So we could have been 60 points with a game in hand? Pffttt, and we laugh at Spurs? We're the biggest bottlers in the top 6 at the moment.

OTT for me, sure we could have done better yet we could also have done a lot worse.

Really shocking that yesterday and with recent incidents in Scotland this is getting out of hand.

That said, it did remind me somewhat of that night at The Bridge against Sunderland back in 85/86 when the Chelsea fan ran on and chased Clive Walker. I was in the Shed that night and along with thousands of others were cheering the guy on and it was like a scene out of the Benny Hill show. Looking back I'm now embarrassed that we were cheering, but it did seem funny at the time, especially as the bloke was too slow to catch Walker and we were all so gutted as we thought after the classic Sheff Wed games we were destined fro Wembley that season. But of course it was wrong then and it's wrong now and they'll be a fair number of supporters  feeling rather sheepish today for cheering that guy on.

Funny how on Wednesday night you get a gift of a penalty, and Sunday you give away a dodgy one, and you are still angry at the referee?

If not mistaken, Arsenal has played all other top 5 teams in the league, so all remaining games are winnable ones. They have done a lot better than us against lower teams, wouldn't be surprised if they win 6-7 out of the 8, which will make them the favorite right now. They probably have a decision to make for the Europa league, either get out now or fighting or 2 fronts and hope at least 1 works out. Our goal plus is terrible, and won't get much better with the way we are playing, best chance is Spurs fall about, we beat United at OT and a result against Liverpool, on top of beating all the other 7 teams in between.

I remember that pikey west ham trying to land one on Lampard, who avoided it pretty easily. Frankly anyone going on the pitch should be a free target, let the players sort the vermin out. Would love to have seen JT get hold of the pikey scumbag.

Ok a few morons have ran on the pitch of late, from hundreds of thousands that go to the game i am surprised it doesn't happen more., most of these invasions are just some moron showing off and not malicious at all, certainly not the big deal the media like to make it.

A campaign to protect players on the pitch is being pushed by the Neville brothers. Yes that's right, the same players that stood next to Eric Cantona that night he stormed into the, crowd drop kicking a supporter is way worse than anything i have ever seen a fan do to a player in 50yrs of watching the game..

Did Cantona get a life ban like these fans will inevitably receive ?

Phil Neville ...............

What has happened in the past few days has highlighted the size of the problem, but I actually think things have been getting worse for a while and the situation should be a major concern for the clubs and the governing bodies.

Drastic action is needed - either through points deductions or by emptying stadiums and making clubs play behind closed doors.

I also think players and managers need to make a stand.

Us fans should of made a stand when Cantona attacked us with his boots.

I'd think players not wanting to be attacked on the field would go without saying. Shouldn't need to 'make a stand', its pretty obvious not acceptable.

I get what you're saying @coco but the Cantona incident was an isolated incident over 20 years ago. Yes he should have got away with more than just a ban, and probably should have criminal conviction but for whatever reason he didn't. I can't think of any other incidents with a player going into a crowd like that.

Fans are there to spectate, that's literally it. If there is going to be instances where players are having questions about their safety then policing and security will have to become even tighter which will make things worse for the normal fans like you and me, because of the action of one or two idiots.

The idiot who attacked Grealish yesterday should have the book thrown at him, and rightfully so IMO. I wouldn't want to work in an environment where i have fears over my safety, and why should that be any different for a professional footballer?

He should be banned for life by the club, thats happened, prosecuted by the law, thats happening.

What else to do ? Nothing, move along, no media campaign needed to fill column space.

Phil Neville jumping on the knife epidemic wagon, when no knives have ever been involved in these incidents ever, why would you even mention it ? could of been a terrorist.

Fair point, but there is always going to be an element of "whataboutery" when stuff like this happens.

Exactly this. Pitch invading supporters may not have anything malicious in mind, but that Brummie moron did thump Grealish. How is that not malicious? And some of the players may remember how Monika Seles was hurt when she was stabbed on the tennis court years ago. It does happen, so playing down the threat isn't helpful. Having said that, it would take draconian measures to make it impossible.

I see that most are discussing the Birmingham incident (that guy should be banned for life and get some kind of conviction for assault), but little has been discussed about the Arsenal incident. They mention dropping points, playing games with no fans, and so on, but all concerning Birmingham. How's the FA going to treat the Arsenal, are they going to close their ground for some matches, take points from them, fine them?

exactly, no way to stop it, so why not just let the sentencing be the deterrent, whats the point of a big campaign ? the laws are there now to give this idiot two years in jail,

did any of you ever go to stamford bridge when we were fenced in ? do you want that back again ? its the only way to stop it.

Man u fan stabbed in Paris last week and had life saving surgery, does Neville suggest fans not travelling away in Europe. Liverpool fan attacked by Rome fan, now he's a cabbage and fan is in prison, do we ban away fans coming from Europe ?

Idiot runs on pitch in Birmingham and attempts a half hearted clothes line, Phil Neville wants player protection.

Over the years in looking at politics I have seen people saying we do not need more laws yet we do need the police or CPS to enforce the existing laws.

they do when the media are looking, this guy was remanded in custody.

I did not see that coming. Hands off Hazard, ZZ!

Indeed! I was so sure Mourinho was going back to RM but that's clearly not happening.

Will be interesting to see how ZZ copes without Ronaldo....
