Next Chelsea Manager

Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

In theory that should happen but we have seen time and time again player power rules at this club. We even sacked our greatest ever manager because of the players chucking it under him.

We seen the back of Costa due to the frustrations and are badly missing him tbh, if we lose Willian and a few others that could be the same. I just think the club see it an easier task replacing the manager to keep the squad happy.

I like you would rather weed the unhappy players out

Mourinho's sacking had nothing to do with player power, that was just one of the many myths used to excuse the abysmal job Jose did that season.

AVB's was down to that though, and i can't speak for you but im bloody glad the players won that battle.

He was about to invest for a billion pound stadium and then suddenly he isn't welcomed in the country anymore...That probably affected everyone at the club that is in a top position at least.
But if we ignore the media talk, our manager is Conte that won the Premier League and FA cup in his first 2 seasons so maybe Roman doesn't even care if we lose Hazard and others since the manager is good enough to see his contract through.

Didn't he already get an Israeli citizenship to work around his VISA issues or something like that?

I think so from what the media was saying but it was more than a week when he had those issues after the FA cup final so I think that whole thing affected the club.

I think most of us would swallow this, if we were clearly developing something or trying to develop in a different direction. But a midtable or worse season whilst Conte constantly moans and blames everybody else about his and his team's shortcomings sound mouthwatering. On the positive side as we slip back into mediocrity at least we won't be on the TV as much, being humiliated by the likes of Watford, Bournemouth, West ham et al. Of course we'll be on TV for the FA cup seeing if the likes of Norwich or Hull can go one better than this year.

More Saturday 3pm ko, proper football, proper Chelsea.

I can not see it all how we don't have a DOF yet let alone the manager situation!

Who identifies the players to be signed? Long term strategy or youth development. It can't be Conte surely!

There is absolutely nothing that stops us getting a DOF and yet we don't have one! Ballack would have being my pick, don't mind Zola either.

Here's the interview if you're interested. Says it's not a deciding factor in him staying, just that it's important to him we strengthen because he wants to win the title next season.

But says nothing about leaving if Conte isn't sacked, which is what someone said he said.  And I'd be worried if it WASN'T important to him that we strengthened, it should be important to everyone in the club and every fan

I'm so tired of this dragging on and on. You just know it's not going to be sorted until the last minute and we'll panic buy a few sh*t players to go with it.

This has been my point from the very start.

I would rather just keep Conte at this point so we at least have better stability going into the season. Because I know when we do get a new manager it won't be until the season starts and we will chase targets that we'll never get then panic buy our plan B.

It's been this way for the past 3 seasons with the exception of Kante, it's ridiculous.

If the loan players have returned then surely Conte would have also returned? I’m presuming he isn’t there so that would say a lot.

Here is my two bits on the whole saga.  Reading between the lines it seems that Ancelotti’s contract with Napoli becomes effective once it has been registered with the Italian league.  The usual date for this is the 1st of July or the first day of pre-season (I wouldn’t put it past De Laurentis to wait until the last possible minute).

I read that Napoli pre-season was due to start today with the players due to leave for training camp on the 10th but now I have read that Ancelotti won’t be in Naples until Friday, when he will be presented to the team.

So if the contract hasn’t been registered on the 1st and won’t be registered today it will definitely be registered on Friday.  Once Ancelotti’s contract becomes effective then all sorts of legal routes are available to Sarri to release himself from the contract e.g. restraint of trade, constructive dismissal etc.  How long will it take for him to be released if he goes down that route I don’t know, but one would presume Chelsea have been given some guaranties and have everything read to make this process swift and painless.

PS I forgot to say that this is guess work and I am not a lawyer.

The transfer window ends when the season begins. We can't afford to bring in a manager when the season starts.

At least it gives us a day to get rid of our hangovers. A good half the passengers on my commuter train coming into London were fast asleep this morning!

Just finished a contract so didn't need to get up early yet after eating late realise that could have been me.

Well if it gets to the point where Conte is actually back on the training field, then I would assume nothing is happening this summer.

“Got told today by a guy I’ve not spoken to before (so no idea of the truth), that Napoli still trying to get David Luiz from Chelsea and using it in negotiations for Sarri.

As I said, no idea if its true or not. The whole saga is ridiculous. Players & fans need clarification.” Simon Phillips

No matter how much we jump up and Down......this is exactly what most of us didnt want. No plan in sight seemingly, no direction, zero ambition, a manager who doesnt want to be here if helped, no players brought in and the likes of Eden etc on their way out if this goes on. If this was the first time yeah, we would be more willing to see what is up.....but we have been this sh*t for some time now and we are rightly worried/ pissed as f**k. You cant convince me that our overall stock isnt going way Down......Arsenal getting players left and right.....pool just bought 2 quality MF......utd got Fred and we know they aint done.....and city will be city.....only spurs I think WHO havent done much eithe.......still they are all above us and improving.

It's a world cup year so everything is likely to be later, I agree less than ideal!

The one team that was in a very similar situation to us at the end of last season is Arsenal.

They have managed to sack their old legendary manager, hire the new man they wanted and signed four players, three of which will strengthen their XI immediately.

The club can have no excuse over why we are still left with this mess when the first players have arrived back for pre-season and we are a month from the season starts.
Most of our players haven't even been told when they are expected to return to training at Cobham(Moses confirmed this after one of his WC-games) and training is now being led by a guy who's already left for Derby with Lampard for those who have returned.

It's a huge mess. The list of unresolved "problems" at the club at the moment is unbelieveable.

- No DOF
- No new manager
- No new players
- No new contracts for star players
- Courtois wants to leave
- Willian wants to leave
- Hazard is still a questionmark

I wouldn't be surprised if the board didn't know this. We will be in the last week of the transfer window and it will dawn on them that we only have a few days left and we will end up panic buying again. Obviously i'm guessing, but it's not like we haven't been here before in recent times. I just don't understand why it all takes so long, what are they doing all day?

What exactly is our preparation going into pre-season? is Conte still there? will he be coaching the team during pre-season? will he be sacked in the middle of it? It's a bit of a farce really, nobody seems to have any clue what is going on, the club has gone completely silent.

To be fair there are also plenty of other clubs who haven't bought anyone yet. It's been a really quiet transfer window so far.

Rumours circulated are that there is already friction between Sarri and Marina on transfers. Sarri wants Mertens apparently we want Pulisic of Dortmund. In this case I would take Pulisic all day.

I have a feeling Conte will stay on for next season and will do really well just to prove a point before he departs.

What friction, he aint even our manager?
