Well, you gotta question why we bothered spending so much money on him when we don't trust him to come in for just 1 game. I really wanted to see Batshuayi today and am really disappointed that he isn't getting a start.

Actually, I can believe it...I actually expected it after Conte's comments in the last few days. 

 

I don't agree with it though. I understand that Costa is undroppable...but he's suspended, and we're not going to give the only other senior striker in our team a run. We spent 30+mil on him. He has every right to feel aggreived. How can we expect him to improve and adjust to the PL, when he can't get on the field except for a few sub minutes here and there.

 

This isn't a top of the table clash. It's a home game against Bournemouth. If this isn't a chance for the lad to prove himself, there will never be a chance.

It's a forum where you discuss but if someone with very limited football knowledge slates the sh*t out of someone who is a brilliant football mind of course people will mention that point, the correct approach for a balanced minded person wouldn't be "not sure why the gaffer has done that seems odd, must know something we don't, I would have done ABC" then it is a discussion and you keep credibility , the approach is being criticised not the concept of discussing ideas

Annoying fixture. Hope we win!

I hope plan a works cause look at that bench 3 defenders, a defensive midfield player, rlc who has offered little when called upon, and our sole striker. Our attacking depth is a little short. 

Pretty surprised to see Michy on the bench.

When you call a manager who's taken us 6 points clear's decision as stupid because he didn't start a particular player then you deserve to be mocked. It's like some people just need any excuse to whinge about something.

Good reply, yet i still find this kind of quoting unnecessary. Comming out with #conteout isn't really keeping credibility and keeping the correct approach to a discussion, is it? :) 
I'm sure the majority of us expected Bat from the start, yet it seems he still isn't quite prepared to be alone up front. This is rather disappointing, he's been around for a while now.

Nevertheless, hope we win this one today! Boxing day mirracles had happened before tho..MASSIVE 3 POINTER TODAY!

Surely a bit of a kick in the balls for Michy but its ovbiously all about winning now and if Conte thinks we'll look better with Hazard up front today then i trust him. If things aren't working out Batshuyayi will come on so he needs to be ready to go.

 

Why does everyone think we're playing false 9, I'm pretty sure we're going to play with hazard up front.

Exactly, every team needs a second striker, as it stands we don't have one that's anywhere near ready. This was a complete f*ck up of a transfer, how are we supposed to compete with a false 9 if Diego is out for any extended period? it's not rocket science, looks like we'll splashing the cash in Jan.

It's basically the same. Hazard isn't going to stay up there and hold the ball up, or do the typical striker job. He's going to drop deeper and roam around a lot more than a Costa or another striker would do up there. At least I'd be very surprised if he stayed that far up.

Lets see how no-michy works. Sad thing is the media will make a meal of it. They will probably show Michy's face during the game and cut to Conte's...

Not going to slate Conte, it's not his fault if Michy was the wrong signing, it's just very frustrating, two seasons ago we had very decent back up in Remy.

It is quite possible the front three will work. I imagine the techniques of Pedro, Hazard and Willian could pose the Bournemouth defenders all sorts of headaches....

But I definitely feel for Bats. He would have been chomping at the bit for his chance after being stuck behind Costa, but is offered nothing. He's obviously no Costa, but he could have had a big chance at home, with the majority of the first XI surrounding him.

There's no point he be at the club if he can't be trusted in this game. So I guess he's being loaned in January.

I'm very surprised at this lineup. Is he trying for Pedro in a false 9 role or what? Bournemouth is not bad opposition to test Batshuayi against, after all. 

I also wouldn't personally have played Fabregas and Matic together either, nor do I think that Willian is particularly ideal in these situations. Bournemouth are more open than many sides around them, but I doubt they'll be as open at Stamford Bridge.

However, in Conte we trust.  

Whatever happens I do feel for Michy not getting a start, it's like Conte has no faith in the lad
