I think Gilmour have something over the rest of our midfielders - He can look forward and make a pass. Kovacic and Mount is so insistent on playing to the wing, dribbling their way out of tight situations etc, and then pass back to the defence. At least Gilmour will make a pass forward whenever he can, instead of doing a nice little flick or step over and then give the ball back to Zouma or Silva.

Gilmour’s vision is very exciting, we really need to be giving him minutes.

We got our arses felt by a young kid today. The reason he could do that is partially because we were sh*te but also because Foden has been given playing time and allowed to develop gradually. Gilmour is getting nothing and yet I fail to see how he, or any midfielder could contribute less than Kovacic has this season. I don't even see if as a risk.

And his game against Everton was just a standard day in the office for what Kovacic was doing last season, but because he was 18, you're more impressed. Great game against Liverpool though, have to give him that.

Its not until season three/four of playing regular and having over a 100 PL games in your locker will you know just how good his ceiling will be. A loan would probably best suit him at this time, important that he gets game time.

End product in the final third is really poor, doesn't really offer much defensively and always looks like he's knackered even at the start of matches.

Agreed he will be inconsistent. However at this rate he will take 30 years to get 100 games! 

I like what I see in him. Comes looking for the ball. Is calm. Moves it on quickly and sensibly.

Doesn't mean he is guaranteed to be great. I just don't think we can do any worse than we see with Kovacic offering nothing so it seems like the perfect opportunity to up his game time

Yeah thats not the point im making you are changing the subject, he was only on the bench at REAL MADRID behind KROOS and MODRIC and still played around 25 games every season. you were saying that he was a bench warmer everywhere he went wich is false.

Today He Looked Lost, He Was Nowhere Near Any Of The City Player's, Him, Mount And Kante All Were Shocking Today, But Thought Kovacic Was The Worst Of The 3

You would think that other teams would have managed to make them good enough for the starting lineup, but since they didn't they were happy to sell them to us. But now instead of building a team around Havertz and Werner that actually were key players previously, we were happy to put them in the filler role in order to accommodate Mount and Kante, no wonder we can't organize an attack properly.

It's not surprising that someone like Kovacic couldn't grow more in our squad, instead of playing better as he approaches his prime years he's playing worse and he's once again more on the bench than not. We need to stop relying on these type of players, to have a blind hope that they will come good is just shooting yourself in the foot.

Jorginho as one of the key players for Napoli got to top2 in Serie A.

As a key player for Italy he's going to play in the finals of the Nations League in the end of this year.

As a key player for us under Sarri and last season under Lampard top3 and top4.

Now without him having a key role we look worse, no denying that, but in some of our best wins this season Jorginho actually played from the start.

Kante can't make a through ball, he's slipping or losing the ball more than 10 times in almost every game now, good lucky relying on him to organize your team.

 

 

Should not be in the starting 11.  I was a huge fan from his loan season and last year, but my goodness, he is a passenger in the side now.  Offers very little in any phase of play.  He didn't lose it overnight - I think the problems are deeper and the midfield balance and execution is way off.  They all look like they are thinking about every action so much and forgetting to play football.

You've been a major critic for years though and wouldn't even admit he was having a good season last season. The people who are jumping on his back now after a crap season were the same ones who wanted him gone the first few months they saw him play here. 

So all due respect, I'm not going to entertain it. 

He’s ‘good at breaking lines’, I’m good at breaking wind but neither of us can score for sh*t. All due respect, never been a big fan of his, I just don’t get it.

Is that the best you've got? You can make any player sound good, like this.

Bakayako was a key part to helping Monaco win the league and getting to a champions league semi final, he then got a cap for France which isn't an easy thing to do with the abundance of good midfielders they have.

Drinkwater was great and key reason to helping Leicester win the league in 2016, he then also god called up to the England squad.

BOTH players weren't good enough, neither is Jorginho. He could move this window if we got a decent offer, but surprise surprise nobody wants him.

 

Its easy to nitpick and pull out this one clip out of context, but Jesus Christ look at this twat. Just walks around, no urgency. Embarrassing. He needs to play better for sure, but I’d be content with him just trying harder to start.
