definitely should look at richarlison - altho he can go over a bit easy, he looks very lively and has an eye for goal - possibly replace willian

thats all we need folks IMV

We did look at him. He rejected us to go to Watford. He might be interested to come to us but who knows

Players currently having contract issues and disputes that could improve us atm from what I see is Ghoulam, Goretzka and Carrasco (Which can tempt him if we drop Atleti into the EL)

I have heard Chelsea will make a move for Di Maria in January, we were offered Lucas Moura but Conte wants Di Maria as he is experienced and can play multiple positions

Di Maria has issues here in England right? I'm not sure if that's a good choice.

Being in a relationship with PSG though could bring us some luck in the transfer department as long as they can't cherrypick our squad for exorbitant amounts of money

Could do with a left wing back Alonso Has looked average so far

Apparently Jose has been told to sell a couple before he buys in Jan. Won't be easy getting any player from Jose, but I would take a punt on Shaw.

Though I guess Baba should be in contention by then. But if we can offload Baba and get Shaw for a similar fee, then it would be a good move.

LWB has to be our main priority. If we're intent on going with a 352 we could look at offloading a winger to bring in more CM cover. Seems silly having Willian, Pedro and Musonda all waiting to play second fiddle to Eden.

Shaw has been almost nonexistant at Utd though (Mostly because Jose doesn't like him for various reasons). I fear that if we went in for him, he'd take months to get to the physical condition Conte demands from his wingbacks.

I know Conte can instill drive and passion but physical conditioning takes time.

Either of those 3 would be great especially Carrasco who can play right or left wing back, as well as fitter forward.

Goretzka has a broken leg, so wouldn't be a January signing, but it would be great business to pick him up on free in the summer.

Max Mayer is also running his contract down, and he has been impressing in a much deeper role this season. Could be a nice signing to deputise for fabregas.

Didn't know about the broken leg.

Haven't heard of Meyer, any good?

Edit: Just watched him, feels like a young Modric but stockier. Could be good but players from the Bundesliga usually need a bedding in period so time will tell.

If we sign a LWB in January it should be Diego Laxalt from Genoa, has all the attributes to be a success under Conte and it would be an easy deal to make.

Modric is a pretty good comparison I think. Only seen him a handful of times, and he is best and tidy, great technique, keeps the ball moving. I don't think he scores enough goals to play furher forward, so I found it interesting to read how well he has been playing in centre midfield.

Agree, but look at the long term impact. We are all familiar with how good shaw can be. He is still just 22. Moreover, with him in the squad, we can even go to a back 4 which we simply can't with either alonso or baba as LB.

moreover this being a World Cup year, he might be motivated to leave united to get playtime (kdb and mata in 2013), I know he does not have much chance of making the England squad, but I am simply talking from the playwr's perspective of how he might try hard to get fit and get game time.

No he looks extremely unmotivated according to United fans. He's having a hard time losing weight and is being kept out of the squad by Ashley young ffs

Luke Shaw needs to go to a midtable club and seriously get his career back on track.

Oscar kept out Kdb during the jose reign. 2-3 years down the line one of them is a bang average player plying his trade in the chinese league and the other is regarded as one of the best AMs in the world playing in one of the best teams in the world.

I am disagreeing with Luke Shaw's current assessment, but I think we have seen enough of Jose's "bench" or "not good enough" players (Kdb, Lukaku, Salah, Luis) go elsewhere and absolutely shine.

not sure who we need or will even target in January now we have changed formation. We seemed to have coped okay with injuries, and we will have already had the busiest time of the season.

We would probably be best trying to sort contract extensions out, and laying ground work for summer moves, since it is a world cup year.

Not sure we even know our best team as with the midfield injuries we haven't seen much of our recent new additions.

A better striker off the bench.

Assuming Luiz goes (?) we will have another CB to fill that midfield role?

LWB cover unless the consensus is Azpi can cover adequately, I haven't seen him in this role recently.

Rumoured with Leon Bailey. I can see a the club buying and loaning him out for a year.

Big fan of Bailey but wouldn’t loan him as he is already a starter for Leverkusen. Bags of potential and will offer us pace & trickery. Will be smart business to buy him in Jan before his value skyrockets further in the summer and we get stuck in a bidding war. One of Bailey, Malcolm or Fekir will do in January.

Sandro is a tricky one because even though he immediately upgrades our LB position, I feel Alonso just needs an understudy/ long term replacement. Rather   we look at someone like Tierney or Gaya.

I think the WB position is where we can afford signing ready made players. If we can get 3yrs out of Sandro and Alonso, we can try for Tierney and Gaya then. Imo our squad atm can afford the luxury because we have pretty much covered most positions with up and coming players.

Doubt we'd be able to pick up a player like Sandro in January.
I'd take a punt on Draxler.

Ah the german ross barkley.

Btw, why exactly should we go for a winger when its quite clear that Conte wants to play a 3-5-2 and wingers will be redundant.

He is a bit of an enigma. You sense there is something there but he hasn’t been able to nail down one role. He is currently playing the Fabregas role behind Cavani/Mbappe/Neymar, and he has been brilliant with 80%+ successful passes. Hate to say this but would take the gamble at around the £30m mark.

Because the German Ross Barkley isn't a natural winger...
