Typically though there was nothing in the media about this challenge. 10 years ago this was possibly a yellow, but this season in the PL 95% of these challenges have resulted in a red card, and was definitely a red in this case.

these fools were quick to say it was a yellow. Just imagine if it was Sergio Ramos or David Luiz

Its the Eng media....its their darling pool......why you folks are surprised I dont know, we see it every week. The biasness is incredibly strong with certain teams in Eng. Hide anything that goes their way.......Godzilla size everything that goes against them. It will not change in our life time.

A lot of these Champions league teams fight till the very end every game, our team lacks some character and consistency so it's good that we spend this year building up our squad.

So... Yaya Touré has more or less accused Guardiola of being prejudiced against African players:

https://www.francefootball.fr/news/Yaya-toure-dezingue-pep-guardiola-le-coach-de-manchester-city/907357

«J'ai essayé de comprendre. Je demandais même en douce mes stats aux préparateurs physiques. Et quand je me suis aperçu qu'elles étaient aussi bonnes, voire meilleures, aussi bien à l'entraînement qu'en match, que ceux qui jouaient et qui étaient plus jeunes que moi, j'ai compris que ce n'était pas une question de physique

«Je ne sais pas pourquoi mais j'ai l'impression qu'il [Pep Guardiola] me jalousait, qu'il me prenait pour un rival. (...)

My translation (would welcome any corrections from @moi)

"I tried to understand. I even asked nicely for my fitness training stats. And when I found that they were as good, if not better, both in training and in matches, than those who played and who were even younger than myself, I understood that this wasn't a question of fitness.

"I don't know why but I have the impression that he [Pep Guardiola] was jealous of me, that he thought of me as a rival. Like I was overshadowing him.

"He was cruel to me. Do you really believe that Barcelona could have done that with Iniesta? I ended up asking myself whether this wasn't because of my [skin] colour.

"I am not the first to talk about double standards in treatment. At Barcelona, certain people also asked this question. Perhaps that us Africans are not always treated the same as others by some. (...) When one perceives that, everywhere he goes, he often has problems with Africans, I have to ask myself the question..."

"He pretends not to have it [prejudice against Africans], because he is too intelligent to let himself get caught. He will never admit it. But the day when he puts together a team which includes five non-naturalised Africans, I promise I will send him a cake!"

He can’t seem to make his mind up whether it’s because of personal jealousy, skin colour, or his continent of origin. I suspect his massive ego and all of his ridiculous moaning to the press over the last few years might have played a bigger part.

Pep did swap Eto'o for Ibrahimovic when he was in charge at Barca.

Has Pep had any African players central to any of his teams? None spring to mind.

Yeah that definitely makes him a racist

Off the top of my head I can only think of Seydou Keita, and he was more of a bench player under Guardiola.

Glad we agree.

I was going to suggest Alex Song but turns out he signed the year Pep left Barca.

Alex Ferguson rarely signed African players as well. For some reason I think it was because he didn't like that they go to the AFCON mid season every now and then. So maybe he just hated AFCON eligibility.

Or maybe Eric Djemba-Djemba left a deep cut and he didn't dare venture back into those murky waters.

He was haunted by John Obi Mikel's rejection

Bloody hell, I'd forgotten about him... still only 31 apparently and playing for FC Sion.

Who was the bloke that stood up for Sterling again? Sterling just won player of the month under him and has had two quality seasons playing for him, ah that's it! That man who hates playing black players Pep Guardiola.

Toure isn't accusing Pep of being racist, he's accused him of having a prejudice against African players.

He's suggesting that he doesn't like African players and that he doesn't give them a fair chance.... One man's word at the moment so pretty baseless but worth clarifying it's not about race.

Then why didn't you mention Mahrez at all? He's one of the most obvious ones who Pep has been chasing for years who is an African player. I think it's pretty clear what you're talking about here and what Yaya was implying.

Just gonna drop this in here from an interview a couple of days ago about the whole Pep discussion...:

So you're cherry picking a comment from a man who speaks multiple languages who's English is not the greatest, then you attempt to correct me by saying the argument has nothing to do with race even though this video is clearly implying that Pep was being racist.

Jesus Christ what has the Sterling incident done to this forum...

I mean, I'm just having a bit of fun with this but it's clear you're taking this is all very seriously so I'll just leave it there I think.
