January 27, 20224 yr He's lost his fizz, but i still have faith in him, i don't mind him and Callum sharing the left position, as long as one of them is in a bit of form.

Ok so then we are banking on many - MANY - in form performances from Callum. Pulisic has had maybe 1 or 2 good performances across this entire season. I think he should be sold while there’s still good value.

I have been disappointed in CP, but saw he was soft mentally when he broke down after being benched in in a USMNT when he was literally crying on the bench. Then he went on a tear after that and was largely responsible for CFC qualifying for last years CL title after the Covid restart. If you didn't see how important he was to that effort, then you don't watch the games. He was going in for his 2nd goal in the FA final and ripped the hammy. Since then, he's been pretty anonymous. I don't think he'd have lingering hammy issues, but he lacks the explosiveness he had. He's also having trouble keeping the ball close on the first touch. However, you also must not watch games if you haven't seen that the entire attack has been lackluster and even though CFC was great before DEC, much of the success was with backs scoring. That being said, I don't know if CP will stay on this squad, but I will continue to be a fan. IF some self important British w**ker doesn't like or respect my fandom, I couldn't care less. 😁 Here is my simple assesment about puli. It is very simple, he can only play lw and high which was the role that he play under Lamp firts season. Everytime he play such role, he will be good 8 out of 10, if he play any other role or posiition it is 1 out of 10 and I am being generous.
January 28, 20224 yr Hopefully playing a 433 formation more will allow him to regain some form at least playing as the left sided attacker. The guy needs to know when to play the ball as well, as he often runs into a Cul De Sac and loses possession. Edited January 28, 20224 yr by Malcolm9
January 29, 20224 yr Puli looked totally out of form last night which isn’t surprising. The Central American hitman tried to take him out at the 5 minute mark. I’m surprised he is still walking.

Best you guys leave him out of the next game then. I mean Canada need that win more than you guys and have Davies out themselves so you could cut them some slack 😉

His ball security is not great, not as bad as timo but clearly good enough to play deeper role.

After missing the last WC, we need every points we can get unfortunately.

Jonathan David has been quoite impressive for both Lille and Canada. Be interesting to see how he does when we get back to CL action.
January 29, 20224 yr I had a dream that we had just started a game against someone and Pulisic got tackled. Nothing happens. A few minutes later the game is interrupted for a while and when it eventually resumes Pulisic falls to the ground on his own crying. I was already sad for the guy at this point and then "dream camera" focuses on our captain holding the ball at sideline waiting and it was Cesc. Now I was really sad, then woke up and no football's on. Devastated. Anyway, back to topic... 😅

I don't think I've ever seen you bashed Pulisic (one of our favorite yanks abroad), but you continue to show a good voice of reason. And you're absolutely right, our interests may never align. We come and support Chelsea, largely due to a player we follow/support. And I also accept the fact that our level of passion and support for Chelsea could ever be anywhere near your level. Maybe with times that might change. However, I do think that if we come to this forum; the least we could do is show some respect for your club and your fans and hopefully we can exchange some good conversations about soccer and one of our favorite yanks. Personally, I really do hope Pulisic will some how regain his form because for a few brief periods under Lampard he was a very exciting player to watch and has a lot to offer Chelsea. But I am afraid at this rate, his place at Chelsea will be a risk. The talent is there it's just about bringing it out consistently. I'm still convinced Chelsea FC is the place to do it. Fingers crossed he stays fit for the rest of the season because if he does at least we've passed the first hurdle with him, which was his lack of availability. Thing is I could really delve into the Pulisic situation but as far as things stand now, not one of our attackers can truly say they have received an unfair amount of game time in proportion to their performances and goal/assist output. This we assume is down to the system. Personally I think Tuchel runs a meritocracy and he plays the players he believes are in form. We are slightly lucky and unfortunate at the same time to be blessed with so many attackers when we use such a defensive system (starting 5 defenders usually). With the recent games any indication a possible run utilising a back 4 could be on the horizon and I would expect Mount to continue to thrive regardless of system but alongside the renaissance of Ziyech, I could see Kai and Christian both improving drastically due to the presence of an additional attacker. CHO also has been looking good recently in both a back 3 and 4. If I'm being completely honest though mistakes were perhaps made in the summer regarding recruitment which has hampered us during the last 2 months, lack of recruitment to deputise for Chillwell and James has left Pulisic playing a position he's not particularly bad at but not nearly as effective although I'd hoped he would adapt and still showcase his top ability. Add in Lukaku who hasn't really adapted and is seeing game time that Pulisic amongst others would have been sharing had we chose to stick with just the attackers we had in the summer. It's still not too late for Lukaku to improve and for us to implement a back 4 system that brings the best out of all our attackers, that to this day remains Tuchel's greatest challenge.
January 30, 20224 yr I’m going to the U.S. game against Honduras on Wednesday, hoping he plays. Would like to see him in person. I’ve been critical but hoping he shifts my thinking soon.
January 30, 20224 yr Not been a happy return to the national side for him this "winter break". Bullied on Thursday and then today this happened: Canada 2-0 USA.

Yeah once again he wasn't playing a good game. Jonathan David MVP (gave the first assist). Their leftback made an amazing goal in injury time. Former Chelsea player Ugbo played the last few minutes. Aside: Ugbo wants to leave to leave KRC Genk already after 6 months because he doesn't play as much as he was hoping for. In all fairness. On his position plays the best Striker of the Belgian Competition (Golden boot winner and 34 goals in 1 year) Every time when Ike gets the chance to play he has been very underwhelming. Hoping we make a move for David, dump Lukaku and pair David with Broja. Would be such an upgrade to our attack.

As mentioned even before he signed for Chelsea. Just not to see him point 400 times per game to his own feet would make me enjoy watching a game of Chelsea already a lot more. Not even talking about the benefits in attack. Nobody will ever doubt where Lukaku's feet are.
February 1, 20224 yr Now predicting wind chill around -15F/-26C at match time on Wednesday. I’ll be wearing lots of chemical heat pads. Could become one of the coldest games in FIFA WQC history. Chelsea will have to dethaw Puli when we send him back.

He's come up in a few games but I feel like he reminds me of Oscar. He, like many of our players, have such potential but fail to display week in week out. I'm not going to stick by him just because he's American. If the club is doing him a disservice by playing him out of position or not playing him at all, maybe the club should do a real disservice and sell him and find a proper footballer to take his position. One thing I don't understand is why he's always having his feet slip out from underneath him. It seems like 80% of the time he's on the ground. It's all psychological. He can't believe he's playing in the Premiership with the Champions of Europe. His body language always shows lack of confidence & being too overwhelmed with it all! With that being said he might do better at Everton; )
February 3, 20224 yr US dropped him to the bench for tonights game vs Honduras. Their coach said beforehand he was looking for more end product after the loss at Canada, and looks like the finger of blame is being pointed at CP. Which no doubt means certain people will point the finger at Chelsea. US currently 2-0 up so can say they made the right call. Edited February 3, 20224 yr by axman2526
February 3, 20224 yr And… he scores. Looked more confident and fluid tonight despite the -16C temperature. It was great to be at the stadium and get to see him play live.
