Next Chelsea Manager

Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

I'm not defending anybody, I'm repeating ( ad nauseam :laugh2: ) we don't know what's going on, or what is behind the silence from the club. They may hide they don't have anything to announce, there may be a specific reason to stay silent on something that has been accomplished: we. don't. know.

That's just hypotheticals though.
Conte is still here so clearly Sarri haven't signed anything. And in the end it doesn't really matter even if we've gotten 70 percent further in negotiating with Napoli over the last month and a half when the season is right around the corner. And pre-season starts monday.

Not to mention the squad is filled with deadwood and we needed a huge summer window this year to compete with the best clubs in the league. Still haven't signed a soul.

When does it simply get too late for us to accomplish everything we need to do this summer?

Your right. Pre season starts Monday. The players that report back ( who weren’t in the World Cup), won’t see a football for weeks because all they’ll be doing is running.

Im sure there are people at the club able to get players fit. The managerial acumen/ footballing strategy aspect won’t come into play for a while yet.

Panick not.

Not true.
The season itself starts in a matter of weeks, the manager will start drilling them after a day or two.

I hear where your coming from but these are seasoned pros, who don’t need to be told how to tie their shoelaces.

Football is a very simple game, made complicated by pundits and pseudo coaches who like to spout technical mumbo jumbo because it makes them sound intelligent.

I dont think that is true nowadays.

It will be a day or 2 of general fitness tests, assessments, etc.

Then most of the fitness work will be done with a ball, and there will be some small sided games, and some lighter sessions for the first week.

After that it will ramp up, double sessions in the second week.

Someone at the club could definately take that 1st week training, although it would be beneficial for conte, sarri, or whoever is going to be in charge, to be heavily involved, and give them a chance to look at some of fringe players, and see who should cone away on tour.

Exactly this , he got blamed for alot but it's strange how it's got progressively worst behind the scenes since he's left, maybe he could see what was coming and didn't want anything to do with it as he would of been getting all the blame right now.

I remember when his credentials were questioned at every opportunity because some claimed he didn't have any football pedigree.

You may think Emenalo was the enemy, he was the conduit between the players and the management

De Laurentiis have toyed with Marina this summer. Quite embarrassing really how silly we have looked trying to force Napoli to give us a discount when AdL very clearly have said he doesn't do those. Now we are in a sh*tty situation and are getting desperate. And Chelsea don't do smart things when they are desperate...
