Which striker do you think Chelsea should turn to next?

From what I can gather, the board would be more willing to spend big on Morata but Belotti is Conte's preferred choice.

Only days ago they were saying Morata was Conte's first choice and Lukaku was Emenalo's. Silly season!

I've grown on Belotti a lot the past few days. If you asked me a week ago I'd say leave him and get Morata, but after seeing a few clips of him he looks like a hell of a player.

Please sign him up Roman!

I would be very surprised if we got either Morata or Belotti. I have a feeling we'll end uip with a 2nd rate player like Llorente instead.

I rate Belotti but I just see graft, tap ins (albeit clinical finishes), and poached efforts - basically what I hope Tammy can become. I'm not convinced he has the quality inside the box to link up with Hazard/Willian. Dare I say he reminds me of Kezman?

On the other hand Morata seems to have that "Real Madrid class", makes the game look effortless.

For me it's Diego (until January), Morata (CF), Llorente (target man/plan B), Keita (left inside forward/second striker) or Batshuayi (poacher)

Diego staying would probably still be the best option. Lukaku or no Lukaku.

I think Morata may end up being the player we sign and he has scored well in two leagues so I'll be comfortable with that.

I do wonder though why there have been no links with Mauro Icardi. Personal life aside he's arguably one of the best players left on the market. He'd cost a bomb but if we're buying someone for a huge price anyway I'd think he ticks the most boxes. 71 goals in 125 games for Inter (Lukaku has 68 in 141 for Everton).

Diego has made it clear time and again that he doesn't want to be here, and his antics can derail us at any time, I don't think we can rely on him, even if he somehow patches things up with Conte. Come Janurary when Athletico can buy players again, he will be kicking up a storm to leave.

He may not kick up a storm if it's agreed he'll move to Atletico before the season even starts? Seems pointless to me to have Diego just sat on his hands for 6 months when he can still play for us until January (while Morata adapts to the PL?)

Best to use Costa to our advantage...its in his interest to play well till January given that's its a world cup year and AM have other striker options...with Hazard being out for the first few weeks of the season a good start will be essential...

I'd take the Costa fall 2016, I'd never take the Costa spring 2017. Assuming Costa's motivaation has gone I don't matter whether it is Morata or Belotti, both can do the job. Some are very critical towards Llorente. I think There is no big difference scoring 15 goals for a lower table team and 20 goals for the champons.

Might sound silly but is there no way we could pursue Griezmann? Could use Costa as part of the deal.

No as they can't replace him till Jan.

We won't be buying a record transfer half way through a season who can't play CL football

Didn't think of it like that.
Good point.

Not sure if this explains why there have been no links but his Opta stats make pretty dire reading compared to the likes of Morata, Lacazette, Belotti, and Harry Kane.

I like icardi, he has an excellent goal scoring record, and he is excellent technically, links play well, and has become something of a leader. There have been hardly any murmurs of him leaving though, he signed a new contract last season with a £100m buy out clause, and with Chinese investment, I don't think he is at all obtainable.

Would rather just gamble on Michy to be honest. We did spend £30m on him afterall.

If you're going to be spending £70m/£80m+ then it should be on a sure thing which Lukaku was.

Aubemyang is 3 times the player Lukaku will ever be.

He's just superior in al ist every aspect of striker play. A.C. Milan however are rolling in cash just now so they will no doubt offer insane wages

I don't think Lukaku will be a sure thing for United and might struggle to improve upon Zlatan.

We would easily be able to blow AC Milan out of the water in terms of wages. The Premiership is way ahead of Serie A in terms of money and value

To put it into perspective. Last season AC Milan's highest paid player was earning around 3.5 million per year. The likes of Hazard and Costa were earning over 10 million year

He is unquestionably my choice and I think the most obtainable too.

Cant see it though.
