I fully expect Zouma to be here next season he is one of the best out and out stopper we have and one of the most experienced.

Him and one of Christensen or Tomori start at OT. Keep luiz far away from the back 4.

This is a very flawed logic, accept average because we've had average before?

Many thought Lampard looked average. Never know when a lump of Coal could become a diamond.

Logic is just cause he appears average now he still deserves a chance. Especially given the rank we have given many chances to.

LOL good point. I knew I was missing someone. Too easy to lose track with all the players we have.

Ah that’s a tough one then. I don’t really rate Luiz but I can’t see him being sold. I feel like we’re in a weird situation of not really having a best CB pairing. Christensen while having good positioning is so weak in the challenge I feel he can be a liability.

I’d like to see Zouma & Rudi tried. But then i’d like to see Ampadu get as many minutes as possible this season as well.

In terms of Christensen being a liability, the same could be said of Zouma when he goes charging almost Luiz-esque to win a ball he doesn’t need to.

That’s what used to lead to his last ditch tackles a lot of the time before, fortunately he’s athletic enough to get back.

I’m sure Frank will assess them all equally but I’d like to see luiz used more in a JT leader under Conte role with a bit more game time.

I’d go with:

1. Rudiger

2. Christensen

3. Zouma

4. Luiz/Ampadu

5. Tomori (send on loan to a PL team).

Der Panzer is getting his gears realigned & soon will be back on the pitch crushing those limp dick strikers

I see you've learned the right gender of Panzer. :laugh2::mouthzipped:

my wife told me I could use Die when there is multiple Panzers involved. Since there is only one in this case, Der is the proper identifer.

Or die Panzerin, if it’s a lady Rüdiger.

Yea but suicide passes at CL level and other unforgivable mistakes, it’s hard to fully trust him.

Zouma has no clue where he is positionally but he doesnt panic like Christensen and he is brilliant at recovering  when he makes a mistake, hard call but if zouma can get some tactical discipline he is far the superior athlete.

Still think the 'suicide pass' is as much on Fabregas than it was Christensen.

Zouma doesn't panic because he has no sense of danger, a man could run straight at him and he wouldn't sense danger until he has gone past and he has to chase him 500 yards back to make a last ditch challenge. Christensen is far ahead of Zouma when it comes to making it at a team of Chelsea's level.

Going on the incredibly optimistic version of this, its is similar to JT and Carva, Carva would charge in but had enough pace to get himself out of trouble and could get a great last ditch tackle in. JT would read the game but occasionally get skinned for pace...

If Zooms and Chris can become half the partnership of JT and Carva then I will be happy

Rudiger and Christensen for me. Rudiger is more of a fine tuned Zouma in my eyes.

True and that would be my preferred partnership ideally however with Rudi still a doubt I was being as optimistic as iI could be 🙂

Can’t really disagree much I just think zouma can be coached into a decent CB he looked good under Jose before his injury

Agree, but that was in a very deep block. Hasn't looked the same since sadly.

Rudiger and Christensen or Rudiger and Zouma will be the pairings. I really hope Tomori is given the chance as well. He looked really shaky in the Pre-season though.

Zouma will get better but his ceiling is not far from what he has been for a couple of years. Managers trust him because his physical attributes are there. He just isn't a very clever footballer. But we have use of him. He is quite experienced and still young. Still he made 3 massive errors in the game. That naturally is a worry.
