Its funny really that in the summer most people was going mad with the potential signing of Barkley, now his the best thing in the world :laugh2:

Who has said that?

Just being sarcastic but its funny how 15m changes people's views or maybe its because Chelsea need another attacking player.

Don't forget, even if he is sh*t, we'll probably make profit selling him on.

No doubt, is that why everyone is excited now? :laugh2:

He's 24
A type of player we need
Has potential
Is cheap
And we've f*cked over, Everton.
I'm not particularly excited but I like those prospects.

Of course it changes people's views.  At 30-35m people were obviously concerned as that amount of money would be considered a major risk.  5 or so months later we're getting the same player for 15-20m less, which is a massive difference.

Not really a alot of money in today's market, its just funny in August its a poor signing to now its a good one.

When you basically halve the asking price it's still a good deal, no matter how much money is involved.

Im happy because Chelsea need something different going forward. Chelsea still need someone better than they have got to play with Hazard, Mahrez is on a different level to Pedro, Barkley and Willian.

I've been against this transfer for as long as we have been linked but at £15M in today's market he really can't be sniffed at. Lets see if he can start to fulfil that potential he showed so early in his career.

People forgetting that he can be had for free in the summer, we would be paying a £15m to secure him and have him now, not as 'cheap' as it may seem, just about right in my opinion.

Well it's a small price to pay in general terms regarding players moving from one EPL to the other and one at 24 and an English international.

We could wait for the contract to run down and another team swoop in and lose out for a fee will easily make back by selling one of the 20 odd players we have out on loan that we have no intention of using.

It's a low risk fee these days to secure something you want.

Yep, I didn't want him and truth be told, still not that fussed. I'm crossed between thinking he'll be handy to have on the bench but then again will block the way for the likes of RLC, Mount, Hudson-Adoi, Musonda..........whoever. At least at only £15M (only!!!) it won't be the end of the world if he is an unmitigated flop.

It's a decent deal but not a mind boggling steal as the initial reaction was. I mean any more money added to that and we're stepping into Sanchez territory. The other clubs that would want him are probably second tier like Spurs and Liverpool who we would comfortably fight off.

Medical was done last night according to Alan Myers (always does stuff for Everton on SSN, deadline day etc) and Ross and reps are at the Bridge right now dotting the i's and crossing the t's

Just went on spurscommunity for a laugh, them idiots still think he 'rejected' us last summer because he wanted them. Winding me up more than it should  Its absolute bollocks. Golden handshake and he more or less has been our player since end of summer window.

Liverpool beat us to Ox Chamberlain a few months back....

Just a shame we're not looking at top quality players. There's nothing stopping us making an offer for Sanchez, but we won't.

Could easily be his reps have told interested clubs he is off to City.

I can see Sanchez going for not much more than Barkley, the big difference is Sanchez will be probably triple on what Barkley is with an insane amount of agent fees on top.

Llorente to Spuds too.. but I mean of course it depends on the role offered. Barkley can refuse to sign for us now and choose whoever he wants in the summer anyway with a bigger signing on fee etc.
