Next Chelsea Manager

Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

Equally, the club would have put out a statement by now saying he was leaving if he definitely was.

And, yes, it is more than a week ago that Hazard said that.   Wasn't it an interview with Gabby Logan well before the World Cup  started when she tried desperately to goad him into saying something bad or negative about Conte, the club and his future in order to create a story??

And, if the Chelsea PR people have got any value at all, they will have spent a great deal of time and trouble coaching all the players and staff to be non-committal in any press interview, and everything said in every interview I have seen says that they are sticking to that.

I agree. He's not definitly leaving because the club might not be able to come to an agreement with Napoli even if that is still the goal.

And no, Hazard spoke to L'Equipe and it was just two weeks ago.

It's a little funny how things have gone from "It's okay if getting Sarri takes some time" to "It's okay if Conte stays afterall and Hazard, Courtois and Willian leave" for some.

We shouldn't be adjusting our standards after the boards uselessness. It's not okay for a big club to lose multiple of their star players in a summer because they can't pay a damn release clause and sack their current manager as some seem to be fine with.

So  more than a week, anyway

My point is that all of the players and staff will be under instructions to be as non-committal as they can in interviews, and so will not say, even if they do or  don't know who is the manager next season.   That's the reason Willian wouldn't say anything about Conte in two separate interviews, probably because it's a contractual thing.

Willian was asked how important Conte has been for him, and he said he didn't want to say anything about the man. Not excactly the right answer to that simple question if you like the manager.

And he also blocked him with emojiis in the pictures he posted after the FA-cup win. He clearly dislikes him very much.

It is not life and death!

If Sarri comes then so be it. If not, then we have Conte.

If Conte stays then Eden, Willian, and Tibo might all leave.  If Sarri comes, they might all leave anyway.  Whatever happens, if all the players stay or go,  Chelsea will still be here. We are not going to be relegated, and even if we are, we will still be there to watch and support the team in the championship! Ultimately, it does'nt matter.

Worst case scenario, we go a few years without winning anything. I guarantee it wont be as long without a trophy as when I first started supporting the club in the late 80s (Not counting the zenith data cup!)...big deal if we dont win anything!

I remember wanting Dave Webb to stay as Chelsea manager, then Hoddle came. I wanted Hoddle to stay, then Ruud came. I wanted Ruud to stay, then Luca came. There will always be managers and players come and go. What will be will be. None of us know what will happen, the club will not comment on speculation, and the media and "in the knows" will regurgitate rubbish to sell papers and get publicity.

Lets wait and see, and judge the club at the end of the season.

But I bet you didn't want Avram Grant to come or stay!!

No one forced Abramovic or Granoska to sign that sort of deal with Conte.

If they want to sack Conte, they have to pay, easy and simple.

Maybe they doesn't want to sack Conte. Who knows.

So Zola says the chelsea are working on bringing sarri in, and also talks about hoping he can do a good job in a new role.

Is it safe to say the club haven't informed the players about who's in the dug out next season, because they are still, 3 days before preseason, working to bring someone in.

I understand fans not trusting Twitter, but this is from an interview with sky Italia today, with a club legend who is directly involved.

Hazard and William are good player but far far away from the sort of Lampard, Terry and Drogba.

Hazard is easily as good a player as those two legends, maybe not as good defending, or scoring goals, but his technical ability is right up there with Messii, in fact he is probably the best footballer ever at the club imho, note i say footballer..

The point about contracts certainly makes sense.

cheers.

We have contractual clauses at work that cover anything related to the press, and that's just in a small It company, so I would expect they are definitely there and very tightly drawn-up for  public figures like football players

Personally I think if he was staying the club would have confirmed that. I think the fact that Napoli has a new manager means it will probably be Sarri, especially if he is so good why would Napoli have replaced him for no reason.

My best guess at the delay of an announcement is they are waiting til the WC to be over, or for some form of Conte compensation or destination to be wrapped up.

edit: If we don't hear anything 1 week post WC Final I will join you all in declaring our demise.

“A number of my media friends have attempted to speak with Chelsea this week, but they’ve declined to make any comment at all on the manager situation.

My view, if Conte is staying, they’d state that fact. I simply can’t see that as being an option.” Simon Phillips

This guy is just like other journos in this country, they know very little. The news I've read is from Italy, from Napoli lawyers and comments from their president over recent days and weeks. You would think something would be coming out of Italy a lot more reassuring.

Those of you saying it will cost us 20 million quid to sack Conte and his staff and hire Sarri and his staff, who cares? We have to sack Conte and his staff whatever. The point which you're spectacularly missing is that by refusing to pay his release clause, we may end up saving a few pennies, if any, in fact we may just as easily end up paying more. We won't be saving 20 million quid. I hope I've made myself clear.

Now that I've managed to get that through to you, let me ask you a question. Why haven't we sacked Conte? No, it's not because we haven't worked out his severance package, these things often get worked out long after a sacking, so what is it? I'll tell you. We haven't sacked him because we haven't got his replacement yet. That's right, it's that simple. It's not because we want to keep him, please don't delude yourself. It's because his replacement hasn't been secured.

Remember when we signed Giroud? Remember we got rid of Batshuayi first? We waited and waited and waited and then when we knew Giroud was coming we released him. That's how it works. You don't release somebody until you know you have somebody to replace them. We haven't released Conte because we haven't signed Sarri yet, because we wanted to save a few pennies.

We're now in July, just in case you need reminding. We are literally talking pennies. It's farcical.

Imagine the scenes when Sarri deal is off and we go with Conte for one more year and then Conte walks away 1-2 weeks into preseason to f**k us over.
Yeah i know there is 9 million reasons for Conte not to... But he has done it before though

Not for the kind of dollar were talking about, no fool would throw away £10m-£20m, fair play to him.
