Next Chelsea Manager

Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

From the clubs perspective, I can understand why they haven’t sacked Conte yet.

1) They want to secure a replacement before sacking him

2) It weakens their position with Napoli by not having a “walk away strategy.

My feeling is that we will still get Sarri as Napoli have already replaced him and out relationship with Conte isn’t exactly amazing.

But I would have thought it would have been done by the first day of pre-season.

Can't we do the same then. Just give Conte Jody's job and bring in a new guy above him.

Well technically that is what we would do.

If we appoint Sarri then Conte wont actually be sacked, but placed on gardening leave for the remainder of his contract.

This club, in typical fashion, have conducted themselves in the usual manner and the whole thing is complete ballsed up.

The Sarri thing is not going to happen and the whole Conte saga will continue for another year, with sh*t signings that he will then try to convince the press that he had nothing to do with. Of course they won't be his first choices, because none of his first choices actually wanted to play for him.

What a fking awful close season so far, about as bad the January window which was also a complete disaster.

ADL being the asswipe that he is is probably leveraging the fact that our preseason starts tomorrow and that we are desperate to sign sarri ASAP in order to ask for more than double his original release... I say we let out lawyers and sarri’s lawyers make a case for constructive dismissal since napoli have already hired a new manager... it might take longer but we can have conte doing the preseason for now, or some assistant coaches, and then as soon as sarri is freed via lawyers, we sack conte for good and give the reins to sarri... it’s a lot messier than straight up paying his ridiculous 20M demand but at least we don’t have to pull our pants down and bend over to that douche

Surely the egg is on ADLs face when Ancelotti rocks up for pre-season, and Roman then gives a massive 'Tak ne poydet' you had your chance ya weasely f**ktard, we'll never attempt to barterl with you again...... or something like that

he can release Sarri after the season starts just to screw us over

the club should have set a deadline and moved on by hiring someone else or keeping Conte(by showing support for Conte publically)

Best thing to do now is just to sit back and observe what happens tomorrow. Conte is due to return for pre-season on Monday (tomorrow) so let's see if he does. No more 48 hour bollocks tomorrow will settle it once and for all.

I read somewhere, trawling through the internet (so it may well be bollox) that he has already had a falling out at the club this weekend. Its going to be such fun.

I'd imagine Sarri will be a club employee in legal terms only. From what I've read if they assign him another role his contract could be voided bc that's not part of it.

Worst owner to deal with in world football. MUCH worse than Levy. At least Levy tells you he doesn't want to sell and usually means it unless you meet a high fee he sets. ADL tells you he wants 5m today and even if you agree to pay it tomorrow, if he wakes up tomorrow and the wind hits his skin differently, he'll say he wants 10m now. Absolute f**king bellend.

He's lucky he's a cheap bastard and doesn't have any plans of buying players from other top clubs. I'm sure there's a lot of club executives who would love to stick it to him.

Isn't that what we're trying to do?

You can't stick it to him when you're trying to buy from him and he holds all the leverage. You can tell him to f**k off (after wasting his time) if he comes for one of your players though.

Nothing happening today it looks like. Pre-season starts in 11 hours so let's see how this pans out. My bet is that Conte stays now.

Yep, at a club he doesn't want to be at with a board that doesn't want him and a fan base that a) dislikes his negative tactics and b) can't stand his overblown melodramatics to the press.

What a great environment to maintain a winning group of footballers in. Would we really be surprised once the players start bailing. I know i wouldn't want to work in that type of environment

Didn't we know ADL was a dick before trying to stiff him on the €8m clause?

You'd have to ask Marina that. I'm not sure what she was trying to prove to ADL or to Roman with that silly move.

No i agree. Horrible situation and the club has made a wreck out of this thing.

I am starting to wonder if any of it was real. Was it all just twitter bollox from the start. Has there ever been any form of actual confirmation that any of these things were ever actually in the pipeline or being discussed. i have only ever read ADL stating that nobody from Chelsea has been in touch with him and of course the Chelsea media team have been right on it for us all.

I was thinking the same last week, although Zola's comments seem to confirm that talks are ongoing, but maybe he was commenting on what he has read in the papers like the rest of us.

Too much news coverage on it for it to be just twitter rumours.

Koulibaly a few weeks ago said ' Sarri will be a success at Chelsea' or something along those lines.

Zola stuff

Thibaut the other night saying ' i will see with the new manager' or something along those lines need to rewatch that post match interview.

Napolis lawyers have also confirmed there was negotiations taking place so there definitly was. Marina just tried to hardball a guy everyone knows doesn't give in to that stuff and here we are.

Marina's negotiating skills may leave a lot to be desired and if she wasn't RA's right hand perhaps she wouldn't be quite so armour plated, but the clubs apparently ridiculous approach of just leaving things in the hope they get everything for free has also got to be questioned. I am constanty reading that Chelsea have been hoping that Conte will resign. Err why?

Throughout most of last season Conte was effectively goading the board into sacking him and I don't recall seeing a single manager's vacancy where he was directly linked other than general twitter rubbish and Sky Sports just making things up to fill air space to make life even more dramatically exciting for that cretin Jim White.

Therefore, who in their right mind would possibly think that Conte would have just resigned, what sort of retarded business plan is that? Surely they knew from day one he would need to be bombed. And since when have we had to negotiate the new manager in before we pull the plug on the latest manager.

We've made him sign a new manager without paying up for the incumbent. Baby steps
