Nice result.

Great to see us finish with 3 academy players on the pitch.

Bats frustrating at times as he was trying to do too much.  Chalobah solid.  Pedro MotM

Overall we looked good going forward. Zouma looked very rusty. But that's expected after his injury and I think defensively we were caught out quite a bit.

Shame about Terry's red card

Very comfortable win, never looked like losing. Attack was very good, Chalobah, Loftus-Cheek, Willian and Pedro were pretty much spot on today. The only slight let down was the defence but it was never going to be easy with the way Peterborough play and 3 of our defenders being rusty.

I would love to see Chalobah start getting some games ahead of Matic. We are looking for a player who is comfortable on the ball and strong in midfield, Chalobah is exactly that. He's looked good every time i have seen him play. Out of all of our younger players who get's some first team football, he looks the best. I would rather we gave Chalobah a proper run than risk spending £40 odd million on another midfielder.

While I'm happy with the result, if I was Conte I'd be warning the players that if they perform like this against premiership opposition, it won't be so comfortable.
Peterborough were really poor

Stuck with commentary, sounded like Loftus Cheek and Chalobah played well, Pedro is a great finisher. Defence sounded shocking, Ivan is always running through treacle, Zouma isn't fit and Terry...legend, but doesn't inspire confidence anymore, not sure the three of them will play much more this season, good thing we have Ake again. Happy that Bats scored, was frustrating listening to him though.

Job done, we took the tie seriously and were never really troubled. That said it would have been interesting if they had taken the chance early doors. Good performances from Pedro, Cesc and Willian and Chalobah and RLC didn't look out of place.

To be fair, Terry was our best defender before the red card. It also wouldn't have happened without Zouma's mistake. Terry was having a pretty comfortable game.

Nice bounce back from a defeat ... lower league opposition granted, but we did make 9 changes and won easily !

JT's hurling himself on the floor reminded me of that legendary block he made on England duty. He must practice that move ... :)

Easy enough in the end. Some good performances and a good chance for some of the bit part players to get some game time.

Begovic - 7/10 - DIdn't really have much to do

Zouma - 5/10 - I know he's coming back from a long time out, but his positioning and awareness is still poor and I wasn't really impressed

Terry - 6/10 - Solid enough, stupid sending off though

Cahill - 6/10 - Ok.

Pedro - 8/10 - I'd like to give him higher, but that crossbar hit..f**king hell.

Ivanovic - 6/10 - Not really troubled

Fabregas - 8/10 - Ran the midfield

Chalobah - 8/10 - Very assured in possession mostly, works hard to get the ball back

Willian - 6.5/10 - Decent, good goal

Loftus-Cheek - 6/10 - He showed glimpses of what he can do with bursts through the mdidle and some good passes, and even got an assist, but i've rated him down because there were several occasions when he lost the ball and instead of trying to win it back, just gave up. It's that kind of mentality which has always been his problem and its frustrating to see because he could be great.

Batshyaui - 7/10 - Good hold up play, nice goal

Subs:

Aina - 5/10 - Don't rate him

Kante - 6/10

Azpilicueta - 6/10

Fair enough, radio commentary never tells the full story.

It's good to see that many of our young players are showing themselves to be worth their places in the squad. I'm glad that Conte isn't afraid to give them a chance over older, more established (and under-performing) squad players, in contrast to previous managers.

Pedro was great today, my MOTM. On his day he is fantastic, the problem is you never know which Pedro you're going to get.

I was fairly underwhelmed by Batshuayi. He wasn't bad, but I think he should be doing better against opposition like this. His attitude seemed a bit off too, however it's always difficult to know what's really going through a player's head.

I like Loftus Cheek, strong and deceivingly quick, I love the way that he isn't afraid to burst through the middle and take defenders on, he's a talented kid and needs to play consistently, any Championship team would be lucky to have him (on loan).

Good result, don't think it taught us anything we didn't already know.

Based on the performances of Zouma, Terry and Ivanovic I can see why Ake has been recalled. Zouma doesn't look ready for the first team yet, Ivan's legs have gone and Terry just doesn't seem suited to a back three at all.

Pedro as a wingback, fine going forward but not sure Premier League defences will give him the time and space he got today. Defensively, there's question marks.

RLC, good performance, would definitely benefit from a loan and regular playing time.

Chalobah looks very confident and assured in possession, can see why we allowed Mikel to leave and have promoted Nate.

Michy, struggling to see why we spent so big on him right now. I get that he was probably eager to impress but I thought he made a lot of poor decisions. Was too blinkered with trying to shoot throughout the game.

The thing is he needs to play....yes he has done a few things ok today but numerous time he has tried to turn and shoot when a pass would have been the better option...as someone said earlier, he looks like Sturridge used to be....I guess we can only persevere but really I thought his progress would have been better than what I have seen today against a lower side.

who can blame him when he's only given a mere few seconds in premier league?  That kind of thing is always going to mess up with player's mind... Batshuayi should have been used a lot more than he was and given he's the only back up to costa, I don't see why can not..   Not to mention to be used in 3-5-2 formation sometimes..

He's holding up play is quite good and I could see his willingness to pass, I don't think he's the type of selfish player or player who doesn't know when to pass.. He just needs to have the manager's trust which he doesn't have it for the time being..

Pedro is much better for us when we are the ones doing all of the attacking. When we play like we did against Tottenham, he is pretty useless. It's just not his game to play slow. When we play slow, he is clumsy and get's bullied off the ball. It's just how he has been throughout his career.

He's not the only one who benefits when we play fast though. I think all of our attacking players look excellent when we play that way.

I would be very disappointed if he went on loan to a Championship club. I think it's too much of a step down for him. If he is going to get loaned out, it's got to be with a Premier League club.

Great to see 6k Posh fans have a good day out and their club pick up a decent pay check. Much respect to you lads for giving us a very decent game, hope you go up this season.

A premier league club would be the better option, but I'm not too fussed, as long as he gets game time regularly at this stage.

and it gets to question why we play slow?

Saw the last ten mins on the Paddy Power app. Didn't realise they showed some games.

In any case you could tell the gulf in quality just from that last ten. Pedro's goal was sweet and we really should have gotten at least one more.
