Especially when we know with Sarr and AC unlikely to provide any width. Yes, this was an odd move from Tuchel. I'm shocked Havertz and Pulisic's roles weren't swapped, it would have benefited the pair of them. This reluctance to play Pulisic at LW is confusing me, it's by far his best position, personally I think it's the only position he can play, but he seems play anywhere but there.

TT is making some very bizarre decisions of late and his body language looked like a man defeated after Palace. Most of us want Lukaku dropped and either Havertz or Werner played up top. What he did yesterday was a real shocker. I could not believe he first started Havertz and CP in the wrong positions and then did not admit the mistake and change them. I get trying different things because our attack bar Ziyech stinks, but trying so blatantly obvious to fail, does fail and then not fix it was so poor.

I think Tim is currently in hiding after realising that Pulisic is playing like he’s never heard of a football making poor knobhead Tim look quite the fool.
February 21, 20224 yr infact the most bizzare stat is after the 19-20 season he has only played 7 times on the left wing in the EPL and none this season as per transfermarket. I just find this absurdly crazy almost like a sabotage. I am surprised by modern standards he has only had one interview in which he has spoken about it.

Transfermarkt list his main position as RW for some reason. I think he's a LW as well, and agree it is the only place he looks half decent. On the club web site as well, he is also described as a right winger. "Agile, quick and two-footed, Pulisic is naturally a right winger but is also comfortable playing on the left or behind a striker." His profile on whoscored? is amusing - "Player has no significant strengths" - LOL. Also weak for crossing - great trait for a winger eh !
February 22, 20224 yr looked good tonight, took his goal really well, links up so good with Kante and Havertz
February 22, 20224 yr Usually shines when played in his actual position. Shame he looks to have lost some pace but still has all the trickery in abundance and did very well today.
February 22, 20224 yr Great to see that he’s improved a bit. Actually, I don’t think he was that bad in the CWC or against Palace, and today showed that he has the dribbling and directness that we lost with Hazard going. If he’s capable of keeping fit and improving just a bit, I think he’ll do well for us. It’s great to see a player taking on defenders and dribbling through, it opens up so many spaces.

Thought he was awful against palace. Looked a million miles sharper today.

February 23, 20224 yr Good finish for the goal. For me though his best moment was tracking back and tackling the man on the break late in second half.
February 23, 20224 yr It was a griddy performance by Pulisic yesterday. He was making runs, beating players off the dribble and creating a lot of open space on his preferred left forward position. He also helped with pressing Lille which created a number of scoring opportunities.

February 23, 20224 yr I think we all know Pulisic is capable of having games like last night. But we just need (and expect) to see it on a consistent basis, which he hasn't been able to do this season.

He needs to show he can constantly unlock the deep sitting defence.

Play him there preferably with supporting fb rather high wb then you will see a more consistent Puli.

February 24, 20224 yr Tuchel seems to like to move him around whenever he needs reinforcements. This season he's played at the 9, wingback, attacking midfield and left wing. Left wing as has been said before is his best position. It gives him the most ability to shine. I think attacking midfield is his 2nd best position but it doesn't allow him to take full advantage of his strengths. Wingback he kind of does alright on the attack but he's not the defender you need. #9 absolutely screws him over IMO. He's not a big guy, he's never going to be a big guy. He gets stuck in the middle and gets bullied by the CB's and the wingbacks try to air crosses into him as though he's going to out jump a CB who has 6 inches (15 CM) on him.
