Following Our Nearest & Dearest Rivals, 2017/2018

Almost certain that we are dropping points tomorrow again.
I know we are just trying to be optimistic, a draw would be fantastic on current form

That Chelsea defence from the 2004-2005 title winning season was unbelievable. 15 goals conceded in 38 games. 5 conceded at home. Cech, Carvalho, Gallas, Terry, Ferreira and Makalele was a special defensive unit. Terry and Carvalho best centre back pairing in the world at the time. Perfect partnership.

That season, our defence was at its most impregnable with JT and Gallas at CB and Bridge at LB.

Best defensive record in a single season in premier league history. Scary good team. Chelsea could genuinely say that in their positions they had some of the best players in the world. Cech, Terry, Carvalho, Makalele, Robben, Lampard, Duff, Gallas and Gudjohnsen. Infact, you could make a case for almost every single player who was a regular starter.

Jesus f**king christ atrocious defending from Southampton. What is up with defenders in this league. Gifting lvpool an opener

Given our two next league fixtures after Monday are both Manchester clubs away and both Liverpool and Spuds have relatively easy games we just might be outside the top 4 looking in. On the bright side we still have to play Liverpool and Spurs at home which might just decide our fate.

Jose Mourinho has Sanchez, Pogba, Martial, Lindgaard, Lukaku, Mata, Rashford and still can't get anything out of them.

He's really really bad at attacking philosophy especially as the years go by. Imagine what Jurgen Klopp could do with that side? He has good attackers but he's not making good enough use out of them, his rigid style of play is outdated.

He really isn't getting enough scrutiny, United have had years and years of transition since Fergie left, Van Gaal put a lot into the team and developed and brought in and developed the likes of Martial, Rashford & Lindgaard. Not to mention the money that's been invested into United over the years and they're absolutely piss poor, nothing to show for it. Chelsea has a valid excuse, United don't. Yet I keep seeing the media praise Jose for playing with a broken team, what f**king broken team?

Honestly, in a way I'm glad because the longer Jose stays there I'm convinced United will never win that title, but at the same time, it's disgusting how Conte's career is on the line where Jose is getting off Scott-free.

I think if Jose was in the same position with us like Conte he would be under pressure especially given our recent results....hypothetical of course

at least Southampton are giving it a go......but they will get caught on the break

Or just do the same thing as the first time they conceded...

In regards to Jose, I think if he doesn't improve the squad or get the players he wants in the summer, then I expect him to leave after next season. I get the feeling he is easily bored.

JM's has the attacking players his problem is getting a balanced midfield and some of his defenders are past their peak.

Good to see Benitez take points off him, that must have been painful.

I would love to have Martial at Chelsea, and I wouldn't mind betting he makes himself available for transfer in the summer.

Yeah that United defence is suspect. On paper it's a top team, in reality it's not so great.

That is why against certain teams he plays as though 8 in defence and 2 attackers.

Just seen an interesting stat, JM has never won against Newcastle at St.James's park in 7 visits.

I know 2 of those losses were against a reshuffled Chelsea team that had just won the title. Another of those defeats was in the Fa Cup against yet another reshuffled Chelsea team that was basically down to 9 men in the second half due to Wayne Bridge going off, and Damien Duff being banged up. Stats can sometimes be misleading.
