Did everything right.......until the finish.

That epitomises him for me, take on ability is all well and good but if he doesn't follow it up with quality it doesn't really mean a lot. That's the difference between him and Pogba/Milinkovic-Savic - they can drift past players and have the quality to make it count.

Even those guys aren't consistent enough to be a starter for the best teams around. Those types of players aren't worth the money they trick you in to spending on them.

the way the draw is split now does make the 2 routes look very different

France, Argentina, Uruguay, Portugal, Brazil, Mexico, Belgium and Japan

Spain,Russia, Croatia, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, England and Colombia

top half looks pretty tough, but Denmark, Sweden, Russia and Switzerland are hardly european football superpowers

Personally I'd have preferred the Brazil route.

Let's face it we aren't getting to the Final whichever route we take so a match against Brazil would have been our 'World Cup Final'. If we get beat by Colombia it won't have been a great tournament for England P4, W2, L2. But to play and test ourselves against Brazil even if we'd lost would have made it a terrific campaign.

I think Brazil are improving and will now make the final.

Agree if we go out to Colombia it will be disappointing yet think we will beat them though it will be close.

Gary Neville on TV called out our recent early exits : Brazil, Germany, Italy and said if you can you avoid the big guys until as late as you can you will go further.
