May 23, 20179 yr Right guys, who do we fancy to replace Steve Holland? Can I go on record in thanking SH for the fabulous job he's done for our club, and wish him every success in his England management career. Edited May 23, 20179 yr by doctorblue
May 23, 20179 yr Whoever Antonio wants. Vital we don't just shoe horn in someone just for old time sakes, it has to be his choice.
May 23, 20179 yr Agree with chelsbear, let conte pick who he wants should also let him have final say on the transfers too in my opinion not emenalo
May 23, 20179 yr Conte being in charge of transfers and having a choice in the assistant manager could prove crucial. We really should be doing everything we can to do everything the way he wants it done, because he's already proved what he's capabale of, and I can really see him staying on at chelsea for a long time and building a dynasty. Wish he would try hard to get rid of a lot of our loan players we currently have out, having 30+ loan players is crazy, especially when most of them arent even worth that much
May 23, 20179 yr My ideal choice would be promoting a new British/club number two. I do like the system we have had down the years of the club appointing a number two (Clarke, Wilkins, Holland) as they stayed beyond manager changes so gave us the continuity required. However at the same time Conte has earned the right to choose his own person, so if he wants something different then it's not an argument worth alienating him over. Edited May 23, 20179 yr by Argo
May 23, 20179 yr Agree with what has been said already. It has to be Conte who chooses his assistant.
May 23, 20179 yr Maybe Eddie newton, who along with Steve stepped up to cover us before guus came in last year.

May 24, 20179 yr What's Vialli up to these days? Played at Juve and with Italy at the same time as Conte and of course has a massive affinity with Chelsea. I guess it would all depend whether they get on or not

Conte, due to having the benefit of being at one of Italy's biggest clubs and with one of its best directors of football at the helm, doesn't. This idea that managers need full control over transfers is absurd.

May 24, 20179 yr Has enough back room staff before Steve Holland stepped down. As long as he knows and gets info on English players, he knows the European market as well as anyone. Emenola will do his bit to make his job justified and hopefully will be firm on what he wants. Bringing someone in who is English will only happen if he isn't totally comfortable with the Premier league.
