1. Van Ginkel. Already Owned. (Fekir, more a Joe Cole type player, though. Scores and creates a lot.)

2. Mahrez

3. Sandro (or give Baba a chance)

I would add that a top quality second cf is needed too, since obviously Batshuayi is below Courtois when it comes to Conte's estimation of the former's forward play.

He is now. Not then. He was quite inconsistent in his first season and a bit. Mata on the other hand rarely had a bad game and had a habit of scoring big goals in important matches.

Absolutely. He was key to pretty much all the goalscoring. Whether crossibg and passing, set peices or scoring himself.

In that old Mazacar trip is was just that order...

Mata

Hazard

Oscar

In terms of contribution with consistent quality.

True. Where did FIFA fair play go? Seemed that's all they were concerned about when Chelsea were at the very top.

Putting all rumours together.

Deductive powers (!) say:

1) Musonda going in loan.

= Zaha coming in. (Lemar? Mahrez?)

2) Luiz on his way out

= Bonucci or Van Dijk coming in

3) Kenedy going on loan

= Sandro coming in

4) Batshuayi heading out?

= Striker coming in. (Belotti!!!..... :p very)

Noone buys that many players in the mid season window. So I think Sandro and Zaha are the ones the club will be working on. Maybe a Luiz-Bonucci swap.

Bringing in:

Sandro

Zaha / Lemar / Mahrez

Bonucci / Van Dijk

For:

Kenedy

Musonda

Luiz

Would be fantastic

(This looks like it'll be a busy window whatever happens.)

The Hodgeson quotes were very interesting re. Zaha

He's ready to give everything if he plays.

We've sat down and are sorting the matter out

Playing up Zaha's quality.

Teams are justified in showing interest.

It seems like there has been contact made and Zaha is interested in leaving with the club also conceding that he may go for the right price.

that was poor positioning and awareness from alonso. he just doesn't have the speed to deal with pacey attackers unfortunately. he was fantastic last season, but this season he is lacking for whatever reason. maybe it's the first season performance high when a player comes in, plays fantastic but then tapers off second season. it happens. but yeah, the distance that was covered by el sharawwy to get that shot in shouldn't have been allowed.

A few of us saw it last season but had our heads bitten off when we suggested being proactive and upgrading on a title winning team.

He's been playing so many games in a very demanding role when it comes to Stamina.

Understandable that his performances might be down levels... That and and the fact he is probably seen as more of a serious player to be wary of (?).

We need players that will be in the starting 11, we have enough mediocre squad players.  I don't see us challenging the likes of Barca, RM, PSG Utd and City any longer in the transfer market or for any future titles; players fees and wages have gone beyond what we can realistically afford, especially now with the announcement of the new stadium.  We need a back up striker for sure with Conte not entirely convinced with Bat's, I'd look at another holding midfielder to replace Kante we look totally vulnerable when he is absent, most of our other midfielders tend to have an attacking mindset.  A replacement or back up for Alonso is also required, what we have now is not cutting it.....

We badly need goal scorers. Too reliant on Hazard and Morata.

tell me what team isn't reliant on two of their best attacking talents? barca rely on messi and suarez, utd rely on pogba and lukaku, real madrid rely on ronaldo and god knows who else, bayern rely on lewandowski and muller, spurs rely on kane and one other, maybe heung min or alli (?), city rely on kdb and sterling, psg rely on neymar and cavani etc. i get your point though, but i don't think it's necessarily being reliant on anyone, but more the issue is we are just not able to finish chances. you could have messi in the side, but if we can't finish chances it doesn't matter. last season pedro and willian were contributing much more and we weren't so reliant on just one or two players. they are off form this season, but it is what it is.

After seeing some of the clips on here I like the look of Leon Bailey and Fekir and think with Willian and Pedro teams know their games we need something a little different to surprise teams.

and Mane, and Silva, and Aguero, and Jesus...................................................

oh no doubt they have the best squad in terms of overall quality in the league, maybe even in europe. city wouldn't be city this season without pep though. he has brought an identity and style of football to them which has made almost every player in that first team look world class, even if they aren't. their bench options are average though. aguero is probably the only notable name on that bench who has the ability to change a game.

According to this season, Fekir is showing better performances, also has a better statistics of goals, chances and assists.

what is he good at? what's his favoured position?

I'd say his best position is playing the n.10 role, but he also can be useful in our formation when we play with the trio in front, he can dribble, he has creativity and he is looking to score goals. His positioning is pretty good, he also played few games as a striker but I wouldn't say that striker is for him.

Looks good, though in looking at the clip front page bizarrely thought he was a female football star :face_palm:

  Let's be inclusive, our women's team probably has some upgrades on what we have now!
