Not so much a defence of AVB but there's an irony to calling him a manager of "all style and no substance" when our current manager has the term "Sarri-ball" coined about him and his playing style despite never having won anything.

I don’t see any of the forwards pressing anymore. Also, the forward players are largely playing with their backs to goal. No movement whatsoever.

Incorrect.

Some of us have backed manager after manager and didn't want them sacked. Sarri on the other hand, with the chants of "you don't know what you're doing", clubs worst defeat since 1996 and his "I cannot motivate these players", well it seems he is the proverbial dead-man walking.

I must say, some of you get very angry at people who say anything vaguely critical of Sarri.  

A comment about the manager on more than one occasion has led to personal insults from those that disagree.

If he can’t motiva the players then he is in the wrong profession.IF they don’t believe in him is another matter as they are paid employees so they should get on with it

however

if they see him favour certain players over others ie not being dropped for bad performances etc then that’s another thing

Andy2461, they are paid millions to play and to give 100% of them, then why someone have to specially motivated them ?

Are people really that dumb, or they choose to be ?

Sarri message is, this player is very hard to motivate. He didn`t say he can`t motivate players. He obviously mean there is certian number of players in our team, that simply are done, washed out and can`t be motivated.

What more motivation you will need, then 5 to 10 million salary(some even earn more), to play at CL, and to fight for trophy.

After last season this players should have shown to the club, to the new manager, to the fans, to all arround the world, that they still got it.

So an excuse someone have to mativated it`s dumb as hell and shouldn`t be working.

Yet some of you are catching for this.

 

ForeverCarefree, you understand that the exactly same people that now criticize Sarri, was the same people that want Conte to be sacked and Sarri to replace him and was swear at Sarri and how he is and how beautiful hes football is.

So it`s obvious this people knows nothing of football, just rotate the paincakes, when it`s in their interes and totally forget what was they saying 6 months or year ago.

This is not someone with knowing in the game. This is people who live to criticize and making how much they know about football in a football forum, and pretend to know better then world paid manager ...

I`m not a fan of Sarri, but the situation he was put in, was terrible. Worst thing to do is to miss completely the pre-season , it`s one of the most important thing for a new manager, who have to put and new style to play.

While i can see board fix some of their previous mistake and allow Sarri to bring players he likes, obviously Jorginho, and now Higuain, but it`s too little too late.  And they messed with the pre-season big time.
I was strongly against Higuain, but if it`s a manager choice, i won`t say a s***.

Whether or not Sarri is the right man for Chelsea, he need his time. This is not some Video game and with magic stick to fix all for a no time.

Liverpool are where they are now, because they choose the right manager, and they believe in him and backed him up all they could. And the results are clear.

The most important thing is to choose the right guy for the job and to support him through all.

 

The year is 2019, sacking manager so fast is no longer the good thing to do. You can`t compare 2019 to 2008 or 2009.

 

 

We just got absolutely embarrassed by Bournemouth, our biggest league defeat in about twenty years, but if course the usual suspects show up to insult anyone who wants to let out some steam and have a cathartic moan. I'm glad you're happy with the way we are going, getting worse every week and a stubborn manager who refused to change anything, but not all of us are that thrilled.

Dare to acknowledge you're happy about it and get piled on and called a plastic. 

Say what you will about Sarri's tactics or inability to motivate the players,  but the players alone in the 2nd half gave up on the game after their 2nd went in.  There is nothing the manager can say at that point to motivate them, it was up to them to up the intensity and drive on to come back and not take losing as a possibility.  It look to me like the players rolled over instead.  Maybe they aren't confident with the tactics, struggling to make them work.  Not enough creativity and directness, no one make runs/movement, too much stopping, slowing down and backwards passing.  Clearly this isn't what Sarri wants.

From Sarri's time at Napoli they were described as playing beautiful fast attacking football far from what we are playing now.  That's what 'Sarriball' is suppose to be.  I just don't know if the players aren't capable of adapting to it or the style isn't working in the Premier League.  Hopefully it just needs more time for both to adapt.

Insulting any forum member, regardless of their views on Sarri or any other subject, is totally uncalled for and shouldn't be tolerated. 

 

An inability to change tactics or personel, even though for months now we are struggling to score a goal. This isnt Serie A. Even pep foundout the hard way. Hes also alienated all our young talent. He has critised both Christensen and CHO more or less saying they wont be getting into the team. Then one or two months later when the Barcelonas and Bayerns are after them, hes changed his tune. Oh but still doesnt really play them anyway.

We brought him in for one reason, to change our philosphy to that of an attacking progressive team. Yet watching us play barely having any meaningful shots on goals most matches, i cant remember being so bored. Anyway onwards and upwards, lets hope atleast in the cups we can turn it around. I cant see much hope in the league.

Oh and btw Luiz was largely at fault for 2 of their goals minimum last night. Hes just not a very good defender at all and hes costing us matches time and time again. Not that we looked like scoring in a million years yesterday anyway.

The world has people with large motivation who are trying hard everyday to bring food on the table, yet these Divas cant be motivated by millions of dollars a year? If that wont motivate them, sell them off to China where they can relax and get paid.

The players lost us the game last night, not Sarri. Heads dropped after one goal. We followed Sarri's game plan and ideally we should have been 1-0 through Kante. Instead we conceded and instead of fighting back and sticking to the game plan that had already created a clear cut chance, they gave up and the sh*t show followed. Its a weak mentality from the players that has been around for a while.
