I think you're sadly right, which makes his recruitment all the more bizarre, especially for 30M! No way we make a profit on him, so what was the rationale? Conte clearly never wanted him. 

Great fight in the second half, referee was keen to make us lose, nothing fishy going on there. I think we all fear the next two games now, the bench will look interesting to say the least.

Morata - Looks class, don't think we'll miss Costa for a moment. Really clever assist for the 2nd goal as well, much more intelligent player than Diego.
Rudiger - Although I thought he was at fault for the 3rd losing his man, in the 2nd half he grew into it much more.
Christensen - Didn't look out of place at all, he'll get a chance from the start now Cahill is suspended, and hopefully he'll grab it with both hands.

 

The obvious negatives:

The board - If they don't look at that first half and do something to
Alonso - He was one of the ones who played absolutely out of his skin last season and he looks like he's dropped back down a level now. Was surprised we didn't go down to 8 when he dived in the box. Takes a good freekick though, i'll give him that.

Yeah, we shouldn't. The squad lost their heads during the first half after the send off. They managed to regroup albeit not enough. Hopefully this is our one solitary off week for this season. We really need to be mentally and physically prepared for the next game

Bakayoko has had a knee problem which he is still recovering from. Moses was suspended after being sent off in the F.A cup final. Pedro injured his ankle in training and Hazard isn't even training with the first team yet, he's still recovering from a broken ankle.

Put Azpi in CM next to Kante.  I think he's done a job there under Jose. 

Cahill did similar last season at the start gave games away this has to stop

That first half performance and that referee performance did us in. I'm really please that Morata made a big difference when he came on but unfortunately it was too little too late. If this doesn't serve as a wake up call to the board then nothing will be.

I think Cahill is the kind of player that starts the season poor and grows into it but for a CB at his peak, this shouldn't be an issue for him but it continues to plague him

Thanks I knew about eden wasn't sure why we had so many other issues 

Boga starting today says it all really. You should never be in that position at the start of the season, especially as defending champions aiming for the CL too. The board just hasn't backed Conte and it's as bizarre as it is obvious.
