Strawman arguments, nice agenda you got there. Sad for you that the whole team and manager likes Jorginho though.

Jorginho made sure he was going to a club that was paying him 10x his Napoli wage. Everyone wants to come to the Prem, that's no surprise. He came to us after that sh*te season under Conte when we were in the Europa league. If the transfer to City had gone through i would agree he went to prove himself, the fact he left a team in the CL for a team in the Europa league proves he came for the money. We're simply a cup team at the moment sadly, haven't challenged for a single league title in 5 years.

I think the fact teams are looking willing to pay the £100m price tag of Rice says a lot about him, do you think we could get close to £100m for Jorginho? I guess we'll find out soon enough what teams are willing to pay seeing as him and his agent flirt with going back to Italy every single summer.

If Rice doesn't come back to Chelsea he either goes City and wins everything or goes Utd for the money.

Despite going into the Europa League we were still more likely to win the big ones in the future than Napoli and so it proved. Kante came here when we weren't even in Europe.

Regarding the bolded bit, are they? It's the price tag West Ham are putting on him but no one seems to be seriously thinking about it.

And the levels and expectations of both our clubs still need to be factored, look at the difference between Villa Grealish and City Grealish, and no one can claim foresight on that one in the summer he was getting w**ked off into oblivion.

Rice's only option if he wants a big move is to run down his contract to the point West Ham's options are negotiate a reasonable price or see him walk for free.

If the transfer of Jorginho that was 50m from Napoli to Chelsea is all about money, 100m Rice from West Ham to Chelsea is even more about money.

If Jorginho was unproven in Napoli as the second best team in the league, Rice is even more unproven in West Ham right now.

I have no reason to continue this nonsense, specially after reading how "Italy won in spite of Jorginho" yea right that's all I need as an undeniable proof of an agenda here.

I think Rice is a very good player, but his fanboys make it so hard for me to want him at Chelsea, not to mention even if he moved here he’d be the 4th best CM we have and that’s without Gallagher returning in the summer.

I’m not even getting into the Jorginho slander because the argument being brought forward makes no sense whatsoever.

The strategy should be to get as much as possible out of Jorgi and Kante in their 30s whilst chancing on players to rotate with them, not to sign a £100m player right now.

We have Gilmour, Gallagher, Ampadu and who knows who will be the next surprise from Cobham? If we sign Rice it should be in 2024 for up to £50m or in 2025 for free.

I saw a post in the Euros saying the only people who think Jorginho is sh*t are Arsenal fans who rate Granit Xhaka and Chelsea fans that want Declan Rice.

Jorginho’s Italy was dominated by a Spanish team full of new names in the semifinals, and they only went through to the final in penalties. Spain should have beaten comfortably Italy if it wasn’t for the fact that they had no world class forward and were playing Morata mostly.

I'm sorry but the argument falls flat after Jorginho proved that last season when he had the best year in his career. A guy coming in for money wouldn't push himself so hard on the pitch.

A guy coming in just for money would have behaved like Drinkwater.

You can argue about Jorginho's speed, physicality, passing choices etc. but the money argument doesn't work. Rice at best is a 40m player. Prime Kante, Modric and KdB would be worth 100m, Rice at 100m is over-the-top

So Jorginho didn't go studs up on a player in added time and scored his penalty. Gotcha.

I really thought we’d all moved past all this bollocks. Can’t you two just agree to disagree?

Sometimes I think some posters in here do things like this on purpose just trying to annoy Gol.

Mini-trolling or I guess mini-Golling?

Why would you do that to someone who uses cat gifs? It’s a hate crime!

So this means that 17 year old Gavi >>> 22 year old Rice

It is hard to appreciate Jorginho when you can only see him when he makes a mistake. When he makes one it usually ends up having to pick the ball from our net. That tells how important he is to us and to the system we play.

Nah, it tell you about his role in the team.

Around this time 11 months ago I assumed it was a combination of that and being a scapegoat for Frank's sacking but since the UCL win he played a crucial part in has if anything caused people to double down. He's getting it in the neck a lot worse than he did even in the belly of the Sarri era which I find simply odd.

Funny thing is, I'm not for one second suggesting he's the perfect player and I really wouldn't be against replacing/upgrading him if we found such a profile of player (if we could somehow get Frenkie De Jong out of Barcelona I'd take Jorgi back to Naples myself) but the sheer level of mental gymnastics to portray him as some lucky chancer being carried by all round him is ridiculous.

There's not a single person who has said this, not one.

You do this in every thread now, post utter tripe hyperbole, strawman rubbish that has no basis on reality. Try conversing in good faith rather just making sh*te up.

I would be happy to know that all of the lying and downplaying of Jorginho is because people want to troll me and me only, but sadly that isn't the case when you read just how some find elaborate ways to diminish Jorginho on all levels. "He bottled the league title for Napoli", "Italy won the Euro despite him", "He is only a bench player for the last 15 minutes"... You know these things can't be just for trolling since a person that trolls doesn't take it to this level, that is pure personal level dislike.

I posted in some previous pages that I have witnessed how the level of argument went from "we won't win anything with him" to "we won't win anything big with him" and finally into "we won't win the league with him". I guess if we ever win the league with him someone will say how he never won the Golden ball or the World Cup 🤣

Now mourinhoRip has even said that Jorginho is only here because "he wanted the money", otherwise he would somehow be in Man City, with less money I suppose... Which is a really new low for someone that clearly has years of agenda against Jorginho.

Clearly no other of our players has had people saying these things about him. Must have hurt so bad when he won the UEFA's man player of the year award, but the haters are also a reason why he kept trying and kept pushing to prove himself so it's funny how the food chain goes LOL

I've never been any different to what I always am, you didn't (as far as I'm aware) have an issue with my style a couple of years back when it was the Mount critics I was challenging.

That is just simply not true for any poster on here. Some of us just don't think he is the player that has taken Chelsea or Italy to the next level as some in here think. And for saying that, we are being called all kind of things from Spam-lovers to Xhaka/Arsenal supporters by the Jorginho fan-boys. Just like in the Pulisic topic, there is nothing wrong that can be said about Jorginho as the Jorginho worshippers will come down on you as the American cavalry on the Pulisic thread.

As I assume that's a reference to my post yesterday/the day before i apologise if that's the impression I gave but it was intended to be a light hearted (I have actually had similar thrown at me for my preference for false 9 and DLP type players for example but I take it as it's meant) but even if it wasn't it in no way implied you were a Xhaka/Arsenal fan.

Quite, throwing a few barbs during a discussion is standard fare on the internet, but that would be beyond the pale!

I got that it was hyperbole, I am just taking to the extreme the fact that I feel that there can be said nothing wrong about Jorginho in here. Not the same feeling I get at the Bridge, where there's not such hate/love extremes but more balanced views in my experience.
