that day, but it's worth it when we win.

I struggle to watch mid-week matches live as they're on at about 5 or 6am, but I used to tape the games on Foxtel IQ if I missed it.

Im off to Australia in April and if you don't mind me asking, is there any pubs/clubs that stay open till late for the PL games? Ill be there when we play at Old Trafford and (potentially) the FA Cup semi final so don't really want to miss them.

Whereabouts in Australia are you travelling to?

Pardew just said on Sky that Palace will target Cahill's side of the back 3.

Hopefully he plays as well as he did against West Brom.

Those vile barstewards in the Sky commentary room; Redknapp blatantly condoning and inciting opposition players to wind up and antagonise Costa to the point he explodes and retaliates.

I funking could not believe what I was hearing.

I will be writing a complaint to sky sports.

I would too, he is our weakest link at the back, together with Alonso; can't wait to sea Zouma in the line up
