This was years ago Syd. I don't remember where I heard it, I remember a video of Rice being interviewed talking about his families Chelsea background and then something about us lowballing him on wages and his dad not being happy in negotiations. Maybe was the same summer he went to Arsenal. Again I don't remember the details clearly.

Yes, West ham had no interest selling rice and the player didn't kick a fuss (I think Rice said he owe his career to west ham).

The only time west ham considered selling rice was covid season and Lamp said we did enquire but West ham wanted big money (probably 100m).

So with no European football next season - and that may be a good thing and allow Alonso to build a team with fewer distractions - and the loss of revenues and sponsorships it will be interesting to see if the owners have the temerity to increase season ticket prices and raise prices elsewhere e.g. in the club shop and bars in the stadium.

I suspect season tickets will increase in price and the owners will say that is due to circumstances and we all know why. I reckon changes will also be made to concessionary rates i.e. you will have to be 67 and not 66 as it is at the moment. Also if people give up their season tickets I don't think that those given up will be offered to members on a waiting list. Instead tickets will be offered on a match to match basis. That would be good if they were offered to members but it would not surprise me if they were given to Vivid seats and other ticket/tourist agencies.
