December 27, 20178 yr Can't suppress a shudder every time I see the FSW. I'm clearly still traumatised
December 27, 20178 yr Only Liverpool can pay 75m for a CB who wanted to go to them all along. It's so ridiculous that even City didn't pony up the cash. Van Dijk costs more than any of the current strikers bar Lukaku.
December 27, 20178 yr DeBruyne yet again showing his passing skills. Edited December 27, 20178 yr by charierre

December 27, 20178 yr City just move the ball around so quick....hope Antonio is watching how to break down a stubborn defence; City should have had 3 already.

I suspect you don't have to do much at anything to achieve God status at Newcastle, only to be tarred and feathered when they realise they've been (willingly) duped.

Still think Silva makes this City team better. The other Silva should be taken off for Sane, I need goals and Aguero is having a sh*t game.

December 27, 20178 yr too many big gaps in Newcastle's defence.....lined up like a colander; can't see them keeping it down to one
December 27, 20178 yr What a thoroughly depressing performance this is by Newcastle...they have just one centre back out there but are being allowed to cruise...no wonder Man City have a winning streak with so many teams not even attempting to score a goal even when they're losing..
December 27, 20178 yr Not a great advert for supposedly the best entertaining and competitive league in the world. What's happened is that the rich teams with the best players are expected to win, the mid lower and bottom feeders simply rely on getting a point and surviving and therefore are forced to do nothing except defend.....the EPL can only blame itself.
December 27, 20178 yr What a depressing game, City don't get out of walking mode and Newcastle just slog it up field.
December 27, 20178 yr Not sure why I spent my time watching this...the result was never in doubt anyway.....Newcastle wasted the first half an hour of the match sitting 11 + FSW behind the ball in their own 18 yard box...
December 27, 20178 yr City are 11 wins away from winning the title ... could actually be 10 or even 9 if we mess up again ! Edited December 27, 20178 yr by Londonisblue
December 27, 20178 yr And yet in the last five minutes, when Newcastle had a go, city looked vulnerable...I know they have a bloody good side, but teams are showing them far too much respect

December 28, 20178 yr This is the most boring title race that i can remember. It's getting a bit ridiculous how easy this has been for City now. They are good, i can see that, but they aren't the best side i have seen in this league. To be winning all but 1 game in 20 is not good for the league.
December 28, 20178 yr One thing I've found is that after living my entire life just outside Manchester and having witnessed daily the smug cocky arrogance of United's fans for about 30 years and the City fans hatred of it, that they have not only surpassed United on the field and in finance but their support has surpassed United's in its smug cocky arrogance too. They're unbearable.

To be winning all but 1 game in 20 is not good for the league. all but the top 5 clubs have regressed this season. heck, even us and utd have regressed a little bit. spurs have stayed pretty much the same, and liverpool have improved a bit. burnley is the only club that's surprised me this season by how consistent they've been, but apart from them the rest of the bottom 10-15 teams have been so poor and defences are conceding for fun. every season we say next season will be better, but then it's always disappointing in some ways when it comes around.
December 28, 20178 yr I think Spurs have regressed though think that is due to injuries, selling players and the Wembley factor. They can recover providing they keep their players. Agree on Burnley and think it is great they can compete with the big boys and bizarrely think Dyche will stay. United have improved although slightly. City are the major surprise and credit needs to go to Pep for getting them to this position though I still think wait until end of January before 'crowning them champions.' I caught the headline 'Pep, very difficult to play when teams only defend.' I find that remark kind of surprising as we have encountered that many times on our path to titles, teams in the bottom half put 11 behind the ball. It will be interesting to see how this parked bus mentality impacts their game.
December 28, 20178 yr I'm sure Liverpool fans will claim the purchase of Van Dyk is a sign of ambitions, I see it as an act of desperation to pay an extraordinary amount for any defender, even City didn't pay the asked price.Southhmapton is laughing all the way to the bank, they'd never believe anyone would pay the asked price. It will make or break (likely) Klopp, somehow this will be seen as the last piece of jigsaw for him. I better Jose will be mad, even Liverpool is paying striker price for a defender.
December 28, 20178 yr I would have payed 75m to get Van Dijk to Chelsea, I just think that's the current market. He would have been a perfect fit IMO. Makes you think what a prime JT would be worth these days, 300m +?
