That's just stupid. Every time we've ever played the false 9 crap with Hazard or someone else up top, it's never worked. We've got a striker, he's finally got a chance to start, why not use him.

Exactly, if we were to drop points, it will be contes fault, 30m+ striker cant get a game at home to bournemouth, not much chamce for youth if bats cant get on when hes the only striker in the squad

WTF this is Bournemouth at home FFS and he plays a false nine...very disappointing but I guess he had to give Pedro a start so someone has to suffer.  Bats will end up just like Lukaku .  He will want out at the end of the season, who can blame him? 

Winning is all that matters but it's not a good sign that when we don't have Costa we are unwilling to use Michy. 

His confidence will be rock bottom and we notoriously struggle when we try this false 9 formation

Gutted for Batshuayi, he must just not be doing it in training. Lets hope he comes off the bench and gets a goal or two!!

Maybe it will work, but I think i'm right in saying we've yet to win a  game playing the false 9. I remember a sh*t 0-0 draw with Utd with Schurrle up front, the 0-3 loss to Juventus or Roma or somebody with Hazard up front, and a couple of others with Hazard up there which we didn't win either.

People are allowed to expression concern that a young, 30m striker can't even get a game, without you blowing it out of proportion and mocking their criticisms.

The only thing I can think of is that Bournemouth's defence is very slow and won't be able to contain the trickery of the front three.

That being said, I'm sad for Michy.

Here we go again. This time no Costa and no Kante. Can't really see missing them is going to hold us up any.

You never know in this league, so we can't let our defences slip up in any way.

This line up is just terrible. Conte better buy a striker in january if he really doesnt have faith in batshuayi. He has been positive everytime he has come on but hey i dont see what happens during training. gutted for the lad though

There's always a prat. If Bats can't get a game at home when your number 1 forward is suspended then the future don't look good for that player.

Doesnt mean people want Conte out but the future of a player signed for 30m plus.

Trust in Conte , but feel bad for batman. He always looked decent when he played 

I think some of the words Conte used this week 'Bats is improving his game tactically week by week' suggests he isn't at the level required to fit his system yet. Disappointing for the lad, Conte though is in the business to win matches and we have to accept that Bats isn't producing enough on the training pitch to earn a start. Hopefully he comes on in the second half and scores the winner.

I get the concern people have with bats, but it shows me conte really wants this run to continue, Edin has showed he is leathal running through the middle so why play a kid who hasn't had game time when you're on an 11 winning streak, especially when you have one of the top players in the league who can play through the middle, the pressure would be immense and maybe conte thinks mentally he isn't quite ready and isn't willing to bank our run on that, I'm sure he will come in as a sub, I had a feeling this might happen, it isn't a false nine as people have said, the formation will be the same, he will play up top as striker, if you watch the games when we were scoring for fun he was up the pitch ahead of costa much of the time, it will be fine COYB

Who scores the goals with no Costa and no striker? 

Maybe conte believes that if Ronaldo and messi can do it, so can hazard? 

Just to add... looking at that bench shows just how much we badly need quality cover in January a full back, a CM and a RW forward please MR.A
