It's nice that the commentators are saying how huge this result is....

I mean, we were down to 10 men after 15 minutes when our captain got sent off. We had Azpi in a new position, and we had Rudiger and Christensen playing their first games. And apparently it's surprising that a defence that has never played together and hindered by being a man down isn't very effective.

Never mind that despite being 10 men, we dominated the game, never mind we pulled one pack, got another player sent off, then pulled another back. Yes...this win for Burnley against 9 men is truly one for the ages.

Cahill let us down massively today not what we need from the captain 

Great fight with ten then nine men unlucky not to come away with a point. Burnley you ain't got the bootle to stay up!

So dissapointed in Michy - he had a massive chance to impress today - granted Cahill getting sent off and Boga getting subbed must have hurt his chances to impress but that didn't seem to faze Morata much.

Not likely, the reds were reds, but he missed some key decisions, that free at the end was never a free and a yellow. should have been at least 5 minutes of injury time too. 

Positives though: Morata played a blinder when he came on, Rudiger looks excellent, Willian and Alonso both had storming games. Gaz f**ked us at the start and we couldn't recover. Our second half performance was excellent though, we just need to strengthen our bench, it's not panic stations quite yet.

 

Never a good sign when the ref is the main attraction. Never want to set eyes on him again.

Good second half and Morata is a touch of class.

Good, two good debuts for him and Morata. Christensen seemed ok as well. At least there's some positives. Need to get some players in over the next couple of weeks.

My word what a match. Embarassing refereeing. Just embarassing. Heaton allowed to waste five minutes never looked like getting a yellow card. Both reds questionable and yet a rake down the shin later in the match gets yellow.

We rocked and rolled after the card but Conte got them under control at halftime. Morata made a massive difference and if only he had left that ball from Christensen we would have been 3-3.

Kante was epic. Willian. too. Massive spirit to nearly snatch it against the odds.

Shame that Cesc and Cahill are suspended for next week. Shows again the folly of the board this summer selling Matic while Bakayoko was injured and loaning Pasalic and Baker without any cover. I also feel for Boga and perhaps for Michy too who weren't really able to show their talents post red card.

We need signings but that second half should lift our spirits. KTBFFH!

Yeah that's the problem. Have to play Luiz at the back or we have a bare bones and very young defense for two hard games. Honestly don't know what the solution is.

It is not the fault of the players as their respective characters are what they are. The point is that the board should recognise the fact that we have no ruthless players at the club. It should not just be about speed, passing and finishing. We have to look at the mental qualities of players as well.

This season is going to be nightmare and what is worse is that it is of our own making. The media is going to have a field day. God alone knows where this is going to end up. 2015 was awful, last season could have gone either way after the Arsenal game and now this. There is a trend here and the club needs to address it. Build a team. Build a squad.

Morata + Christensen + Rudiger + Kante.. positives.

no he's not useless, but i think he suits a two man strikeforce better. he really doesn't deserve criticism on his own for the first half. 

Fair play to the lads in the 2nd half they showed the fighting mentality.

 

but really Cahill is a liability he does seem to be suspect and was so earlier at the start of last season.
