I'm not comparing Messi to anybody, neither I care about his statistical feats. I'm comparing him to his biggest rival - Ronaldo - the way he improves his game in the big time, the way he scores goals against Munich, Juventus, Atletiko, Spain. Just Jordan and Kobe mentality, nothing to do with the talent and the entertainment they deliver. You guys, never talk about the "power of the moment" when everything is at stake and the way he's nowhere to be found. And then, you start with the statistics against Eibar and Bilbao and his trophies in the past.

I’m pretty certain you’re the only one here who gives a sh*t...

Not sure how sane you must be to describe messi as a loser. He has won everything at club level and individually multiple times.

I guess that makes JT a loser aswell, certainly hasn't won as much as messi.

Why not just enjoy both ronaldo and Messi as the great players they are?

He can't, it's what these Ronaldo and Messi fanboys are like. They can't praise one and not the other. I don't mind people comparing them and saying who they prefer over the other, but it's the downplaying of their achievements that bugs me. On the one hand you have Ronaldo fanboys saying Messi is a loser because he has won nothing with his country (even though he has, an Olympic Gold medal isn't a World Cup, but it's at least something) and has only played for one club. Then you have Messi fanboys saying things like Ronaldo can only score tap ins now (which isn't true and not even a bad thing)

It's boring, we should be enjoying these great players, not constantly putting them down. You look at Tennis with Federer and Nadal and you don't see anywhere near the same level of hate for one player over the other. Both are looked at as two of the greatest to ever play the sport and it's been great to watch them over the years.

We should just enjoy it, Messi and Ronaldo won't be around forever. Some of us will be talking about these great players we once witnessed and all the fanboys will remember is how they got into petty squabbles about which one was better.

Don't understand why Argentina play one of the best goal scorers in football history, as basically a defensive midfielder.

The Argentina coach is probably Jose in disguise

You just contradicted yourself....

The have both stepped up for the big games, we went over this a week ago. Ronaldo has stepped up for the big games, as has Messi, i have seen it with my own eyes on countless occasions now. You trying to re-write history won't change that.

The ref is going to need to be really strong tonight, both teams surround the ref and get very vocal, i really want to see this get punished more, if they book players for it more then it would stop, like the penalty arrea grappling has mysteriously vanished since the started pulling them up for it on VAR.

So sick of all these players rolling around screaming at every little touch. Maybe I just don't remember previous world cups, but I don't remember it ever being this bad before. Even the little south american and african countries were doing it in the group stages.

It’s really about time  the refs took this into there own hands and stop taking this sh*te from the players. Anyone other than the captain approaching the ref should be booked immediately, if they continue,  give them a second yellow and off. If FIFA backed the refs then this crowding would disappear immediately.

Germany - Holland, years ago. Potugal - Holland, ...

Love the way this ref is letting the game flow without stopping every time someone goes down screaming. See how quickly the players get up and get on with it when they know they’re not getting anything.
